Renaissance Care Home in Neuse River Village came highly recommended and following in depth research and a long conversation with Ken Ogar, we chose this facility. We have not been disappointed. The love and care that Ken and Rosalie and their staff provided for the remainder of his life was incredible. He was safe and comfortable and all of his needs were seen to with a level of professionalism, love and compassion that never waivered. My mother was able to see him in a home-like setting and to spend time and share meals with him just like the old days., Sadly, he passed away yesterday but we want to make sure everyone knows how happy we have been with RCH from day one.

My family was instantly at ease, which was even more important with her dementia. We never doubted the care that she was receiving and it allowed us peace of mind as we lived our day to day lives. Two slats in the blinds were too short horizontally, which I pointed out to the sales manager a month before Dad moved in; when he did move in, the slats weren't replaced. They didn't give him a proper shower or shave for a month! The PT and OT aren't on a regular schedule, and he waited up to 2 weeks before a PT and OT visited him. This goes against their policy, which is receiving it twice a week for 10 weeks. A couple of caregivers have just walked in the door w/out knocking, violating his privacy. He also received a bill for $21,000 for his 1st month! There were and still are other problems, which I told the coordinator about, and she's doing her best to help, so there's that. Anyway, a friend's dad stayed at Brighton Gardens and really liked it, so look into them as an alternate.

The ED Heidi (she is very nasty and rude)And Coordinator Terri (also very nasty and rude and tells other care members business)shows favoritism, they let me go because of behavior and conduct when it was a problem with me and 2 other people which the two other people yelled in my face and cussed at me but NOTHING happened to them but because I took up for myself I was tooken off the schedule and terminated 3 days after mind you those same ladies who been there 5 and 10 years were able to stay on the clock and keep there Job I was the only one under review but not the only one arguing. I've warned Terri many of times how her leads were treating us care members and how nasty she was nothing was never done nor did she ever respond. They didn't like the fact I didn't let them talk to me any kind of way.... It has been plenty of times a resident falls and the 3rd shift lead puts them back in bed with no injury report or no vital check or nothing or times where they done get residents up to change or feed them I've witnessed this with my own eyes from care members from 1st and 2nd shift I've witnessed leads treat and act nasty to residents hitting them and almost knocking them down I've witnessed many of arguments between leads and care memebers and nothing was done about they behavior or conduct but because I spoke up for myself someone In my face yelling I get terminated I wish family of residents knew how they family got treated and talked to there and when they come around they act like they treat them so good it's all a front.. get your family out of there don't sent your family there. Terri don't care about no one all she care about is a vacation cause she is never there. That's why they are under staffed now and can't keep anyone because the management is so poor down to the Ed's coordinator and leads...they have bugs always crawling around in residents rooms rats residents always falling and they never have a reason why because they are not watching or caring for them they way they should

Had we known earlier that Renaissance's level of consistent, higher quality family care existed, we would have selected them first. Consequently, our mom (then one of three residents) received individualized attention and compassionate care from the staff. She adjusted well, regained some of her mobility, energy and significant weight, and she resumed a regular diet and feeding herself. Although she passed away in January 2023, we are forever grateful to owners Rosa (an R.N.) and husband Ken Ogar and their team for making our queenly mom's last months more comfortable and loved. And so, we would like to thank Rose & Ken Ogar and their teams for caring for one of the most precious gifts God has given us - our mom Alice. Difficult at times and more feisty than her age can bear, our mother's life and health improved dramatically under their care. When she first was admitted, she was barely eating and then voila! - she began eating and talking incessantly despite her dementia. The food was wholesome and nourishing thanks to the CNA's they employ and their amazing cooking skills. Despite wearing briefs, our mom was always dry and if she wanted anything, they were at her side! Thank you for getting her up in the morning and for her bathing, her dressing, her toileting and her grooming. We would also like to take time to point out the extraordinary care our mom was given by these particular wonderful CNA's - Alicia, Kendra, Nisha and Vickie. A big thank you to all of the CNA's that took the time to do our mom's hair. It was always combed and we never had to ask. Thanks guys, for all you did to make our mother's stay an excellent one at Renaissance Care Home. From time to time, we will keep in touch to let you know how mom is fairing. Again, thank you for your patience, your tolerance and for giving this feisty 90 yr. old, sometimes cussing lady - your gracious care. Our family is truly indebted!
