However, this was not the case! I left a voicemail and the morning after, she texted me with very specific questions that showed she obviously cared about her clients and their humans. We made our appointment about 2 weeks out (right around when Governor Baker said pet groomers can re-open), and she continued to keep me updated with confirmations and check-ins for the week leading up to our appointment, all the way to the day-of with traffic updates so I could prep her work area for a stress-and-contamination-free experience. 2. HANDLING - Cynthia and her partner came in with masks, gloves, and 6 ft apart. They were great with Fig! Fig is a mischievous, sassy 20 lb cat who can be a bully if you're not firm with him. This was not a problem for Cynthia and her partner; they were clearly experienced with this type of behavior and were able to get the job done beautifully and quickly! They also cleaned up REALLY well - like, Fig easily had 3 lbs of fur on him, but not a trace of it was on the floor. They even took an alcohol wipe to the floor to be extra safe! 3. OVERALL AWESOMENESS - Since Fig's haircut yesterday, I keep noticing more and more detail work Cynthia did. Fig got a lion cut last year, but it didn't look nearly as great as Cynthia's handiwork! (Not the knock Fig's previous groomer; she was just one little old lady who tried her best with him being the brat that he is!) On the parts that aren't completely shaved off, she rounded out his face, paws, and tail so that he looks very even and like a pom-pom. Her attention to detail is what really sealed the deal for me! Cynthia and her partner are AMAZING! My family and I are in awe of what they were able to do with our very large and very matted Maine Coon cat, Archie. I would have bet anything that the only way to get rid of his matts would be to shave him. Somehow she was able to get the matts off, but still keep his fur long. We have had Archie groomed in the past when he wasn't nearly as matted as he was this time and they had to shave him. The entire process was so easy and safe. I had used Cynthia's service about 2 years ago for my long-haired cat Sarah that very easily develops hard mats in her fur if you don't stay on top of her brushing. Unfortunately, I let them get away from me and desperately needed Cynthia's services. My cat is very skittish and I know she would not do well if I had to transport her and leave her at a cat groomer all day. Cynthia comes to your home, where your cat feels safest. She is very communicative and keeps you updated on when she will arrive, provides instructions so that they and your cat will be ready to go when her and her assistant arrive. I decided to get my cat a lion's cut so she could get a fresh start. Once the grooming was complete, Sarah did not seem at all traumatized. In fact, just the opposite, she seemed fresh, light, smelled SO good and of course looked like an adorable little lion. Since the grooming, she has almost started acting like a kitten, even though she is about 10 years old. What was most surprising, is that Cynthia even cleaned her ears, which I was not expecting. My cat Jenny is terrified of having her feet touched. Even the vet could only trim two paws' worth of claws before her heart rate got dangerously high.
