They informed us one of the services was fully covered by insurance and then months later said we had to pay because they made a mistake. Had all the documentation showing it was an error by their front desk but no one seemed to care about doing what was right and holding their staff accountable rather than a client. It's crazy that the response below makes it seem like this is still not their fault. Your front desk said multiple times that they VERIFIED that everything was covered then said they "whoops." Regather than coming here to argue and challenge what "1star" reviews you get, your time should be better spent talking to your staff and having different approaches. It's extremely difficult to find a good dentist when you're new to town. You believe that there are no good dentists and that you cannot find anyone you can rely on. My smile was terrible; I needed numerous crowns and repairs. I was also dissatisfied with my smile ( I had short front teeth) Dr. Whitmer created a treatment plan and did an outstanding job! I was a challenging patient! But she was extremely patient with me. For example, my front teeth required two veneers. I was very sad by Drs response as she herself was always above and beyond. But it doesnt seem like she even understood the issue by her response. The way she describing taking care of her patients is totally accurate. Shes awesome, even calls at home to make sure everything goes well. I, in no way, am making a yelp review for them dropping my insurance and she actually takes my insurance we found out when they reached out to make a new appointment a few months after the incident. I explained at this time again that I felt a certain way and would love to speak to the Dr. I wrote emails I was told would go directly to her. She never responded one time. I did not write a bad review because my insurance was dropped again to my knowledge they always took it and still do, we were just told they dont by one person who then called and said they do take it and always have. We were told no one took our insurance during the original discussion. I do feel like if I had not pushed back and questioned what she was saying I would be paying out of pocket. I do have it in writing from the front office that "no other office in the area takes your insurance" I called 10 other offices as well as my insurance. Dr never got my side or my husbands since he was told the same thing on a different visit and we absolutely respected her enough to try and talk to her privately before going to yelp. We reached out several times. Her stating that I was not being truthful in what I said has been my only poor experience with her (besides her not reaching out). I'm honestly shocked that she just said this was a made up problem because she always treated me well and as she stated it seemed never to bother her to take the extra step. Also her saying several times in her yelp responces she appreciated patients reaching out before writing the review. Im trying to be kind, honest, and tried desperately to speak to her privately. Sadly this happened and it happened in her office and she only wants one side of the story. This comes off to me that she doesnt care and never did. I am a new Patient of Dr. Whitmer. I am 57 years old so have had some dentil work done with many Dentists. Dr. Whitmer has to be one of the best I have been to. And that doesn't come lightly. If you would like an excellent Doctor of Dentistry (including Doctor of Dental Surgery) I think she is as good as they get. Her Staff and Dental Assistants are also top notch.
