I understand this and will amend after I can tour ( I all positive I won't have too, though) Have a furry bff? Take them hear! I realize when you look at the pricing it looks exorbitant, it isn't. To get started, head to the website. They not only do day care they are also, a hotel. Yup, your bestie can have a staycation, too!! You will need to send in copies of shot records, etc. They want all their guests to be healthy and happy!! Want proof of all the joy and happiness? Head over to their Facebook or Instagram! After all your documentation and what not, your bestie is brought in for a test play date. They want to make sure everyone can play nice and there aren't any crocodile tears! Now, while your baby is there and your anxiously biting your nails, check out their Instagram and their your pooch id, gloriously happy and playing with all their new frens without you. Hold the sob, they are happy!! Pick up is around the side, similar to drop off. It's easy and while there does tend to be a line around 5ish, your furry baby will be joyously ecstatic to see you and gloriously tired. (Except my baby, she was all full of the energy). Our dog Archie is a frequent boarder at paws n rec lemon street. They are a life saver and allow us to go on vacations and work trips while having peace of mind. He is a large German Shepard that is 3 years old so he is high energy and honestly probably tough to deal with at times, but they always offer kind feedback when we pick him up. He doesn't often make it onto their social media but I understand he's probably hard to get standing still. We look forward to continueing our membership. read more

This place is amazing! My pup had so much fun. From the behavioral assessment to his first overnight stay, my dog was well accommodated and the staff was very reassuring and kind. He didn't want to leave! I also like how open their boarding process is (unless they just aren't busy right now - he stayed at the Pearl location) but it seems as if they are available for boarding 95% of the time which is perfect for last minute trips. I took my dog here to get evaluated to see if she would fit in with the other dogs. Multiple people recommended this place to me. They obviously have a lot of happy customers due to the waitlist on memberships. But find some thing really strange. They do not allow anyone to tour the facility and have no cameras to allow us to see the dogs while they play. I did receive a 'virtual tour video' but that can always be deceiving. I also received 'report card' with pictures and generic responses but that wasn't until the next afternoon. They say they put stuff on Instagram but the only thing they had up was an ad for an article about dogs and if daycare was right for them. They seem very nice but It just makes it seems like they are hiding something. I would feel so much better if they included either constant Instagram updates or cameras like all these other daycares have. I'm unsure if i will be bringing my dog back. read more

I love a place my furbaby has the warm and fuzzies and it was refreshing to see Sassy thrive in a new environment. We started with day care in November where she was relaxed at drop off but a little hesitant to mix with her pawpals. Initially, Sassy spent her time roaming with the staff or doing her own thing but has since become active with the smalls group. Fast forward to her first boarding last week. I was nervous as our routine has simply been drop off/pick up same day every now and then. From all of the pics I saw posted, Sassy was unfazed, felt right at home and was thrilled to run around with her pawpals for a week. At pick up, she was her vibrant self letting me know she was in good hands. Each staff member I have had the pleasure of speaking with since joining PNR has been friendly, very responsive to questions via email and phone calls and updates on Sassy. I can't say enough good about Paws 'n' Rec. We used them several times for our dog. She was a rescue and very shy and timid but every time she spent some time with Paws 'n' Rec, she came back happy and even started wagging her tail! She was 11 yo and we were at the beach when we got a call that she had had a seizure. They met my husband at our vets with Rosie. They couldn't have been more concerned, loving or caring. Paws 'n' Rec has been absolutely incredible. My sweet lulu would come home so happy and she was always so excited to see all the caretakers there. They treated lulu like their own and made me feel so much better dropping her off. I wish I could give them 10 stars. I brought her there for a year and even through covid helped me out. Unfortunately, I had to put my sweet frenchie down yesterday and without hesitation they were there for me and refunded me after I no longer needed their services. He was extra shy when he started, and was actually shaking the first couple of days when I dropped him off, but has really come out of his shell! Each of his caregivers went out of their way to bond with him and build his confidence, and kept me updated on his progress. By Day 3, he could hardly wait to be dropped off and play with his friends. He has become outgoing and happy around new people and new dogs. I couldn't recommend the Paws n rec lemon location enough!! I am a worried dog mom and don't trust many people watching my pup. I had a 3 night vacation and needed my pup boarded. I love how the pups don't leave the facility on walks or anything so I felt relaxed knowing he will be safe inside the facility. Also, I loved seeing my dog's happy face on Instagram each day. I called once or twice a day to see how my dog was doing since it was his first time away. Imogene was by the phone each time and went to get a detailed report from the employees in the back. She was so understanding and has such nice caring energy. When I picked him up he was so tired and I knew he had so much fun with the other pups. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!! Ridiculously great customer service and pet care here! I have enjoyed every interaction and just love how they operate their business. The membership component (versus packages) is unique but makes sense. The original location is a small-ish spot, but they are fantastic about not overcrowding. My girls stand eagerly by the door when I say "daycare"! They have loved their visits. read more

I have been taking my puppy, Miss Maisie, to Paws and Rec for over two years annd I am always pleased with the way my puppy is treated and cared for while she is there. I bring her for both daycare and boarding. The employees are always friendly and professional. The pups are separated by size and each group has ample time outside (shaded areas provided) to play and interact with their pup friends. I highly recommend Paws and Rec!!! read more

Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend paws and rec under its new management. I have no doubt they will ruin it from the top down. I would expect to see a huge decline in the quality of care and integrity of business practices in the coming months. My experience shows they now care solely about increasing revenues, and will screw over established, long-term customers to take on as many new ones as they can. Paws and Rec abruptly kicked out my vision impaired dog for that reason. For the past four months, PNR had been accommodating my almost blind dog in smaller and/or tailored play groups for daycare 10 days/month. Like most dogs, I will admit that his behavior definitely isn't perfect, but he is sweet, friendly and has no history of aggressive/dangerous incidents. He has been successful at other daycares before. In an environment he is familiar with, its hard to tell he's blind- the ways he adapts with his hearing and smells is truly amazing. Therefore, I was surprised to get a call from the Client Relations Director that my dog was no longer going to be welcome after January 1st. I asked if there had been an incident or a problem but there hadn't been. They would continue to take him for the next month (which tells me there isn't an imminent problem with his behavior), and even recommended I look at competitor facilities, but he wasn't suited for the changes they were undergoing. This made no sense and didn't add up: I got nothing but positive feedback about how he was doing from the staff, and continued to get positive feedback even after this. I constantly saw pics and videos of him playing well with other dogs. I even had just upgraded his membership package. The next day I spoke to the new manager and was told: they are now a "one size fits all facility", as of January first, they are doubling the number of customers, and it is a burden they are not interested in to accommodate special needs dogs. Translation: they can stuff more dogs in there that are easier to take care of who will pay the same. Who cares about an established customer? Not them. So, I offered to even pay an upcharge. I get they have a bottom line and are trying to grow and expand, and it wouldn't be unreasonable if he needs extra attention. He just wasn't interested in accommodating him or dogs like him, even if they are established customers, which is terrible. I even told them how much I really depended on paws and rec and was planning on being a member here literally the rest of his life. I am finishing nursing school and live alone, and it is the only facility in the area accommodating 7-7 AM/PM hospital shifts. My dog truly loved it and it increased his quality of life drastically. Didn't care. The best part of paws and rec was the staff- they were hard working, friendly, and knew literally every dog by name. They invested so much hard work, time, energy, and love in understanding and caring for my dog, and had really bonded with him. When I brought up it was his last day, they had no idea about any of this. It was clear the management DID NOT include them in the decision to get rid of my dog- it was a decision they made behind their back. I rescued a blind dog that was hours from being put down for that sole reason. Here he is getting kicked out of daycare that he loved and adjusted so well to for that same reason which absolutely breaks my heart. I thought he had found his place. If you are passionate about special needs and/or rescue dogs like me, this is NOT an organization you want to support with your hard-earned money. This was also shitty to do to someone in healthcare during a pandemic. read more

I have been taking my Wheaten Terrier, Alek to Paws 'n' Rec since last summer. He is always soooo excited to go every morning when I head to work and every day when I pick him up he is soooo happy and exhausted which is exactly how a pup should be after a day playing with friends. The staff is super friendly and always happy to help with any special requests. They allow drop off as early as 6am which is perfect for people who have to be at work early such as myself working in healthcare. It's conveniently located right off 275 and pick up/drop off is very fast. They also do boarding so I have an easy option when I need to go out of town as Alek is very comfortable there already since he goes every day. HORRIBLE customer service!!! I was over charged numerous times due to what they claimed was an "issue with their booking system". When I called to express my concerns about keeping my debit card on file I was told "If you don't like our policy you can go somewhere else". I think that is incredibly rude to say to a customer who wanted reassurance that these extra charges would not continue to occur. I was then sent an apology email that said if i would like to continue service I could put my card back on file. I decided to move forward with them since my dog LOVED daycare. When I arrived to drop her off I was told I was not allowed in the building and had to wait for the owner to come speak to me. I was never given an apology for what was said. I was told that I should not be mad since they "eventually returned the charges". Would not recommend taking your fur babies to a facility that embodies such low standards of customer service. read more

I came into Paws n Rec today and met with Paige who gave me a tour of the facility. The facility is smaller so it limits the number of dogs which I prefer. They offer daycare options, boarding, and training. I was specifically looking for boarding my 5 year old yorkie. I have never boarded her before because I have been too nervous to take that route as an option, typically I will use family or friends. Paige did offer to let my little pup do a trial daycare day at no cost to have my dog stay for a minimum of 4 to 6 hours to see if it would be a good fit. The facility also has outdoor and room cameras so you can always see your pup at all times. I got such a welcoming experience taking the tour and I cant wait to do the trial and see if it will be a good fit. read more

I had my dog stay here for one week while I was on vacation. During his whole stay, I did not receive any pictures or videos of him like I was promised. He was also not in any of the social media posts, except one where he was in a corner, scared. Midway through my vacation I got an email that my dog was refusing to eat. It was highly concerning because he eats all the time and they did nothing but throw away all the food that I provided. I provided more than a weeks worth of food to be safe and when I came to pick him up there wasn't any extra food left - weird. Ever since I got him back he has been scared and nervous of other dogs; turning aggressive when they invade his space. He was never like this before, always very playful and friendly. When I picked my dog up he seemed traumatized. What is actually going on in this place because they never actually show you?? These positive reviews are misleading and this place is definitely not worth the expensive rates they charge. Absolutely LOVE this place. My dogs Hannah & Hudson get so excited to go, and we are always greeted so warmly by staff. The one (very) minor billing issue we had was handled professionally and SO timely by management. They even gave me two free daycare days out of courtesy. Amazing. Aside from the great customer service, the true test is how excited my dogs get when we arrive. As soon as we turn down the street they start trying to jump out of my car with excitement The last time I picked them up, they didn't even want to leave! Haha. I have been bringing my dog here since he was four months old. Paws n Rec are a true blessing. They have been so kind and flexible with us and our schedule. Due to working full time and late shifts, it was very stressful to find proper care for my baby. I cannot gush enough about this place! We take our Golden Retriever over here and the staff are always so welcoming to him. I love that they post on IG everyday so that you can usually get a peek of your pup and see how much fun he is having. We were referred by one of our neighbors and truly couldn't be happier. They have turf, grass, and pools here so that the dogs get all sorts of terrain or can cool off during this heat. They have all of the pups in smaller groups so that all of the dogs get tons of attention from the staff. I also love that they have their own kitchen where they make their own food in addition to treats like puppy slushies! This also comes in handy for the occasional slip when you forget your dog's dinner ‍ Our pup also usually comes home smelling nice and clean, not like wet dog, which we have experienced at other daycares. AND they are open until MIDNIGHT! That on its own is something that can't be beat. Highly highly highly recommended this place, you absolutely won't regret it! read more

love paws and rec pearl location. my dogs are crying to get out of the car as soon as we turn t down the street! they love to "go to school" and I have ZERO anxiety on the days I drop them off. I know all of the staff loves to see them, knows my boys by name, and treats them with so much love at every visit! I searched around for a while for a place that I felt comfortable with, that didn't just throw my dogs in a cage. although there is no video cameras to watch like some places, I feel 100% confident about leaving my boys in their care! we moved away from the location and i still bring them to the pearl location for fun once a week! read more

Love the newest boarding facility in the Tampa Bay area. It's clean, safe, and most importantly, the staff here is amazing. They really care about the well-being of our furry friends. I love that they train as well without the use of any shock collars, prong collars, abusive force like some other boarding places in Tampa. Positive reinforcement is the only way to go!
