We hadn't eaten here before and the reviews I could find were a mixed bag, so we decided against it...until I heard they were serving Corned Beef & Cabbage on St Paddy's Day. First of all, it wasn't a disaster. The waitress gets 5 stars! She was so friendly and did her job well. The food was ok. Hubby opted for breakfast. He's a biscuit & gravy man but theirs was disappointing. The biscuit was little. Looked and tasted like the kind that pops out of a can and the gravy had very little sausage in it. My CB&Cabbage was tender and good but wasn't as flavorful as I'd hoped for.But the AMOUNT of corned beef was very generous! It doubled as the meat for our supper the next day! We did notice the dining room was clean and tidy but the dish with sweetener packets in it was pretty yucky. At first, I thought it was some kind of design, but it I could scrape it off with my thumb nail. The same packet dishes we saw on the other tables as we were leaving had the same grime on them. I tried for a long time to make this a go to spot because I really like Fei. But there is just always something so off about this place. All the staff besides Fei are really rude and snarky. The American food isn't good, it's all pre frozen blah. The Chinese food is excellent but it is EXPENSIVE. Like $20 for some fried rice expensive. In fact, everything is expensive, they charge like it's downtown Seattle. The clientele are jerks more often than not. Especially when karaoke is happening, it gets straight obnoxious. Even if that wasn't the case, the karaoke setup is so ridiculous. The KJ takes up an entire enormous stage while the singer stands on the ground below the stage, right in front of tables. The KJs are also inexperienced. I never see them adjusting the levels. It's a joke. Every time I come I feel like I'm wasting time and money. It's unfortunate. read more

I've given this place lots of chances to impress me, each time I leave disappointed. Food is terrible. Prices do not at all match the quality. Last time we went our waitresses was so stoned she kept asking us the same questions multiple times, she was really trying, but obviously high as a kite. The owner is super nice, and she is the only reason this place gets any stars. The bar crowd here is also a bunch of uneducated mouth breathers, it gets weird. read more

I've been here a couple of times and been pretty happy with it because the staff are really wonderful. As they say, a good waitress can make up for mediocre food. My strawberry waffles came with frozen strawberries once. Otherwise, the food is decent. Nothing to write home about. read more

This place would be missed if you were not looking for it. Interior is definitely updated with the reminence of cigarette smoke from decades ago. What the food is absolutely outstanding a must try is the chicken fried steak breakfast with eggs. They compare perfectly with any of the best chicken fried steak I ever put my mouth. It's very loud but it's karaoke and child friendly and AMAZING food and the bar owner is very sweet.

We didn't get to order past our beverages, which took some time to be approached for. Talking with the guests in the bar, staff looking at their cell phones, and a smoke break out front, were more important than even taking our order. We left when the seemingly one and only server walked outside with a cigarette in his mouth before taking our order. read more

My wife and I have eaten here twice and both times have been very good. The patty melt and French dip were very flavorful, the meat is delicious and seasoned very well. The pancakes were also very good. We will definitely be going back! read more

The service was amazing. One guy doing everything (including cooking) and our waters were always filled. The food was fairly standard American/all-day breakfast fare, and unfortunately the poached eggs in my Eggs Benedict were pretty overdone, but my husband's club sandwich was fine and my hashbrowns/his fries were crispy and tasty. Prices are very reasonable, and since many restaurants in Longview close after lunch for good (even this place does it on Mondays) it's nice to have an affordable option to head to most evenings. read more

Incredible service and food. Your down home cooking for sure. Very fast and proficient. The pork chop meal is incredible. The chops are the size of my head. I love this hidden gem! I ordered the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. Yummy! The portion size was large and the cost was just right. There is plenty of room in the dining area. They have high top tables, regular tables, and even a counter if you prefer that seating. Friendly staff...Cowboy at the bar and Jason on the grill! Its been a while since I had food from The Carriage, and when time came to have some I was REALLY excited! The last time I ate there it was totally amazing! This time my wife and I ordered food to pick up to eat at home. We figured that we would order in and enjoy a good night of movies and food. I should not have assumed so much. It all started with the call, they first tell me that they are no longer serving sushi, and yes I know if you have been to The Carriage before you would not think that sushi would be the best thing to order from here. I told they lady on the phone that is what I wanted, she was very friendly, even when I told her that I would call back, she said, "no problem". After looking at the menu I decided on ordering different appetizers so I could have an array of different foods to fill me up. My wife ordered the TEMPURA COMBO and the TEMPURA SHRIMP I decided on BBQ PORK, POT STICKERS, and the APPETIZER COMBO. We were looking forward to a night of "oinking out" I will not claim to be a connoisseur of foods, HOWEVER I can say I know what I like and what I do not like, and the food that they served us I can say I did not like. When I opened the box of the tempura shrimp you can imagine how happy I was, but when we opened the tempura combo I was expecting to see an combination of green beans, sweet potatoes, broccoli, and onions, which I received, except that my onions, they were actually ONION RINGS! I mean come on, we wanted tempura, not fried onion rings. It kinda of all went downhill from there. My BBQ pork was dry and the color of the pork was very dark. As for the pot stickers, well I am not a fan of corn in my food so imagine my surprise when I bit into one and they was corn inside. I have never had a pot stick with corn inside. Not only that, but they a little too over cooked. As for the rest of my food, well the fried shrimp has more breading than shrimp, the crab puffs were kinda cold inside and wet and my egg rolls were not very good either. Over all it was not a good experience, it was not The Carriage I remember it was not the once awesome food that if I could, I would eat there everyday! Which is too bad, it was my favorite restaurant in town and now I don't know if I want to go back. I hope that they will get things back in order. read more

This is an interesting place. I have to give an extra star because of the service. I go to a meeting once a month at 9:00 on Saturday morning in this back meeting room they have. We pretty much never feel at all neglected by the staff. We get whoever is available or unlucky probably! Anyway, I haven't eaten much here but I am willing to give them a try some other time. The rest of the restaurant seems to be very clean and the bar is definitely nicer than it used to be. It works for us! read more
