Stopped by Canadian Brewhouse for a meeting with a buddy. We were mainly there for the beer and took advantage of the Monday special--Michelob, which is basically a better version of Coors Light. Daily specials are awesome, we came on a Tuesday and tacos are the special for $3.49 each! You can get hard shell, soft tortilla or both called a gordita! Choice of beef, chicken, donair or fish. The beef dip was delicious, tender beef and a fresh bun and fries, yummy! There's also drink specials! Came to The Canadian Brewhouse in Lewis Estates to enjoy an Oilers Playoff game with my partner and some friends. We made a reservation to avoid any wait, but that was still met with a lineup and about a 10 min wait. Just a minor design flaw during a busy Playoff season. We were however sat as soon as we got through the line! Service was great! Beers came quickly and were ice cold as expected. The food on the other hand did take some time. Obviously due to a packed restaurant. So if you're hungry, be patient! The food was hot and fresh when it arrived, and lived up to typical pub expectations. We ordered steak bites, garlic fingers and wings. Just enough to enjoy, but not quite enough to fill us up. No complaints! All dishes were enjoyable. The bill and payment process was quick, and we didn't have to wait. Our service was great! I wish I remembered her name. She was friendly, attentive and we didn't have to wait on anything. Easy to find via Google Maps. Lots of parking. Very busy 7:30pm Tuesday due to the Oilers game. Soooo many tvs here. Lots of beer selection for everyone but also lots of fun cocktails, slushies, and bulldogs etc. . I tried the Ninja turtle - it tasted like grape pop and had sooooo much ice it was literally 4 sips and gone. Got the free tri-stacked nachos for my birthday perk - totally worth it. Piled high enough for 5 people. Added chicken for $5- not worth it, had probably 1/4 of a chicken breast cut into tiny pieces. Also added the nacho cheese dip for $2- was good but probably not worth $2. Friend downloaded the app to get free garlic fingers - also so worth it. Cheesy, little bit of bacon, large portion. Sooo good. The sauce was off though - it was wayyyy to sweet. 4/5 of us did not like at all. Friends got the shocktop, Guiness, and Mount Crushmore beers. All were as expected. I did not like my sip of Crushmore at all - personal preference. Waitress was awesome coming by every 15 minutes to check in even though we had a buzzer on our table to summon her whenever needed and it was so busy. The food was fine, very, very salty, but for a lunchtime drop in it met the basic requirements of no wait time, prompt food, and friendly wait staff. The nachos were pretty awesome though, definitely worth a visit, but the broccoli cheddar soup was outrageously salty and the Caesar salad was merely too salty. We bought tickets for the 40oz Steak Dinner for the Brewhouse in Windermere and attended said function last night with Our Neighbors (who had tickets as well)!! We ordered 1 medium rare and 3 medium steaks for the table. When the steaks arrived, they were all medium rare steaks. Three of Us decided to make due with what We had, but My Wife could not come to terms with the rare steak so We called the Waitress over to let her know 3 of the steaks were undercooked. My wife asked if she could have another steak cooked medium and the waitress exclaimed that they only had enough steaks to fulfil the amount of tickets that had been sold for the steak promo. She then went on to say she could take the steak on the plate and have the kitchen cook it some more! We just so happen to be in the Food and Beverage Industry and I told the waitress it is against OH&S Regulations to do that and that the meal would need to be thrown out and a new one made. She took the plate to the kitchen and returned to the table a short time later and let Us know they had another steak and it was being prepared to her liking. The steak arrived, and it too was medium rare. We called her back to the table and she could see how rare the steak was and saw the blood leaking onto the plate. She said that was the last steak and the only remedy was to have it cooked more on the grill. She took that steak to the kitchen and later returned with the same plate of food. She said it was grilled a little longer and the steak should be medium. It was the same plated sent to the kitchen and the steak had not been grilled again (nor should it have been) the entire plate was cold from sitting in the kitchen before returning it to the table and the steak was still medium rare!! At this point we just asked for a to go container and my wife decided to take the steak home and have it cooked on our grill as a left over!! When you pay $49 for a steak, I wouldn't expect it come out under cooked 3 times, I don't understand why the kitchen doesn't feel the need to temp the steaks before they go to the table. The server was very apologetic, and we let her know she is not responsible for happens in the back of the house!! With that said, I don't think we will be going back this establishment anytime soon. We have had the Tomahawk Steak Night dinners on 3/4 occasions and under cooked steak has never been an issue. My only conclusion is the kitchen staff is too Young and not experienced enough to understand the difference between a medium rare and a medium steak. read more

Let's taco bout this Tuesday ... I love Canadian Brewhouse but not this one. It was pretty disappointing .. I've tried to voice my concerns to the server but it was like talking to a wall. No ownership or follow up to anything. We were pretty patient until we've realized that it's been 30mins at least for our food to come out. We ordered : - nachos with chicken + guacamole : tasted room temperature ... otherwise, you can't really mess up on nachos. It was tasty nonetheless and the guacamole was pretty good with the extra hint of lime - beet salad : kind of small but the combination was pretty good . Spring mix salad, mandarin oranges, beets, candied walnuts and goat cheese then drizzled with honey and balsamic. - donair Pizza : Served with a side of donair sauce. The flavour was good but I rarely saw any donair meat. Times are tough I suppose ... Waited another 30 minutes for the pathetic looking tacos lol .. we ordered 6 and we were charged $0.99 x 12 sauces. Which we were not aware that there was an extra charge and it didn't make any sense for everyone to have 2 sauces for one taco. The server obviously didn't care and wanted to up her sales ... Stopped at this location whilst on a leisure trip with friends to Edmonton for the UFC 234 fight night. Firstly I must say the folks at this Brewhouse are quite a lively bunch, we were seated promptly in one of the booths; had a few drinks leading up to our meals. Sangria was on specials so of course the ladies obliged; my friend had a couple of Canadians and I had a cider. We ordered 3 servings of wings, being the Louisiana Whiskey Fire, Hot & Spicy Dill. Followed up with 2 servings of the RibEye special served with shrimp skewers, mashed potatoes with gravy and a small servings of steamed beets. Also tried the Tuna Poke Rice Bowl which was absolutely excellent. Our meals took a long time to come out, but meanly due to our steaks being made wrong. My friend's well done steak came out cold and stiff, which the manager remedied quickly by having the kitchen make a new cut of ribeye. Which was just excellent the second time around. The wings were pretty good, not too dry or crispy and the spicy Dill! Just wow, personally I'm looking forward to trying more of the spicy Dill. My RibEye was flavourful, a little over cooked from the medium rare I requested, but it's understandable. The place was fairly busy and the kitchen staff was overwhelmed with orders so little things like that are to be expected. Overall, we had a delicious meal after a long day of shopping. The fight was excellent, they had a TV in just about every location so you couldn't miss a thing. Our server Christine was kind and amazing, she kept us updated on our meals. I had given them a five star review for improved service and food quality... Tonight's experience rates as the lowest of any experience with a food purveyor in my history. A simple discussion of "distancing" for a group of 7, and not the almighty 6, led to a team of people insisting that our separate tables weren't enough - without a raised voice or refusal of compliance, we were asked to leave due to "attitude". It's very disappointing for everyone to have to comply with arbitrary rules but, when people use those rules, in a fascist manner, it becomes unacceptable! This was literally our first outing in MONTHS and, as we run our own small business, we are also the kind of people who want to support local business - so this was a terribly horrific and mortifying experience, to say the least; we certainly won't be going to THIS establishment EVER again. Being hearing impaired, I rely on reading lips to understand what's happening; while the wearing of masks is great, and completely understandable, it should be common sense that this will likely cause a challenge for the hearing impaired, so, communication becomes a struggle which should be understood by public service staff! I didn't even have a chance to inform these staff bullies that I couldn't hear a word they were saying before they asked us to leave. As we were in the upper balcony with the wind in our ears, attempting to hear someone speaking through a mask at serveral feet away was virtually impossible. Unsympathetic, uncaring, and simply rude! When restaurants should welcome business after this recent struggle, this was exceptionally unwelcoming, and this place can expect to never have a dollar from us again. This restaurant is close to home and we usually like their food. We try and order for pickup so that they don't have to pay fees to delivery services. Unfortunately, last weekend, even though we ordered early, the food was terrible. What should have been an easy order was totally messed up. The quesadilla that we asked for only chicken and cheese had everything but the kitchen sink in it, except for cheese. And the steak bites were tough as shoe leather with a tiny little container of sauce. The only defining quality about this place, and what kept this review from being a one star, was the excellent way they dealt with the anti-masker rule breaker we saw when we were picking up our food. Good for you for kicking that one to the curb. Just for that, we'll be back to support you, even with the mistakes. read more

I was invited to a friends birthday here. The building on the outside is very nice and there is ample parking which is a plus. The location for me is amazing as it's super close to home, and could be considered walking distance at times. Inside, from what I saw was alright. The party was upstairs and that was a hike. Those stairs can be scary after a few drinks because they are so steep. The table we were at was not bad. The chairs weren't the most comfy, but they were ok. We had a few drinks and the waitress was decent, not the best at suggesting things to order though. The menu isn't very clear about their drinks either. We ordered a ninja turtle and assumed it was a drink when it was a shot, because it didn't say. I'll definitely venture here again as it's close, but I will prob stay on the main level and hope they put some more detail on their menus for drinks! read more

When we finally got a waitress, it took 20 minutes to get our drinks & then we ordered Tacos which took another 45 minutes to receive COLD Tacos! We took one bite & called the waitress over to ask her if the tacos were suppose to be served cold & she said no. She offered to remake them & we told her that we didn't want to wait another 45 minutes. We then asked for the manager & she apologized & gave us a Free Appetizer Card for our next visit. Hmmmm ?? This is a cool spot! Stopped by with a friend for beers and nachos. Sat outside on the big patio. Really neat layout with fire pits, couches, lawn area, and games to play. Big beers were on special for $6.99 and nachos were affordable, too. Lots of beers on tap. Took a very long time for food to come out but we had beers so we were happy. The food was good, better than your typical pub food. The service though... we waited 20 minutes for our drinks and 90 minutes for our appetizers. It was super slow service. The manager came and comp'd us and explained why our order was delayed, which was a really nice gesture, and made the whole situation sting less. I'm not sure why it was so slow to get service though, it wasn't overly busy, and there seemed to be enough wait staff... Not a great experience, but they get full credit for acknowledging a mistake and making us feel better about it. I'll try them again soon, hopefully round two is quicker! If the manager didn't make an attempt to correct the situation, it would have been a 1-star rating, but their efforts turned it into a 4-star experience. read more

I gave a 2 star for the patio being spectacular but the food--not impressed. First the caesar had no dressings on it. When the waitress was questioned she asked if we would like to order another one and she would request the dressings be there. No we didn't want to buy another one just wanted the dressings on the one we bought. Then the hamburger was 2 frozen patties with some no name brand processed cheese on them. Okay.. I WAS super excited that the brewhouse I saw right near my house (0.8kms away) was finally finished and built. However, not sure if I will be going there anytime soon. I've been there twice now. both times I had to wait at least 15min outside for a table. Once inside, it took a while to get to get drinks but that's okay because it was pretty busy. I had 2 friends with me, all 3 of us got 2 orders of wings each. So that's 6 orders of wings together. We waited almost 2 hours to receive them. When received the wings were warm and tasted pretty damn good, but we almost got up and left because it took so long. The waitresses were really nice and apologized for the delay on the wings, which was good. I do think this place needs some serious organization before people will give a better star rating. read more

This place is pretty bad for bar service! I only go in still because it's open late. The bartenders are absolutely terrible, not sociable and not good at serving in general. They never pre set (napkins and cutlery for what I ordered) and also they don't even ask you if you want to eat so you are left there for 15 mins wanting to order but no one comes around. If you aren't cute your drink is empty for 10 mins. I ordered a double vodka soda and an order of wings tonight. Bartender left my drink sitting at the well for 5 mins before I looked at him and wondered why my drink was over there, then he ran my wings to me, did not give me a plate or any napkins... I ate my wings with no napkins because I was upset and then just asked for my bill and left. Not impressed, always a terrible time.. ugh. read more

Good beer selection. Shows sporting events so it's a new go to. The staff have been pretty good with service. Kids are allowed so that's a huge plus for us. They have special devices at every table where you can buzz your server if you need anything...so there really is no excuse for not getting your servers attention. Kids may find it fun and over order with this feature so keep your eyes on it. I would recommend this place for a few drinks. Lots of seats and TV's to watch the game. Probably one of the better pubs in the far West. It can be too loud inside but looking forward to summer on the roof top. read more

I've been to a couple other Brew Houses but I hate to say it, this one has the sloooooooowest service. Not sure if the issue is with the bartender, as drinks took forever to come. Or with the kitchen, as other than my friends tacos which came out pretty fast, it was taco Tuesday so I'm thinking they had lots pre-made (they mentioned they were cold too), our food took a very long time. They were just wings and wraps, so nothing that should be extensive to make. Even though there was an Oilers game on, they weren't that busy, so it wasn't that they were slammed either. After our meals, we decided to order nachos to all share. And yep, you guessed it, took a very long time again. Our server was nice and I don't know if the long waits was due to things beyond her control. As for my meal, I ordered the Cajun chicken wrap with fries. It was OK, but my only issue is I noticed on the bill there was a charge of 99 cents for the small dill dipping sauce, which I never used or asked for. It is a nice pub but there's just too many other pubs that serve the same types of food and drinks, that I'm not sure I'd come back here due to the very long wait for food and drinks. The St Albert one didn't have long waits after you ordered, but was a long wait for getting a waitress when I was there. So not sure if this is an overall issue at most Brewhouse's with bad or mediocre service. Too bad since they all do have an awesome rooftop patio. read more

This review is a bit delayed but better late than never. I cannot say anything but GREAT things about this location. I am an active member of ESSC and have been to many Brewhouse locations but this one is by far the best. The staff is very friendly and went out of their way to ensure my visits were enjoyable. My sister also threw my engagement party at this location with a total of 91 (give or take) guests. We had the outside patio booked and the staff and management were amazing! They accommodated all of our requests, they got all the orders right and made it a wonderful experience for my fiancé and I and our guests. Thank you to the management and staff for their continuous professionalism, kindness and for being so accommodating. Of course the food and drinks were great. I highly recommend this location. I rarely give 5 stars to establishments but this place deserves it! read more

I live in Lewis Estates and have had very little choice in restaurants up until a couple years ago. Our favorite hangout was the lounge at Boston Pizza in the Hamptons. This was not due to the food (which was good) but more so that we got to know the staff there and they were really great and became friends. One of our good friends, Emily, moved on to CBH. It is a 5 minute walk from our house so we decided to check it out. She is a manager there now and just a fantastic person! Every staff member I have dealt with have been friendly, attentive and efficient whether sitting at the bar for a few cocktails or hanging with friends for a meal. The food is really good! I have tried several sandwiches, burgers, wings, salads etc... (my new favorite is the spicy crispy chicken burger). Everything has been really tasty! I highly recommend this location and look forward to spending some time on the patio once the weather gets nicer. Do yourself a favor and check this place out - you won't regret it. read more

What a joke this place turned out to be. The only reason I am doing a review here is because their website will not allow feedback although they say they do. I was there for happy hour and ordered a beer, green onion cake, breaded shrimp and ginger beef. Each dish was $7.00 each. The shrimp was edible but the ginger beef and green onion cakes were gross. We were definitely disappointed in the service and quality of food. We were at the location less than 3 hours and had a difficult time getting a 3rd beverage. The appetizers took over an hour to come out and were over cooked and not very hot. We visited on Friday Oct 26th from 5:30 - 8 pm. There were many empty tables at this time. read more
