We went for a coffee in one of the many sitting rooms of this old stately home and also made use of the swimming pool, sauna and steam room. The spa supplies nice towels, shampoo and shower gel. The pool is small and there are not many sauna options but the setting is really pleasant. Whilst lying in the pool you can look out at the traditional Victorian garden and enjoy the natural light. The indoor sitting areas are very cosy. I had a coffee with soya milk, which came with two homemade shortbread; nice touch. Seems like a nice place to chill be it for a holiday or just for the spa and restaurant/tea room.

His transaction did not go through but she was cordial with him and suggested he come back in 30minutes. He and my husband and I were originally the only 2 customers in the pub. As soon as she was done helping him she twirled around and with a fake smile waited on the 3rd customer (a man alone) who had just walked up from my left. I wondered why she was obviously ignoring me but I figured it wasn't worth the stress and politely waited. Since, he ordered 5 different drinks and I only wanted to ask the process for ordering I politely said "madam, please excuse me but I just have a quick question". She ignored me. I repeated, "madam", no answer. She was 6Feet from me. I said it again louder. The gentleman she was helping nodded and pointed to her and she still refused to speak to me. I said "Madam" again very loud. She still ignored me. I said it again louder and she smirked at me. I explained that I did not understand the ordering process and just wanted to understand that we order from her and not at the table. In America it is done differently. My husband and I left. The…read morecheck-in area is small but the employee helping us quickly got us settled in a corner room with private bath. He even lugged our many suitcases up the stairs for us. The room was rustic chic & adorned in shades of gray & white. A claw foot tub sat under one of the many windows in the corner room as the bath, while small was appointed with a shower. Three of the windows (including the bathroom) have window seats & the windows all opened up to let the country air flow in. Nice amenities for our daily ablutions. The pub was a fun hangout & their burger was very tasty. We had one breakfast at the restaurant & while English breakfast is a bit different it was good & everything very fresh. Every bit about the place was well appointed, had friendly staff and the whole building was very clean, even the patio. I would definitely love to stay here my next visit to Bathford on Avon. They do a good range of shooters - last time I was here I tried the more lethal concoction of Jagermeister, Goldschlagger and Midori, which went down surprisingly well, and at £3.50 was an adequate, but not cheap, price for a shooter like that. They do have a table service, even if you're just drinking, which is quite helpful and surprising, you really don't expect that in Bristol. Also the staff here seem to be unfailingly attractive - I'm sure the management must have some sort of ploy going on, but I'm sure there's not too many complaints. As well as a main menu of good pub type food, they do a range of set menus, including buffets, BBQs and a more gormet set menu. The food is an excellent quality, and I actually think fairly priced for the standard. The only drawback the menus other than the main are only available to large groups, but the main one is pretty wide ranging. Maybe a bit boring, but I advise the burger, a beer, a bit of sunshine and have a chill in the patio area - it'll do your soul good.

The food is great The price of the room and everything was super reasonable. We spent some time talking with some of the folks here Mark behind the bar served this breakfast and Sally came down and chatted with us for a while and it was just not the type of experience that you'd find at a chain hotel it was very real very comfortable and one that we'd certainly want to return to.
