From the moment you call to make your appointments to when you're in the office, you get top tier quality care. I started coming to Spanish Hills Dentistry in 2021 and was so bummed out when I moved in 2023 because I had to leave them. However, I never met any other dentistry team like them in the time I was gone. Most importantly, I missed my dental hygienist, Amanda. The work she puts into your cleaning is unmatched. Amazing!! I had pain from my top wisdom teeth jabbing into my lower gums whenever I talked, ate, or would just have my mouth closed. They let me come in to get them extracted ASAP! Front office was so kind.Haydee the dental assistant was very nice, helpful, and talked calm letting me know the process will be easy, fast, and painless. Totally would recommend this place for anyone in Ventura County, they've always been there for me especially when I needed an emergency tooth extraction, got me in that day and were really caring and supportive. I never have an issue with booking and they always make me feel like a person and that means a lot to me. I have severe dental phobia and I needed a lot of work done. Dr Carson was the best fit for me because he does sedation, which I have never had before. From the first phone call, Dr Carson's staff made me feel comfortable. They are all so kind! The sedation went really well. I didn't think it was possible to enjoy (?!!!) a visit to the dentist, but the team was so encouraging and kind that my anxiety level has decreased substantially. Like most I am not a huge fan of the dentist, however Spanish Hills Dentistry has changed my view. Compassion, zero judgement and plenty of patience are a few reasons I now look forward to getting my teeth cleaned and my mouth checked. We're always quick to bit** about business that suck but rarely do we take time to leave good reviews. He's been in my mouth more times than I care to admit. These guys are hands down the best! And let me tell you I have seen a few dentists in the area. Staff is wonderful, kind and gentle. I am very sensitive and require regular Perio cleaning. The hygienists here are the best I've worked with, very gentle yet thorough. Recently had tooth extraction with implant replacement. They walked me through each step. My experience so far at Spanish Hills dentistry has been amazing. I want to give a shout out to Amanda who did a great job with deep cleaning my teeth. Diane, at the front desk is a very nice lady with a pleasant smile. She gives you the entire low-down of what you're responsible for paying before any procedures are performed. Both Amanda and Diane were super caring as well. :) Last, but not least, Dr. Mike Acascio is really good at what he does. He explains in detail what the situation is with your teeth and then recommends the high priority issues that need to be taken care of first, without pushing you into making any hasty decisions. I really like that and this makes me trust them more. Also, i do want to mention that he is excellent with his work. These guys know what they're doing. I'd highly recommend giving them a try. I was petrified of going to a dentist after a very bad experience many, many years ago. My daughter talked me into going to this dentist office, saying how gentle and sensitive they are to the needs of their patients. I have now been going to this dentist office for around 2+-years. Diane is wonderful! She is the first person you see when you walk in. She's charming, kind, smart, and helpful. IF there's a need to wait (rare, and only a few moments, if that's the case), you can relax by watching the beautiful fish calmly swimming in the well-kept fish tank. Or, watch a little TV. I prefer the fish. Anyway, Amanda is new there. She was very good at cleaning, and could sense my tolerance level before I even needed to say anything. Very thorough, and did her job carefully to make sure I was okay. She wants me to do a deep cleaning, and even said she will numb the area due to my sensitivity. I'm actually thinking about it. I booked the appointment, but am still a bit apprehensive. But, more leaning toward doing it because of all the dentists' and hygienists' (including Amanda) that helped me there - have never hurt me! These people are so unbelievably great. First of all, on a Saturday night (almost 10 pm), while eating popcorn, the tooth surrounding my uncrowned root canal broke in half. I naturally panicked. I frantically searched Google for emergency dentists and Spanish Hills Dentistry popped up. I called and reached an answering service. They asked me if I was a new patient, as they currently only see existing patients for emergencies. I told them no, and I've never been there before. The representative told me she will pass the message along anyway. I wasn't hopeful at that point because I had a feeling I wouldn't get a call back due to not being a current patient. Low and behold, I got a phone call within minutes after the message was passed along. They made an exception for me since I was not an existing patient of theirs. I explained the situation to Kayla, Dr. Derek's wife, and she said that an emergency visit will be $350 cash. While that was a lot of money for me, I agreed to move forward. I figured $350 is a small price to pay to prevent any infections and even more possible damage, physically and financially. We then agreed to meet at the office in 15 minutes from that point. After paperwork and payment, Dr. Derek looked at my tooth. Instead of gouging me for more money, he was honest with me. He later told me he would be able to save my tooth from needing an implant, which in turn saved me over $3500. ALSO, he cares SO MUCH about the comfort of his patients. He made my procedure 100% painless. He kept reassuring me that he will make the procedure as comfortable as possible, and he did.  My advice: Please give yourself the treatment you deserve and come here if you need dental care. They will take care of you. If you need emergency services and you're not yet a patient of theirs, call anyway and leave a message! They may just see you!  Either way, you will not be disappointed. I am going to make an appointment for my crown very soon! read more

Since going here I found a new dentist. I started seeing them because I wanted to get my mouth ready for braces. I noticed that the tooth I previously mentioned Spanish Hills was achy from time to time. This dentist did X-rays and we found that the tooth canal was done incorrectly and had to be redone. Since then I've had no issues. Be aware because there are places who scam you for money and don't do the job properly so you're left doing it all over again. read more

Another great visit. The staff is always very friendly. They even put on some NFL pre-season football for me. Had a temporary filling that fell out and they took care of it very quickly. I was in and out in no time. Dr. Carson is a pro with that anesthetic and had zero pain the entire treatment. Couldn't even feel the needle going in before I was numb.
