Overcomplicated and Excessively Expensive Estate Documents…read moreWe hired Alan Dickerson to prepare a straightforward will and trust for my husband and me. Our needs were simple, but Mr. Dickerson produced an almost 100‑page trust and a 36‑page will filled with dense legalese, irrelevant clauses, and redundant provisions. The result felt like "word salad" and created documents that would be difficult for any executor to follow or administer. We were charged thousands of dollars, which we believe was excessive given the simplicity of our estate. We provided Mr. Dickerson with a Maryland will and trust that were drafted to our preference for simplicity and asked him only to revise them to be compatible with North Carolina. The Maryland attorney's documents were readable, about one‑tenth the length, and cost roughly one‑tenth of what Mr. Dickerson charged. Pros: If you put your trust in Alan he will push you through the process. Documents are thorough (if you need a highly complex plan) Cons: Unnecessarily lengthy and complicated documents for a simple estate Excessive fees Many provisions did not apply to our situation and added confusion Did not simply adapt our Maryland documents as requested

I hired Mark Costly, who produced all new documents, but he would not let me read them. Instead, at my review before signing, he speed-read parts of them to me so fast that I couldn't tell what they were referring to or what they meant, although I was able to spot some important errors. When I asked for a copy to study, I was told that they do not provide copies to clients until they are finalized and signed. Why? Because "clients would have questions that would take too much time of his time to answer"! I lost my deposit, which was half his fee and nearly as much as I paid for the original documents.

We were invited to attend a service at NowChurch NC and fell in love with the people, the atmosphere, the worship and most importantly the word! Senior Pastor Nate Davis is a man truely after Gods heart. He a people person who has no problem getting to know the people of God. He's such a modest, humble man with a pure heart of love for God's people. We are so glad we found NowChurch! The church has services at the Carrboro Century Center. Services start prompt at 9:30am so don't be late. This past week the clock hit 9:30am and praise and worship kicked off right on time. Again, be sure to arrive early so you won't miss worship! NowChurch offers a kids church where you can bring your little ones as well. They also have a slamming music department! NowChurch offers so much that one must just come to experience the amazing shift that is happening in the town of Carrboro/ChapelHill. The congregation is a welcoming crowd with mixed races of all kinds. Be sure to come check out NowChurch NC! 5 Stars hands down!

Galloway is a great place, if you can afford it. Then again you get what you pay for…read more There are reasonable question yet to be answered. Our Board of Directors, CEO, Finance Officer, Marketing etc are not able to adequately answer what I consider a reasonable question. Here it is and I've been asking this question for the past 2-3 years and other residence have expressed the same frustration over the same issue long before I got here. "How are our Monthly Fees determined"? What elements/cost factors make up a determination to charge a particular monthly fee (which increases every year)? All we get is "it's complicated." Or some vague well it's, not just square footage, it's other things but they cannot, or chose not, to delineated those factors. Worse yet, if they don't know, we need someone else handling our management. We pay our CEO very handsomely ($250K annually) and to not be able to tell the people paying his salary how they are being billed is unconscionable to me and causes questions about handling of funds. Before signing to live here, I asked the same question and still couldn't get an answer and if I declined to sign, they would just go to the next person on a long waiting list. I had already waited 5 years. So even though I signed, I felt I had not choice if I wanted to live here. Maybe you can get an answer! If so, please Post and advertise.

The Arbor Healthcare center is in desperate need of the board's intervention!…read moreWe have recently lost our DON (director of nursing) and Administrator. The turn over of Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.) is overwhelming and never been seen at our facility before! They need a change from top down and do something to attract and retain staff. A sign-on bonus and retention bonus would be a start. Along with shift differentials for staff working 2nd & 3rd shifts. This is becoming too stressful for current staff having to work extra hours to fill in for vacancies. We've even had to bring in Agency Nurses for coverage. Something we've never done before here at GR.
