the campus store caters to students and nearby residents. there's school supplies, drinks, sandwiches, groceries, snacks, smokes, lotto, frozen eats, etc. it's a tab pricey. many items didn't have pricing on it. no doubt people come here on the spur of the moment and pay the going price.. drink: "itoen" jasmine green tea (2.49) slighty pricey -tea is 0 calories, no sugar nor sugar substitutes -nice subtle green tea taste. read more

Stopped by today for a few snack items. I got a banana and a yogurt drink for 3.99. The banana was fresh and the yogurt drink was good as well. The have a little section where they sell sandwiches and tamales. They have a wide variety of drinks and food items (both refrigerated, frozen, and dry). They also sell school supplies. I wish I had more time to look around but I will definitely visit again. Employees were kind and they take EBT! read more

One neat thing about Bay Area shopping is the plethora of places that appeal to my inner Dilbert concerning office supplies. The Campus Store in particular doesn't look particularly impressive when you see it first time from the street. Yet within, you'll find paper products (name brand and otherwise) beyond your wildest dreams! OK, that's a "bit" of hyperbole (even with my imagination), but it the selection within this small little North Side shop is quite impressive for its small size. And while you're here, there are Cal products, basic drug store needs, light hardware, and other stuff for both the student and Townies that wish they still were. read more

Warning: This place is outrageously expensive. I thought it would be fun to take my son shopping for school supplies here. OMG. One single subject notebook was $8.99!! Most Pens were around $5. I guess they price gauge because they are close to campus? But the actual student store on campus is much cheaper. Nice selection of supplies, but we can't afford it. read more

Way overpriced here, and a bigger problem: the store treats customers like they're stealing. I bought a 99 cent notebook here and then, a few days later, absentmindedly wandered in holding my notebook, looking for a pen refill. They didn't have the refill I wanted, but the lady behind the counter had the audacity to chase me out and yell at me for not paying for the notebook. I told her I'd bought it a few days earlier, with the writing inside to prove it. No apology and she had the nerve to say "I'm not a racist!" Never going back. read more

My greatest weakness is school supplies - fine, heavyweight paper notebooks, drafting pencils, translucent plastic post-it notes, you know, good stuff. This store truly excites the school supply geek in me. They have a nice selection of Rhodia, Moleskine and Clairfontaine notebooks, as well as my personal favorite, Miquelrius, although their selection of Miquelrius notebooks is only limited to one color in the one-subject kind. Their mechanical pencils are quite nice, and they have a really nice range of fine-tip pens. The range of items they have is impressive considering the store is so small, and sometimes it's kind of laughable. They clearly tried to target every aspect of a college student's life - from selling school supplies to toilet paper to pepper spray in a single aisle. Stores like this make me truly appreciate small businesses, and I really hope they stick around. read more

They had a pretty good (albeit small) selection of notebooks. I get so into maintaining a beautiful lab notebook. Had to start a new one recently and Mead comp books weren't gonna cut it, but I don't know how else to get those monogrammed "Laboratory Notebook" books except for online. Went to The Campus Store today after reading the other positive reviews, and they carried those rare ones that have the thick, numbered yellow pages, which I might even like better, and a few other interesting options. If you need school supplies, basic drug store needs, and desk lamp, basic cal gear among TONS of other things, they have it. I often buy my blue books here on the way to exams. Also, I buy poster hanging tape, notepads, nyquil, gum, birthday cards, etc. This store really has a lot of stuff considering how small it is. Oh, and the staff is very nice. read more

The Campus Store is, yes, a campus store. But it's also a small, friendly neighborhood store. I'm a student and live about a block from this place, so it's along the way on my daily walk to and from campus. I come in here only once in a while, but the owner always remembers me and stops to chat. I find it refreshing to see that in a store in such a busy, student-filled area. The selection of items is incredible for what is a tiny corner store. There's a good assortment of office supplies, from notebooks to folders to paper to pens and pencils. If you're feeling sick, many over-the-counter medications are stocked here. The selection of snack foods and drinks is, dare I say, better than that of Seven Palms across the street. (No alcohol, of course, but they have food covered.) The prices are going to be slightly higher than what you might find at Walgreens or CVS, but not by much. They're very reasonable for a small business in an already expensive neighborhood. I've ducked in here for green books, medicine, office supplies, and small grocery items, cards. On occasion, I've come in looking for something that they don't carry-- and the owner has offered to order it for me. That, to me, is exceptional customer service. Five stars all the way. read more

I live in an apartment building close by, and sometimes FedEx or UPS will drop off packages here if they can't get into my building. They've recently stopped accepting and holding packages, which is totally fine and I have no problem with, but I had a terrible experience with them regarding this. My parents had sent me a package but didn't tell me, so I didn't know until I got a call from FedEx trying to deliver the package while I was at work. I asked if they could leave it at The Campus Store, and they said they'd tried but they won't hold packages anymore. FedEx said they'd come back in a couple hours when I was home, and I thought that was that. I got home, and after several hours they hadn't come back yet, so I thought maybe they'd convinced the store to hold the package, so I walked over to see if it had gotten left there. I asked the guy at the counter if maybe a package had been left here by mistake, and he immediately went off on me, telling me they won't do that anymore and that I need to stop telling people to drop off mail here. I tried to calmly explain that I was sorry, but I didn't know the package was coming, or else I would have arranged to have it held elsewhere. He just kept going on and on about how they're a store, not a mail counter, and was really rude to assume I could have mail delivered here. I again explained that I didn't leave instructions like that, and I'd be careful to specifically explain this to mail carriers in the future. After he kept raising his voice and scolding me, I walked out while he was still talking because I felt kind of unsafe and he wasn't listening to me at all. I understand that you won't take mail for other addresses anymore. That's fine. You could have just said, "No, I'm sorry, we don't hold packages anymore." Why chew me out over this when I literally had no control over this situation? My husband and I used to come here all the time to grab groceries or office supplies, even though it was a little pricey. It was so close it felt stupid to go anywhere else. But after this awful experience, we're not coming here again. read more

On the way to my final exam this morning, I bought a GraphGear 500 mechanical pencil, a snickers bar, and a Vitamin Water. I was in quite a hurry which was obvious and my friend was waiting on me. I definitely heard the store clerk say 9.something, which made sense to me based on the fact that I was buying a pencil (worth 5.50), a candy bar and a vitamin water... I could see on Square screen behind the counter that there was a charge of over $16. I assumed that there was a mistake and I was seeing some other person's numbers, and at any rate I didn't have any time to call him on his shit. I wasn't offered the option of a receipt. HOWEVER. I did check my credit card charges when I got home and found that I was indeed over charged ($16.12). Be careful buying from this store and always ask for a receipt. read more

This store has always been a favorite of mine, with lots of stationary equipment, although it does seem to lack printer cartridges and a few other things. Don't expect to find everything, although anything related to paper like folders and notebooks, it should have. Great service, great location. read more

I've loved this store for years. It isn't EXACTLY the same as it was before newer management took it over, but it is still a funky, local place to get a pen, a pencil, a few post-its, a comb, some soda, a snackie or two . . . I always feel part of the community when I shop here. YES, it is more expensive, but, I would rather pay a bit more in the hopes that not every store will be replaced by Amazon. read more

They now sell all sorts of stuff in addition to their extensive stationery collection. They now carry high end sodas, deli meat/cheese, etc. They also sell kitchen tools, pain relievers, candles, detergent, etc. They have become a mini CVS . So, this place has made things very convenient for people who live on northside . They have all sorts of notebooks, pens, pencils. Basically all your school needs for reasonable prices. They have tons of different birthday cards (I'm not kidding, they have a lot of them), and thanks to them I don't have to walk all the way to south side or Downtown Berkeley whenever there is a friend's birthday. My only compliant is that they close a bit early (around 8), but whenever they are open I make sure to buy my grocery needs from them since their prices are cheaper from other stores, and they don't charge you if you use credit card here. Tip: To use credit card you have to spend more than $3. read more

I called to confirm if my package had arrived yet on Tuesday, but it had not been delivered to them yet. I called on Wednesday and told them to hold my package until Thursday and they assured me that they would. I showed up on Thursday morning and was told that the package had been sent back. What's worse is that the lady said, "It's not my fault"... horrible customer service! read more
