Elmhurst Art Museum - Nice open gathering space inside the museum

The decor and overall design created the perfect atmosphere for our celebration, and our guests kept complimenting how nice everything looked. It was exactly what we were hoping for, and the venue played a big part in making the event memorable. Unfortunately, the way the event ended left a disappointing impression. As our rental time was coming to an end, we felt extremely rushed to get everyone out. We were told that if everyone wasn't completely out by the end of our reserved time, we would have to pay for an additional hour. Because of that, instead of enjoying the last few moments with our guests, everyone jumped in to help clean up and get out as quickly as possible. On top of that, security was actively telling guests to leave, which made the end of the party feel stressful and uncomfortable rather than allowing us to wrap things up naturally. I completely understand that venues have schedules to keep and rental times need to be respected. However, there is a difference between enforcing policies and making customers feel rushed. A little flexibility or a more customer-friendly approach at the end would have made a huge difference, especially after renting the space and having such a positive experience throughout the event. Overall, the venue itself is outstanding, and I truly loved everything about it. The only reason I'm not giving it a perfect review is because of how the event concluded. If the staff handled the end of the rental with a little more grace and understanding, this would have easily been a five-star experience.

I hate to say it but Google Reviews are much more accurate. At 4.4 with 500 plus reviews. That's a big difference. They have a Huge Banquet room upstairs and their own Deli right next door. Both doing a very busy business so they know how to do Italian cuisine. The restaurant itself is a very elegant traditional Italian decor with plenty of seating both cozy and open tables. After some delicious fresh bread with olive oil and freshly grated Parmesan cheese it was time for the main course. Gamberi Broccoli Fettuccine tossed with sautéed shrimp & broccoli in a light garlic & olive oil sauce. Just amazing. The dessert was a very authentic and very traditional made from scratch cannolis with pistachio topping. Melt in your mouth delicious. The experience was amazing with exceptional service. One of the owners herself was the server. And was more than happy to answer all my questions about the olive oil (where it comes from) how the main dish was prepared and in detail described how they make their cannolis. One day I might just try this at home. Lol. Do yourself a favor and read the Google reviews first then Yelp and decide for yourself. I'll be here every time I'm back in Chicago visiting.
