Unfortunately, every application we submitted went completely unanswered. We even spoke with a volunteer during one visit who told us that this lack of follow-through happens often, and that many of the cats have been there for years despite people applying. It's heartbreaking to see animals waiting so long for homes while potential adopters are ignored. We ultimately adopted elsewhere last summer after never receiving a response. When we stopped in again recently, the same cat we had applied for multiple times was still there, now fully grown after nearly three years in the shelter. I truly hope this organization improves its communication and adoption process, because these cats deserve better than being left waiting indefinitely in a dark attic. I absolutely love this place!! I've been on an "antiquing" hunt lately, and was looking for places…read morenear by. I am not afraid to DIY anything, so I love looking around at places. Well, I decided to come on yelp and look some places up. Restore Habitat for Humanity (the manville one and freehold one- but people were saying that's a high priced location) kept popping up. My friends have told me about it, but I've never really looked into it. I figured I wasn't doing anything the next day, that I wanted to check it out. That night, I actually found their Facebook page and was scrolling along... when all of a sudden I saw that the Somerset Patriots have donated furniture from their lounges. I saw that they had donated 54 bar stools, along with other things. Me and my husband are renovating our basement right now, and are putting a bar in. We have a pool table, and were in the market for 5 bar stools for our bar. I saw them on the Facebook page, I had to go and see if they were still there!! **we didn't need them yet, so I was just going to "look" lol ** The next day, I ended up driving the 30 minutes to Manville. When I first got in, it was packed (went around lunch time.) I walked quickly around the store to see if I could find them, and I couldn't. I figured let me do another lap around maybe i skimmed passed it real quick, and sure enough I found 2. Only 2. I sat in them and instantly loved them, but was sad there were only 2. I was looking around for an employee to ask if they had more, but I figured they were all gone. I was heartbroken.. especially because they were ONLY $50. I drove all the way home, just thinking about these chairs. They would have gone PERFECT with my pool table. When I got home, I went on their Facebook to see exactly how many they got in. It was a week prior since they posted their post, and said that the patriots donated 54 stools. There's no way they could have sold that many in a week, right!?? I decided to shoot my shot and message them. After the message went through, I got an automatic response from the page. Oh great, well that's not gonna go anywhere. About an hour later, I noticed someone responded. I asked if they had any more by chance, and the kind gentleman said they do, they are just in storage right now hoping to bring them by the store soon. I asked him when he was planning on having them over there, because I needed 5. He asked me if he wanted me to hold them for me, and I said yes!! About 40 min go by, and he had responded they are at the store and if I could pick them up that day. I said I'll see you in 30min!! I took my husbands truck back to Manville, and went up front by the registers. The man put "sold" tape on about 15 of the chairs, and told me to pick the best 5 I wanted and they were mine! They had some normal scratches on them, but the leather was fine! When I got them home, I touched them up with furniture markers and leather cleaner, and they look brand spanking new!! Everyone I tell about them think I bought them brand new. Long story short, after the discounts I got taken off, I was able to walk away with 5 quality bar stools for only $186!!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!! Stools like these go for $150.. EACH (or even more)!! And I just got 5 for $186???!!!! You've gotta be kidding me!! What a steal!!!! Prices are extremely reasonable here (i know everyone has a different range of 'reasonable' but it really is). And it makes me feel good that I spent money here and it's going to a great cause. I ended up going back a week later to buy a thrifted painting to do the viral "ghost painting" trend. I will for sure be back!! The volunteers are great!!

A couple of years ago, we lost the first of two sibling rescue dogs we adopted 15 years ago. We…read moreadopted another young dog shortly after. Then March of this year, our 2nd boy passed over the Rainbow Bridge. Recently we decided we missed having two canine family members and set out to begin the search for a friend for our dog Daisy (also a rescue) and I knew about Eleventh Hour Rescue and the work they do for a while and had attended events like Puptoberfest. When we saw there was a Winter market happening at the Sussex fairgrounds, we got our pre-appoved application completed and attended the event with Daisy hoping to meet a particular dog. When it turned out the beautiful girl in question wouldn't be quite the right fit for our family, we came close to leaving and determined to search through other adoptable dogs with 11th Hour when we were asked if Daisy wanted to meet Jett, who we'd missed. We did an introduction and short walk together with one of the volunteers and our family. It became quickly apparent that these two would become fast friends and he was super friendly immediately with our whole family. Jett came home with us that day and immediately seemed to feel right at home. But he wasn't answering to his name, so we bounced a bunch around and thought we'd have to use a process to change it, but we came up with Remmington III (Remmy casually) and he began answering to that almost immediately. We are on day 3 and we all couldn't be happier. Everyone who volunteers with Eleventh Hour from the pre-approval process to the event staff were so welcoming, encouraging and wonderful. They do a fantastic job of vetting potential adopters so that each animal finds their perfect furever home. I would recommend anyone searching for a furry family member to consider them.

I tracked down the manager who refused to price the item for me. A manager has the ability to price the item but whether they will or not is a different story. I still found some great cheap items. This store is heavy on clothes- that's not my thing- some items were extremely expensive- like worn shirts for toddlers for 2.99- for 1$ more I can buy brand new garanimals clothes from Walmart which is what I did. I had a box of Lincoln logs in my cart and a man shopping there told me he had a tub of them in his car he was going to donate. He offered them to me and I gladly accepted. Lincoln Logs are classic Toys! Double Aces and kind fortune for me! I love Liberty Thrift!

Like most thrift stores I find the clothes are never the best but the home wares shined as did their music/book selection. I liked that the books were (mostly) sorted by genre and they had tons of dvds and cds ! Like tons! I ended up picking out a few cds , a box set dvd and a home ware item I'm hoping to turn into a Christmas decoration. Overall a good spot and I'll definitely be back for the cds alone.
