I can't recommend this place enough! The practice is a cute boutique that only treats cats, so the staff is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about cat healthcare. They are a little on the pricier side, but this is the best practice for cats so it is completely worth it in my opinion. I was referred to Dr. Simon over (20+) years ago by what is now blue pearl animal emergency, I was told she was a 2nd generation Vet and for the next 19 1/2 yrs she treated my kitty Kuki a male Manx since he was a kitten. I was NEVER disappointed, and as a THANK YOU, on occasion I enjoyed treating the staff to surprise lunch treats from Alessi Bakery that would make their day. Kuki died 3 yrs ago at the ripe old age of 19 1/2 ( I never realized how much love and attachment I had for my companion kitty, really it hit me harder than loosing some human family members) The staff was very comforting and Dr Simon always followed up PERSONALLY with me during all the years he was her patient. The staff is always great and they help you with everything from shopping for pet Ins. to lodging for when I had to leave him to travel, to the sad end of life cremation services. The Staff and Dr. sent me a sympathy card signed by everyone, it was very moving and I appreciated it. However, I recently adopted a displaced 6 yo kitty named Fussy who was totally indoors, well he got out recently jumped off my porch I immediately grabbed him and brought him in apparently jumping off the porch he must have landed on something but he had a limp so I called cat doctors made an appointment took him in unfortunately because it was unscheduled I had to leave him there because I had other commitments, in the past I was always given a written estimate of what the cost would be being that it had been 3 years I had forgotten to ask for one so much to my surprise when I went to pick up fuzzy the bill was for $1, 300.00, now I just gotten fuzzy and he had no reimbursement insurance yet, needless to say I was quite shocked at the price but went ahead and didn't dispute it put it on my Visa and took my cat home gave him medicine that they prescribed for me as usual Dr Simon checked in regularly with me over the phone and was there about 2-3 weeks the limp went away. I looked at the bill and really couldn't tell if something was overpriced or not but figured as everything else, prices go up and since I've noted that the staff has more than tripled since I first started using cat doctors 20 plus years ago it would make sense that prices go up overhead, staff etc etc. however after reading the 11 negative reviews out of 63 positive ones,the negs "mostly" all pertaining to overpricing, because there is one pertaining to a death that I am particularly concerned about, I'm going to reevaluate. My cat now has reimbursement insurance and tomorrow April the 4th 2025 he has an annual routine exam and vaccinations etc. I plan to request a written estimate before going on with the examination and I will be discussing these negative reviews with either the office manager or Dr Simon herself. After all she started this practice and she is the reason that I am going to the cat doctors. I hope that this is resolved in a positive manner and I continue to use cat doctors and I can come back and update this review in a five-star positive ending. To be continued OK update I took my kitty for his annual wellness exam and vaccinations we saw Dr Simon she gave him his shots and said that she really didn't need to do the wellness exam unless I wanted her to because then she had already examined him 2 months ago when he had his leg issue it really wasn't necessary, so I opted not to do it and the bill was only $187.00 So I can honestly say it was a great experience but then nothing less than I would have expected from my previous years I'm going to the cat doctors. read more

I had used the Cat Doctors originally since 2011 for 2 cats and up until Covid it was great with really great doctors. But, during covid in 2020 things went downhill fast. A revolving door of doctors, coupled with a drastic change in their policies for in person visits to be 30 days out advance notice otherwise just stop by and drop off your cat with no real interaction. To this day they keep that policy up. So, as my cats aged this became increasingly difficult to manage. One of the cats was a little difficult to handle and ultimately they'd just give her back to me and refused to see her. You know if you take a difficult cat to blue pearl or ANY vet they will just kitty burrito her and deal with it like a professional well trained individual does. Even I can kitty burrito the cat in a towel with no issues for oral medication. So eventually I just gave up with this place and went elsewhere which had turned out to be much better for me. Case in point if your cat is young then OK this place may be fine otherwise look elsewhere. read more

I had the pleasure of being assisted today by Dr. Connolly and tech Holly. These ladies are incredibly knowledgeable, professional and sweet. This office is an incredibly clean, well put together and organized facility. It also smells sterile and clean unlike many other vet practices. They are extremely thorough with their health checks and genuinely have the best interest of your pets in mind. They are very compassionate and attentive and were able to give me great recommendations for dietary changes as well as lifestyle changes in a gentle and understanding way. I am proud to say I am switching all 4 cats over to this office. I feel extremely safe with them and my baby girl seemed to agree. This office seems like it would be more expensive than most but it's pretty much the same in terms of what you'll be paying. They have very high standards for their processes and operate on a "gold star standard" meaning no stone will be left unturned. They were able to find and point out a dental issue that my baby had that I wasn't aware of, and showed me and explained to me what that entailed and the best resolution for her which I greatly appreciated. This was an issue that was overlooked by an appt I had with my old vet about 2mo ago. They also have options for financial assistance if needed which is incredible! I will absolutely be returning, and I highly recommend this amazing group of people to anyone and everyone. read more

Unfortunately I was introduced to them when it was time for my cat to cross the rainbow bridge-but there is not a better place on this earth I could have taken her in my opinion. Unfortunately we had a really bad experience with the Cat Doctors. And even though we gave them a couple of chances they could not meet our expectations and we have decided to quit going there for our cat. At first, they administered a vaccine that had issues (recalled); our kitten reacted to it immediately with a fever and we had to deal with so much anxiety and trauma. They did administer a free steroid but never told us then what was wrong, they revealed this information at a later time. However, mistakes happen so we went back a second time. This time around my partner took our kitten and they upcharged us for so many things including testing for a few things that she did not need to be tested for cause those were already done and were in their records. They charged us around $500 whereas we expected a normal visit with a rabies vaccine. They also kept giving us fecal tests, but our kitten's tests return as just fine. After confronting them, they said sorry and credited us for a test they ran for no reason. When we got an estimate for spaying, that was the end of our patience. They gave us an estimate for $1000 with charging spaying twice and a few other things that looked ridiculous. Even though our kitten is chipped and they know it, they wanted to microchip her again. And they were charging us a ridiculous amount for a flea topical. And there was a fecal test again! How can they keep making so many mistakes? They are supposed to speciality cat vets, I was so happy initially when I saw that something like this existed in Tampa but going to them has been a horrendous experience. We had to cancel our spaying appointment with them and find other options, just can't trust them! If you get their service, be sure to check the estimates and invoices multiple times and question everything they are doing. They clearly don't have the records straight. I am just glad my kitten wasn't killed with that vaccine that they administered. read more

I have two cats. I get bombarded with emails for months telling me they are due for this or that..anything to get that "exam charge" in. Why am I so irritated? Lets see, as I am deathly ill I have my daughter take one cat there in aug, throwing up bile. They have my credit card on file, so charged me for the visit which was fine, what wasnt fine was not calling me and telling me that they also were charging a silly price for hair ball cream, anywhere online the same stuff is $8-11, but Noo they charge me $34! And they added some pills on the bill of course as they felt my kitten needed 'calming' the 'next' time she came in. I called after seeing the bill and the women said bring it back when I got better as the cat wouldnt touch it regardless. When I did drop it off I got a msg stating to drop it off at a shelter it pick it back up as they refused to refund me. Never going back. read more

The staff is nice and the office is efficient. However, the prices are outrageous! I was charged $750 for a well visit for my cat who is 10 years old and in perfect health. They charged $339 for senior bloodwork! When I questioned the testing they told me it normally started at age 7 and he has not had it done because I have refused it in the past. The most absurd charge was for obtaining his blood pressure...$45! What!?! After I was charged another fee for the actual vet to "exam" him for 5 minutes! I just wanted a basic exam and rabies vaccine! I will not be returning! It felt like a money grab for sure! read more

I cannot say enough about The Cat Doctors! I have been a client of theirs since 1996 and I feel like Dr. Christine Simon and Amber are practically family. The Cat Doctors is a full service vet clinic and the office facilities are very clean. The staff here is very friendly, efficient, and attentive. If you have an emergency, they will always fit you in. If it wasn't for Dr. Simon, Amber, and The Cat Doctors' staff, I would have been completely and utterly devastated with the deaths of my two late cats a few years ago. They made an otherwise painful process a little bit easier on my heart. The prices are towards the high-end here but the loving care The Cat Doctors and their staff will give your cat is priceless. read more

My cat has been going to see Dr. Simon for over a year. Dr. Simon is attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. I love that this practice is all about cats as the staff are all very caring toward my cat. I have boarded her with them several times and trust the staff to take good care of her. I am never worried to leave her as she seems to enjoy boarding there and taking advantage of their large playroom. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful especially Jay, Jasmine, and Alayna. I just love the vet Techs Sam, Holly, and Jennifer. The prices are slightly higher than other places but I gladly pay them as the quality of care is unparalleled. So, I went here when my 16 lb cat, Biggie Smalls was having urinary issues. They were quick to get us in ASAP and when we arrived & had our appt. they were wonderful about giving options for how to treat Small. He is now on prescription food from The Cat Doctors & I call ahead on the day that I'm picking up when we need replenishing..I'm in & out, they're ready for me. I took our MC kitten to the cat doctors for a second opinion on what was causing him so much troubles with his paws. It was considered an urgent appointment since we didn't have an appointment. It didn't cost anything additional, but I had to drop him off for the day. I was then presented with a long list of recommendations that added up to a lot of money, however, in the best interest of our kitten the Dr recommended that he would be better served going to a dermatologist as they are more skilled in the procedures. The Dr even called a dermatologist and consulted on what was going on. She even had them reserve an appointment for us if we did decide to go that route. This speaks volumes about how much this establishment cares about cats and not about money. Highly recommend The Cat Doctors!! read more

They are all knowledgeable, but my main complaint is that they turn over their veterinary staff frequently. My senior cat recently passed away, but in the 18 months we were going to the Cat Doctors, he saw four different veterinarians. I understand that there is one vet who has been there for a long time, but she keeps pretty tight hours that I could never fit into my schedule as a working professional, so we never saw her. I had a long-standing relationship with my vet in our former city and hoped to find the same scenario here. We will be adopting two more cats in the future, but I think we will seek out a practice that keeps their staff. I love my kitties and need to establish a trusting relationship with their vet. It's hard to do this when they do not consistently see the same one. read more

The vets & crew here are amazing HOWEVER they're trying to rob people dry. Please do not be blinded by someone with a degree hustling you for some money. I'm openly posting with my name because of what happened to me and I would like to let people know always trust your gut. My kitten was from a dirty trailer park ordeal and he was very very crusty and gross (obvious reasons). They told me this dry skin area around his head was ringworm. My gut was telling me he was just extremely dirty and there's no way in heck he has ring worm. So I spend the money yada ya ya, HERES THE GAG if you've made it this part. After spending lots of money because I didn't wanna be a POS pet owner, I listened to the vet because she was very certain it was ring worm. My fault for believing without having a test done. I ended up not using the products on him nor giving him the medicine because I just couldn't come to terms with it being ring worm...? So I go back they convince me to do the culture, I do it. More money dump. All for it to come back as a negative test LOL... So I listen to the tech explain how I have to come for a second test just to be CERTAIN it's completely gone... Hmmm more money dump? I just ended up telling her what I did and I totally caught them in a scam.. They did this to another friend of mine and they did the same thing as me because they just couldn't come to terms with it being ring worm. So there's my story - be wise about what someone with a degree who's making money off you is saying.. It's a sales game. Always trust your gut. read more

The care my fur baby received from the staff was beyond exceptional. I've been to a few veterinarians in which their care is questionable, however I never feel this way coming here. I don't feel as though this practice was excruciatingly expensive (however everyone's budget is different). My cat has a condition (FHS) and I have never been so informed about it before coming here. I originally loved Cat Doctors due to Dr. Bishai - she was amazing and the best veterinarian I've ever had. I was moving out of state and wanted to bring my cat in for his checkup before we left. I called to make an appointment and was disappointed to hear Dr. Bishai was no longer there. Since I was leaving Tampa, I didn't feel it was worth the hassle of transferring vets again so I agreed to go with one of their other doctors thinking it would be fine. Big mistake and this is where I agree with the other 2 star review on this page - I was price gauged and taken advantage of. My cat is elderly and has a condition that requires testing that normally costs around $250. Due to Covid, I could not enter the clinic with my cat this time. They took my cat in while I waited in the car and the vet tech called me a short time later to say the low price for the visit is $500 and if I wanted additional testing it would be $1000! I nearly choked as I was not expecting to pay that much. Not knowing what else to do, I agreed to the $500 price. The tech calls me back again to tell me my cat has fleas and that will be another charge. My cat DOES NOT have fleas and I felt taken advantage of by the fact I could not be in the clinic with my cat to see the "flea". I also dropped off a stool sample a few days later and never received a phone call with any results. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. read more

Our cats have been coming to The Cat Doctors for all of their medical needs since ~2015. Everyone on the staff is very professional and their passion for the well-being of our feline friends shows in how they interact with the animals. The office and examination rooms are very clean, organized & well-maintained. There's two large windows in the one we usually go into and both of our cats jump up on the exam table to get a good look at the neighborhood animals & scenery. The staff here is extremely pleasant and made me feel at ease with my baby girl in their hands. You can tell they really care about their clients and their pets unlike other veterinary offices. Wow! Amazing. Can't recommend this place enough! My cat needed emergency care this morning. I was not a previous client of The Cat Doctors but they immediately treated me like my cat was one of their family. They let me bring him in as soon as the doors opened and provided him with immediate SUPERIOR care. From the staff to the veterinarian, I couldn't have received more compassionate, wise and thoughtful care. The veterinarian took so much time to explain what they were doing to help my cat and Sam was amazingly kind to send me pictures and text updates as things progressed. There was no sales pressure at all and no surprise fees. They laid the treatment plan out for me in such a clear way.Boy did it put this mama's heart to rest knowing that her baby was getting such great care! I won't go anywhere else! They do seem like they really care about their animals and spend a lot a time discussing their care with you..that's the positive. But the prices are nauseatingly expensive & you most likely get an appointment when you need one. I just had my 2 cats in for their regular annuals and the price was $900 at the end..that's right...almost a thousand dollars. And that was with me declining 2 additional services they wanted to provide. They received 2 annual vaccines, a vet exam, 3 months of flea meds, and blood work (cbc & cmp). To put it in perspective..my boys' last vet didn't charged half that much when they were neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. The place is cute and the staff is all very kind but unfortunately I don't recommend it unless you have at least $300 to spend on each routine visit. And Jesus take the wheel if your pet has an issue..I can only imagine the cost then. I've also tried to bring my cat in for minor issues twice outside of their annuals and was told to bring them to urgent care since they didn't have any appointments available for at least a month. I heard them telling someone the same thing over the phone when I was in the office last as well. They recommend a specific urgent care and even offer to make an appt for you...seems like they get a payout from that urgent care most likely. They told me to take my indoor boy to urgent care when I asked for an appointment because he was itching. Asinine. So begins the search for a new vet.. read more

This past Saturday was the first time for our cat, Cookie, to visit this vet. Cookie has been going to their sister hospital, North Bay. It was easy enough to request an appointment on their website and the staff there responded quickly. They were also able to get the records transferred over from their sister hospital with ease. Therefore, they were ready for us, knowing Cookie's entire medical history, when we arrived on Saturday. The entire staff really took great care of us and Cookie the whole time. They made sure we were comfortable waiting and also made sure if Cookie was doing well. They are "Cat" Doctors and so they only see "cats" in here. This is actually a big difference. I didn't even realize that they recommend only one year vaccines instead of the common three year vaccines for cats. This is not something a normal vet would've mentioned. These guys are AAHA vet, so they follow a higher standard of care. Since we are actually going to be moving soon, they emailed us a pdf copy of Cookie's entire medical history for us to take to our new vet. I would highly recommend taking your feline friends here for any medical needs! read more

I took my kitten here this morning for a check up and when I called to make an appointment the woman I spoke with told me about the free first visit. It was so nice of her to extend the offer to me. The vet I saw was Sarah and she is amazing! The veterinary technician, Jennifer, showed me how to give the medications I was prescribed to my kitten and she was so kind and knowledgable. I called four other vets trying to get my cat in for a drop off/walk in because he had his nail stuck in his paw. No other place would make the time for him, including my own vet. The people here are not only helpful, they clearly love the animals and care about what they are doing. I appreciate them for squeezing me in during this difficult time and caring for my baby. I am so impressed. My cat, Jack, was acting very strangely (lethargic, trouble breathing) and I was really worried. Naturally, I went right to google and found it could be something serious, so I found The Cat Doctors online and called to make sure I wasn't overreacting. The girl I spoke to on the phone expressed genuine concern and told me this was an emergency and said I should bring him in as soon as possible. I had to be at work, but she let me know that I was able to drop him off and pick him up later on, once they evaluated him. The facility was cozy yet clean, and the staff was absolutely terrific. My cat was panting when we arrived, as he does not enjoy car rides. They helped me get him out of the car and put him on oxygen right away. Dr. Simon reached out to me while I was at work (I was worried sick) and explained everything, including her recommended treatment. Every staff member I encountered expressed genuine care for Jack and I knew I'd brought him to the right place. My cat is now behaving normally and eating well. I hope to never have a sick cat again, but will absolutely recommend The Cat Doctors to all of my fellow "cat moms". They are wonderful people who will make your baby a priority. I had previously gone to a place around the corner from my house, but I'll never bring Jack to anyone but The Cat Doctors again. read more

I wish there was a way to put negative stars. They gave my kitty back COVERED in urine and feces!!! I had the worst experience this past Friday. I came here for my 7 month old Ragdoll's spay. As costumers know C.D brings the cats back and forth from the car. When they brought her back i did notice she smelled terrible through the crate right away. However, I thought maybe she just smells bad from other cats or who knows from staying overnight. She also has long white hair... I brought her in my tiny apartment and had to run another errand. when i got back my entire apt smelled awful and this was when I realized she had been covered. I have questions. 1. How long had she been sitting in her own filth( her white fur was/is stained yellow so had to be awhile- CLUMPS of feces stuck) 2. Why did no one tell me she was covered? 3. What are the conditions of the place- was she just passed out and going on herself all night? was there a liter box? 4. How did any vet tech/DR see her condition and think " Oh ya this is fine?" When I asked Dr. Farrow about this she said "Oh she wouldn't let me touch her (the cat is 5lbs) and that i could come back and they could sedate and SHAVE her for free" I feel robbed and it makes me sick thinking about my poor cat there all night just going all over herself? It is every pet-owner's worst nightmare and pure NEGLECT. I have given this place over $1000+ since I have gotten the cat. I could have gone somewhere much cheaper but I expected the best for my kitty. I had to buy cleaning supplies to get the smell out and it took 12 hours to get her clean. She was beyond miserable. They even said I couldn't bathe her for 2 weeks. So what.. she was just supposed to be covered? i had to stick her behind in a tub TWICE to try and get it all off. read more

What an excellent vet clinic!! Dr. Simon is probably the nicest, most genuine veterinarian we have ever had treat any of our animals. She listened to us and made us feel like she truly cared what was going with our beloved cat. She is very knowledgable and was able to get results quickly. Dr. Simon and all of the staff was very loving and caring to our cat and treated him gently. Everyone was also very warm and kind to us. The clinic is very clean and quiet and about as welcoming to a cat as it can be. Even with getting not so good news about what was going on with our cat, we left feeling that we got the absolute best treatment possible!!
