It's not easy as a first time parent to leave your kid with new people, but the warmth and care shown by everyone at Brella has made it easier for me (only limited tears on my end in the parking lot after dropoff!). The dropoffs and pickups are wonderful -- the teachers are so thorough and get to know the kids so well, so quickly. He attended a single 2-hour trial visit on May 12. He was so distressed by the experience that when it came time to return, we could not get him out of the house. We requested a refund on May 14. What should have been a simple, humane response to a family whose child clearly could not tolerate the environment turned into a 10-week ordeal. Brella's stated policy is credit only, no refunds. When we asked them to look at our specific situation, they pointed us to a corporate Refund Exception Request process. We submitted it May 20. They acknowledged it June 2 and committed to a response within 30 days. They missed that deadline without so much as an update. When we followed up, we got a holding email. When we followed up again, we got another one. Their final answer, after two months, was a 50% refund as a 'goodwill gesture.' We got back $1,648. Brella kept $1,648 for care our child never received. Here is what should stick with anyone reading this: Brella made a choice. A full refund for a family that walked in once and left because the environment was wrong for their child would have cost them nothing but money they had not earned. They chose to keep half of it. In doing so, they chose to spend two months adding stress and frustration to a family already dealing with a difficult transition for their child. They chose to destroy any chance of us returning, and any chance of the many parents in our circles considering them. All to keep $1,648 they did not deserve. The local staff we interacted with were pleasant. That is not the story. The story is a company whose policies and corporate response are designed to protect their revenue at the direct expense of the families they claim to serve. If you are evaluating Brella for your child, know that a single unsuccessful trial visit can cost you thousands of dollars, and the corporate team will fight you every step of the way to keep as much of it as they can.

The previous principal was kind, reasonable , and cared about the students well being and learning and had good communication with parents. This new principal does not care to help resolve any issue or parent concern when we brought it up. She just responds too bad and want us to hear her credentials. Honestly as parents we do not care how high level of education anyone has if they don't care about the people and the kids. That's what matters. She's missing the point. When asked why full year tuition, the reply was it is up to you if you want to enroll your kids. There is basically no POS like a retail business. Just manual receipt. It is no doubt about the price being reasonable if you are enrolled in full year. Not when you start in January but ended up paying from last August. The school should just make adjustment for fee due date, why overcharge the parent for those weeks of classes/service not rendered. Havening techniques and other techniques have helped me (someone who defaults to over-intellectualizing) get out of my head and into my body which I've found is imperative for healing emotional trauma. With all that said I'm really here to share my experience with the Neurofeedback training done with Rebecca Turner. Having done so much healing and reprocessing through talk therapy, I still felt that my thought patterns were like a hose turned all the way up, whipping around, unable to catch, and control, soaking everyone around me. The initial brain mapping (which is done first to know what areas of the brain to target for training) reflected with tangible data what I was experiencing inside. Ms. Turner described it to me like "your two hemispheres are yelling at each other" which turned out to be one of the most validating things my brain has ever heard about itself. The neurofeedback training process itself is not as complicated and/or intimidating as the name sounds. If one is doing eyes open training, you essentially attach some small sensors to your head using a conductive goop and watch a tv show while the screen brightens and dims in response to the information collected by the sensors and neurofeedback program. For "eyes closed" training, you listen to lyric-less music while the music adjusts the volume to help train your brain. And it all works. I feel good about myself. Shame is now a passing emotion instead of a state of being. Rumination is down ten-fold as my hemispheres aren't "yelling at each other". My thoughts and feelings don't control me as much and/or send my on a downward spiral. If you are someone who feels your emotions are often become too much for you to handle that even standard therapy couldn't alone help, might I suggest neurofeedback?
