I needed to board my cat during a 7 day cruise. After comparing options, The Cats Only Inn seemed best. When I visited, I had a positive impression of the place. I felt they set up everything in a way that made for the best possible outcome for boarding a cat. My cat had a spacious enclosure by a window where she could lounge in the sun. Her enclosure was directly in front of a bird feeder, so she spent a lot of time bird-watching. I was able to bring her a small hut to hide in (and I put my pillow case inside so she could smell the familiar scent of home.) She ate well thanks to their variety of food options (which are included in the price). It's worth noting that my cat isn't the hold-and-cuddle type and has socialization issues. On drop off day, she was clinging to the carrier, hissing and swiping. Staff decided to keep her carrier inside her enclosure until she was ready to come out. I appreciated that they didn't force the cat out before she was ready (and that they stored my carrier for me). I immediately got the impression that this place values both the safety of the cats and the staff. They have been involved with rescue efforts, so staff were not flustered and didn't take my cat's behavior personally. Witnessing that they had the knowledge and patience to deal with a cat like mine put my mind at ease. I also received a couple of text and picture updates on how my cat was doing. When I took my cat home, she popped right out of the carrier and wanted to play. If my cat has any sort of bad experience, she hides for hours or days. Francine was treated with lots of love and kindness during her time at Cats Only Inn. Her stay there also helped to get her a bit more socialized and trusting of new people. OUTSTANDING!! So happy we found this kennel for Cats. Marilyn, her husband and staff really care for the cats that stay with them. We needed special attention for one of our cats that recently was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Marilyn took information down as far as dosage and dietary needs for both our cats. I called to check in and was given a detailed update on how they were doing. The Cats Only Inn can accommodate and care for upwards of 100+ cats at a a time - the place is clean, bug free and well maintained. Will be very happy to use in future. read more

The staff at cats only inn took great care of our 5 year old kitty. They were super accommodating of a flexible schedule, easy to communicate with, and gave our cat special, individual attention. Every time we visited the facilities were clean, well-staffed, and all the cats seemed to be doing well. Would highly recommend to anybody looking for boarding in the central NJ area! read more

I had a really good experience with Cats Only Inn leaving my cat there for ~10 days during the busy holiday times. They were flexible, kind to my cat, and my cat came home happy. I really don't have much to say about it--I would take my cat back for another extended stay. read more

The staff seems caring, but the facility is not ideal. Our cats did share a big cage with an outside view, but the place had a strong cat urine odor. Our two cats spent 6 days there and came back sick. Two days after coming home one cat was severely dehydrated, had lost over a pound, was coughing, sneezing, not eating. Vet visit was over $700. She had respiratory infection, needed IV fluids, antibiotic, appetite enhancer. The second got the same symptoms a day later. I will never board them again. I definitely do not recommend Cats Only Inn. read more

We just picked our cats up from a week-long stay... I cannot say enough good things about the Cats Only Inn! After cancelling our first kennel (which wanted to put 2 cats in an awful and small cage without ever taking them out), I googled and found the Cats Only Inn. Our cats' cage was huge with everything they could need (tower, scratching post, bed, litter box, food) and also had room for us to bring things from home. The people are excellent (let me call as often as I wanted to check in, take the cats out to play every day, will even send you pictures- true animal people). Also quite reasonable compared to similar places. My neurotic cats (who hide for an hour when they return from a quick vet visit) were 100% relaxed and happy when we brought them home. If you have any doubts, choose the Cats Only Inn! I cannot think of one con. We could not be happier and will continue to bring our cats there for vacations. read more

I can't evaluate this business on the basis of pet-sitting. My experience concerns pet adoption. I tried to adopt a cat from Cats Only Inn, only to be met with obstruction and shady attempts to talk me out of it. The owner claimed that, as a single guy working full time, I'd be leaving the cat alone a lot. She then tried to deter me by telling me the cat was sick and defecating on the walls. My co-worker, whose parents had to give this cat up before entering an assisted living facility, personally vouched for me. What kind of a kennel resists giving their pets to credible adopters with a safe, comfortable home? This one, apparently. Adopters, be warned. read more

We always board our cats at the Cats Only Inn. Cages are larger than some other places and the Inn is located on farmland with bird feeders outside the windows. Great place for our guys to go when we go on vacation. read more

I searched a great deal before boarding my 7 year old (needs medication) and 11 month old cats for the first time. I settled on the Cats Only Inn due to the affordable price, location and space that the cats are boarded in. I was not disappointed. There was no additional cost for medication administering and they provided the same food I provide at home as they asked in advance. My cats had a large space complete with climbing areas, litter box, birds to watch and a bed. In addition I provided treats which they were given daily. I was able to call daily and even get pictures sent to me if I wished (I did not ask to do so). The facility is well run and they are very catering to cats and their human families. I was very pleased with the experience and will be boarding again in the summer with the Cats Only Inn. read more

Once again I found myself here dropping off a clients cat and I cannot say enough about this place. It is a wonderful place to leave your cats when you're away. Staff is loving and kind and the cats are well cared for. Marilyn and Raymond are the owners of The Cats Only Inn. This place is heaven for cats. All of the cages are spacious and clean. No need to worry if your cat needs medication... They will medicate your cat as you would at home... Just give Raymond the instructions and he will make sure your cat gets it! If your cat can be temperamental around other cats just let Ray or Marilyn know and they will make sure your cat gets a divider. If you have to go away and need to leave your cat somewhere this is a great place to check out! read more

We brought our 2 cats here for a week while we were in the process of moving. Marylin, Raymond, and all the girls who work there were wonderful. Even though it was short notice, Marilyn was able to accomodate us, and they got neighboring cages. They were placed by windows with a close view of bird feeders. I visited several times over the week. The cages were always clean, and the cats got a lot of playtime. I would not hesitate to bring my cats back. read more

This is a wonerful place to board your cat. The cages are huge, with 2 or 3 stories, and plently of room to move around. Owners are very accommodating to special cat needs, and give individual attention when needed. I felt very safe in leaving my special "Felix" with them. When you visit, you will see what I mean. Hi! or should I say "Meow", my name is Henry and I am an orange short-hair tabby cat. My owner helped me write this because my paws don't usually fit well over the key board. Anyway, I really like staying at the Cat's Only Inn (Going is another issue because I hate leaving home and usually my owner has to look for me all over the house before he finds me- lately I have found a really good hiding place). Anyway, the place is great, food is terrific and they always give me my medicine on time (my thyroid is a little high- I wonder if there are HIPPA regulations for cats?). There are a lot of other cats to talk to and the owners come often and keep everything very clean. Then they have this bird area where I can watch the birds. That makes me very hungry and there is always fresh food and water for me. When I am tired there is a great place to nap. Then my real owner comes and I don't want to leave. Anyway, please tell your cat that this is the place to be when their owners are away! read more
