I had such a wonderful experience when visiting the Century-- I truly can't say enough great things about Breail! Her energy was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The tour she gave was thorough and thoughtful, and you can tell she really cares about what she does. On top of that, the building itself is absolutely beautiful. It's well-maintained, clean, and has such a great overall atmosphere. Everything feels modern and inviting, and it's clear a lot of care goes into keeping it that way. Been here for almost 9 months now and I just have to say this place is wonderful. Pascal, Cristina, Esther, and John were the team I worked with when moving in. They were the best. All of them were very responsive, friendly, and professional. The maintenance team are always on top of everything and extremely great to chat with. This building wouldn't be what it is without them either. The amenities are great. Finally able to enjoy everything because of the ease on covid restrictions. I don't have any noise complaints. The animals are great. The location is convenient. This is honestly one of my favorite places I've lived in. I've seen the bad reviews and honestly, I think those people are over-exaggerating. Luckily, I don't think there are many Karens in the building and if there are, I'm sure they won't be here long. Definitely not a place for their types. Great open community here with friendly tenants. Hoping there will be community events soon so I can meet more people here! read more

I am not happy with the overall noise and decided to move out after living there for more than 2 years. I was charged with a total charge of nearly 3000 USD. And I need to pay the property 2000 dollars beyond my move in deposit. The property didn't explain to me anything about the floor damage. I have lived here for 8 months. I didn't have the best move in experience. My apartment was dirty upon move and I had to clean it before actually moving in (toilet, countertops, floors, carpet, etc...), I also had to special request a blue light inspection of the floors (which they were not super thrilled about) bc the other reviews scared me and they found multiple areas of damage/staining so I do not regret my brief "Karen" moment. and there was lots of confusion among staff about how the "free months" as advertised could be used. After that though, I didn't have any issues. Quiet apartment, great view, great layout and size, super polite leasing staff, maintenance comes by the same day for any issues. Really a top tier experience. However it has now been over 2 months without a working HVAC system. That was the biggest reason I decided to live here and there is still no date of when it will be repaired. Although out of their control (waiting on manufacturing in China) it has really costed me my living experience. I have a health condition and asked if I could have a temporary pause on rent since the conditions of my apartment (mid to upper 80s at the lowest. 98 at the highest - WITH a portable AC) can severely impact the functioning of my heart and I need alternative living arrangements until the HVAC is fixed and they refused. Although I recognize the HVAC breaking is not their fault, the lack of communication has seemed very unprofessional to me. For weeks they have made it seem like we are waiting on "a part" and every week when asked they tell us "Friday it should be fixed" but that's not the case. I finally pushed today for answers and it turns out it is actually a very complicated HVAC issue that will take months to repair. If I had known this earlier, I would have definitely prepared and scheduled a move out. But they have made it seem like it was just a little part and we were waiting for it to be shipped. It is now at the point where my schedule doesn't allow for a move until the august, so I'll have to pay for hotels when the weather is unsafe ON TOP OF rent until this issue is fixed. If you want reliable AC for these newly intense Seattle summers, or need it due to a medical condition, I wouldn't take the chance. But if AC doesn't matter to you, it's an otherwise great place! read more

The Century was one of the best discoveries that I made when I moved to Seattle (second only to discovering Pizza Mart). I lived at The Century for almost four years, and it was an amazing experience. The managing company: Pillar seems like quite the efficient operation - they utilize the latest tech to keep the complex running efficiently. While I didn't have many interactions with Pillar directly, the way that the apartment was managed said a lot about them. Therefore, I can only assume that they are amazing. The management: I went through two manager changes during my time at The Century. Both managers were amazing - they worked hard to organize community events, kept the place clean, and reacted the resident questions/concerns with lightning speed. The current manager, Pascal, deserves to be personally called out as he is an incredible individual. Pascal deeply cares about the community and this shows through the effort he (and his staff!) put into it all: from chocolate making to wine tasting - there is always something fun going on! The maintenance staff: Top of the line. These people deserve highest praise - any little thing wrong in your apartment, submit a ticket and within 24 hours, it's fixed! They are magic. The apartments: High-end in a high-end building. A/C works like a charm in the summer and the appliances/rooms are all upscale. The units are also very quiet - I never heard my neighbors (one even had a loud sound system). The building: Top notch. The common spaces are meticulously maintained and kept in pristine state. I loved working from the roof (where there IS Wi-Fi) and the common room on the 9th floor. I will truly miss the staff and my apartment at The Century - personal reasons took me home to California, so I sadly had to leave. I cannot recommend The Century enough - check this place out! I've been a resident at The Century since November 2019, but am no stranger to Pillar Properties--having spent my time in their apartment homes for the last 3.5 years. The level of service provided is extremely client-centric and they put time and effort into their tenants being happy at home. COVID-19 Response: With the latest challenges that COVID-19 has brought forward, I feel they have provided an appropriate level of responsiveness, communication, and a sense that they have an understanding and respect for the seriousness of the current global situation. I have thoroughly appreciated the email updates provided by Pascal and Cristina, and the level of care provided by John and Esther. High-touch areas are cleaned (often), hand sanitizer stations were quickly installed, masks were implemented quickly, signage added to remind those to be respectful to wear theirs as well, and emails/games/other outreach was made to make this situation less isolating. Response to maintain a level of operational continuity was noticed, and it was quickly implemented. Apartment: My apartment is well-built, has ample storage, good quality of appliances and very happily a full-sized washer & dryer, VERY quiet--concrete construction definitely helps keep the noise down. I thoroughly enjoy the space, the materials used, and the additional storage that can be purchased for items I don't need at the ready. Parking: I've never had any issues in the secure parking (2 gates) and other users seem respectful of other neighbors in the space. Cost is not cheap, but aligns to what I've seen offered in other apartments in the downtown area. Additionally, I prefer to park on site for ease, as well as I don't want my vehicle on the street. Area: The Century is nestled in a little spot nicely between Belltown, QA, and SLU: you're close enough to everything. The 99, Aurora, and the 5 aren't far from the property and make it easy to get where you need to go. People often forget that living in a downtown area will bring about different kinds of people--so one cannot be upset if they run into different walks of life throughout/nearby. I have never felt unsafe, and often walk my dog near and around. It's a downtown: you will have noise, smells, sights, people, and stuff that you won't have in the suburbs. Amenities: I'm not a huge amenity user--but have poked my head into the gym (seems fine, lots of cardio machines if that's your schtick), lounge spaces seem nice--again, not an avid user pre-COVID either, rooftop is great--beautiful view of the Space Needle, and a very large dog run that is cleaned often complete with bags and trash cans are nice. Maintenance: Extremely quick to address issues, very friendly and professional Misc: Paying rent is easy: all done on an app. There's a bulletin board you can also post stuff to sell/get rid of. On-site car wash/clothing donation bin, compost. Cons: I don't really have a ton of complaints, really--I am very happy here. My biggest issue isn't with the management, but you will always have tenants that don't understand the concept of living in close proximity to others: loud in hallways, don't understand the trash room isn't a free-for-all dumping space, can't figure out how to use a dog poop bag...etc. But, tenants here for the most part seem to be professionals, and I don't recall hearing a ton of partiers (pre COVID)--Denny/Taylor can be active but not bad. The alley can have some colorful people at times, but nothing out of the usual for downtown. If there is something I could fix, it would be the pressure washer for the car wash: the pressure is very low and it takes a lot of time to rinse off your car--but having a car wash on site that is open enough to get used is pretty nice. My overall experience at The Century is predominately a positive experience, and I would absolutely recommend the property (and Pillar) to anyone looking to rent. Additionally, I have not experienced a negative move-out experience--just be an adult and take care of your space. It's that easy. read more

I lived here for just over a year. Although I've enjoyed most of my time at the Century Apartments, I did not appreciate the conduct exercised during my stay. Following is my experience with the century and it's management team: 1. Move-out Charge Just as I read through the reviews, I realized that residents here have repetitively experienced the same thing -- I've been charged for $800 as move-out cost!! I have to pay more than $200 for an entire paint job just for 3 scratches on the wall. Also, they charged me for another $325 to replace a completely fine range top. In addition to some other items that has no clear explanations on. 2. Refrigerator Service Outage There is one time my refrigerator went out of service for an entire day. I came home and realized that it's making extreme noise. All the food in the refrigerator went bad, all ice-cream was melted. Although the maintenance guy (he's really nice) came and fixed it on time, we have to spent hours to clean the mess. On the other day, when we went to the management team to explain what happened, Pascal (the property manager) immediately changed to a mean face and told us we won't get any compensation for any of food item --- without any apologize for what happened. 3. Damaged Closet One time, a contractor from the building was scheduled to work on the HVAC and the contractor completely toppled our closet/clothing rack with our jewelry and valuable accessories (after many reminders to be very careful), yet, no real apology, compensation, or resolution ever came about. We spent a good two hours putting back the structure after work. A lot of my jewelries are crashed and damaged. Overall, it didn't feel like the century management was looking out for their tenants best interests time and time again, which is a statement that is purely subjective. Again, we felt like when things were going smoothly, everyone is be calm and collected, but whenever we notified management of a problem with the room or otherwise, management would suddenly become defensive, sometimes wouldn't even issue an apology and would indirectly blame the tenant for their misgivings. I have lived at many professionally managed apartments and my experience at the Century is the most extreme so far. Many other residents have gone through the same thing as me. Be sure you read the review before making a decision. Pros: Location is super convenient. Walking distance to Amazon, Facebook, etc. Good technologies (Amazon lockers) and nice common areas. Maintenance team responds to request super fast. Management is friendly and helpful, especially Esther, love her!(besides for moving out) Cons: After moving out, they charged me for $2000 for flooring repair for no reason and proof which is absolutely insane!!! The team didn't make any comments about floor during move-out inspection. My floor was in amazing condition when I moved out, I didn't even notice any scratches. If anyone is interested, I am happy to send pictures as proof. According to past residents, if you question anything about the payment, they will threaten to send you to a collection agency and your credit score will take a hit before you can finish the dispute. I paid for it because as residents, we have zero power in this. I have lived in other apartments for longer and never had any issue with floor repair. When I was living there, they sent out floor repair notices (at other units) every other week. Apparently, this is common practice and is their tactic to get old residents to pay for unnecessary new floor for new residents. tl;dr Rent here if you are okay with shelling out an additional $2000 when moving out, but the experience besides moving out is good. read more

Tried to work with the management on the issue. They ignored reasonable requests, charged additional fees not outlined in the lease, and when asked to send more proof they said they had 60 pictures yet sent less than 20 total that were not duplicates while still not providing proof of claimed damages. Instead of working with you on the situation, they will just send you to collections to screw over your credit score. This is apparently a much more common practice in the Seattle area now to coerce tenants into paying bogus charges. read more

We lived there for about a year. The only reason that we choose the Century is that we have a friend living there. And the communication between us and Pascal made me feel it was a wrong decision to live there. We moved in around early December 2017, here is our story for others' reference. 1. move-in background check Pascal told us we could move in within one or two days, which made us sign the contract right away, but then he told us we can only move in once they get the background check result, and kindly told us that they have the guest room for $195 per night. But he didn't mention that at all before we signed the contract. Actually, we were waiting for the background check from other apartments in the South Lake Union part, but we need a place to stay as soon as possible, and when Pascal said it's possible to move-in right away, we just trust him. I feel like it's totally acceptable saying the background check is needed and it usually takes a couple of days to get the result. But he lied to us. 2. package information We had a very important package delivered, and it was saying "signed by Adriana" from the tracking info. But we haven't got it yet, we asked Pascal if he could check the package deliver history. He did check that, but cannot find anything, and told us that he didn't know who the Adriana is, and there's no staff working there named Adriana. We trusted him, but we got an email to welcome Adriana back, which means they do have her worked there before. I don't know why Pascal lied to us, maybe he didn't have enough time for the explanation? Both of us are not a native speaker, not sure if he just doesn't want to talk to us to waste his time? 3. mattress removal during move-out We have requested a junk removal service and put the mattress in the garage while moving other stuff because it cost less money for picking that up at the ground level. And then, we got an email from Pascal saying we cannot leave the mattress there, and he will call the junk removal service and charge us $250 for doing that. He could actually check with us if we just leave the mattress there, or waiting for someone to pick it up, but he doesn't care. We feel like he just wants to charge us more and more money. 4. move out charge I was told to pay the fee for cleaning service and the full-paint (which is for covering the 2 scratches on the wall) after the move-out check. But it became $700 with 2 more charges added. We're asking for some detailed explanations, but we know Pascal will tell us we have to pay it anyway. We had a good experience talking with other folks in the team while leaving there, and the maintenance is usually very speedy. But I do recommend you check everything before trusting Pascal. This is the most terrible move-out experience in the U.S. for sure, I don't know if anyone else had a hard time during move-out in this apartment. It's a very long review and thanks for reading it through. We just want to get rid of Pascal as soon as we can, life is good, Seattle is good, don't want to waste life with him. read more

Hi again, I have finalized my move out process and it was excellent. Pascal and Brittany took care of everything and explained in detail the charges that were made. The 150.00 for the cleaning charges were used exactly for that and overall the other charges, such as painting or replacement of appliances, to my understanding were reasonable. When I first read the other reviews I was expecting hell, but it was completely the opposite. Like I mentioned in the initial review everyone was nice and helpful, which I appreciate greatly. And like every place you need to sign a lease for, CHECK AND READ EVERYTHING. Also take pics and video of your move in and move out. My partner and I moved to Seattle in 2018 and decided to make The Century our home. Our experience started as corporate housing guests and I must share that we never felt excluded or less than our renter neighbors in comparison to other corporate housing providers. Our experience was so great that we decided to make it official and call The Century "home." My partner and I have been living at The Century with our dog for a little over two years. We've had our fair share apartment living and our experience at The Century has been by far one of the best experiences we've had. The great location and awesome amenities speak for themselves, but it's the property team that makes this place something special. Pascal, Cristina, Esther, John, Mike and the rest of the crew are some of the nicest people you'll meet. You'll get a warm and friendly greeting when you walk through the doors - if you're a resident, I wouldn't be surprised if they greet you by name. Mike and the maintenance team are by far the best! I can't think of a time I've had to wait longer than a day or two to get something taken care of. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the team has worked extra hard to help keep things clean and the community healthy and safe. Aside to this, the team has also continued to find creative ways to engage with the community - we've had virtual DJs and dance parties, food trucks for lunch, resident spotlights to help get to know our neighbors on Instagram, holiday decorating competitions, wine tasting, personal services (e.g. massages, haircuts), raffles with opportunities to win gift cards and rent credits, and so much more! Our lease was recently up for renewal and there was no question with our decision to renew. If you're looking for a place to call home with some pretty awesome perks, then look no further than The Century! read more

I've experienced a multiple safety issues (not isolated issues, they continue daily) while living at The Century over the past 6 months. I have been unsuccessful in getting Pascal Coufal (the property manager) or Diana Norbury (Sr. VP at Pillar Properties) to take any action to fix the issues. One issue is related to a lack of support for COVID-19 social distancing and with aggressive/out of control dogs in the building. By sharing this information, I hope you can use this information to make a more informed rental decision. I was recently the victim of aggression on the part of another tenant, as a result of asking them to maintain the recommended social distancing. As a result of this event, I've asked Pascal and Diana to implement guidelines; 1 tenant per elevator car, since you cannot maintain proper distancing and exposer in the elevator is longer then recommendations provided by the CDC. Other property management companies implemented this policy at the beginning of March to protect tenants and staff from unwanted aggressive incidences + general protection from potential COVID-19. My friends who live in these buildings all report feeling safer and appreciate that it helps people be respectful. My request was denied, and they will not intervene even through "leaving it up the tenant to request space if they are uncomfortable" resulted in me being accosted by another tenant. They had no response, when I pointed out this intentionally or unintentionally sends a message that aggression is acceptable in this building. I also requested they post signage reminding tenants to respect social distancing guidelines, not everyone is and there aren't any 6ft reminders outside of Pascal's office. Diana's response was "we don't post signs all over the building whenever a resident requests it". Unfortunately, it's more important to avoid a potential complaint than enforce social distancing and prevent aggressive incidents when a tenant doesn't feel like respecting someone else choice to not risk potential exposure. Managing the coronavirus pandemic has been challenging and now I have to deal with the fear of not being able to stay safe and risking being attacked (verbally and/or physically) if I ask for space. This is unbelievable and surreal lack of responsibility on the part of Pascal and Pillar. In addition, to the COVID issues I have also struggled with aggressive and out of control dogs in the building. This a long standing and well-known issue among other tenants, which was not disclosed to me prior to lease signing. Given the degree in which it exists, I feel Pillar should have been required to disclose this issue. I spoke with Pascal about the issue within 2 weeks of moving in, he acknowledge his awareness of it and suggested inconvenient ways to navigate around the issue. Only after I called him out on not fixing the root cause did he reluctantly post two fliers by the pet area on the 10th floor. No one paid attention to these and unfortunately my dog was bitten (completely unprovoked) and there have been multiple times I have been unable to exit or enter the elevator due to dogs lunging and barking. I have to leave my apartment 4 times a day to walk my dog, I do not feel safe exiting or entering the building. I do not recommend this building for individuals with dogs and/or small children. Google Pillar if you want to a more realistic view into tenant reviews (ie: this is not a great company). While Windsor is more expensive, they offer much better customer service and are being very proactive in supporting their tenants during this time. I informed Pascal of the dog that bit my dog, the dog remains in the building & is not muzzled not corrective action was taken. Other tenants have experienced aggression w/ that dog and others and it's ongoing not a one off experience. No emails or notifications have been posted in the tenant area to respectfully remind people to maintain a safe social distance. No actions have been taken. Instead of helping resolve the issue, they've tried to bury my review w/ 3 canned reviews posted literally at the same time following my review, you can see the pattern of doing the same to other reviews who didn't give them 5 stars here and at other pillar properties) Dealing with them is similar to dealing with an abusive BF. As a tenant, if you have issues your only recourse will be to seek outside assistance. I have a disability and they refuse to make even minimal request to accommodate. Hopefully, their parent company which manages senior living, is doing a better job given the pandemic. Quietly awesome is their slogan--the awesome is definitely quiet, it's inaudible. Good luck and stay safe. On 5/8/20, they reopened some community areas, as expected groups of people w/o masks started congregating, no one following social distancing guidelines. None of the positive reviewers are people you will recognize as tenants in the building. read more

When my wife and I moved from Cleveland, Ohio to Seattle, we did something kinda crazy and rented an apartment without ever seeing the complex... Thankfully, and we tell this to each other all the time, we REALLY lucked out with the Century. From the beginning, Jerrel was incredibly helpful and considerate - virtually walking us through the unit and complex and helping us take care of all the details thousands of miles away. We've lived at the Century for the past 8 months and have had 0 complaints. The location is perfect for Emerald City newbies as there's easy access to the highways and bus routes to veritably any place in the city - plus you can walk all the way past downtown to Safeco field in about thirty minutes - seriously perfect location. As a pet parent, the Century is about as Dog Friendly as you can get, with a dedicated run-in on the roof for exercise and potty activities. The other amenities are great too, especially the gym which has all the equipment we need. If you're new to Seattle, the Century is the perfect spot for you in your amazing new city - you won't regret your new home! read more

Where do I even start? To put it simply, my experience at The Century has been unmatched in pretty much every aspect of residential living I've experienced thus far. Let's start at the beginning. When I did a virtual tour of the community, I got to meet the incredible Cristina Proa who was unbelievably knowledgable, kind and accommodating. There were countless apartment options at the time given our current circumstances, but it was clear to me that this place was something special based on my interaction with her. I stopped my search, turned in my application and had an acceptance to the community within hours. I've never had such a fast turnaround before! As someone who was moving from out of state but is also a planner, Cristina continued to provide amazing service prior to my move date. She went into the complex and measured the entire space and took pictures of every room so I could begin planning how I would utilize it even though I wouldn't be moving in for over two months. Every time I had something shipped prior to my move date, they would put it in the unit so I could easily access it on my move day. It was so above and beyond and made my life so much easier, which provided a highly differentiated experience. I've now been living at this apartment complex for nearly 6 months and can confidently say that the level of service that Cristina provided prior to my move-in is the standard across the board. Every single person I've interacted with at the property, including the property manager, resident manager and maintenance crew, provides an unbelievable experience every time. They are friendly, kind and obviously very committed to providing a very high level of customer service. Additionally, the property manager does an incredible job of creating community events (which is super hard to do during COVID) that enhance the lives of his residents. I am regularly reflecting on the fact that this is an amazing place to live and how lucky I am to be here. Lastly, I'll talk about the actual unit I'm in. The great thing about this building is that in addition to traditional units, they offer townhouse style homes, meaning it contains two separate levels in the unit and can be accessed directly on the street level - no need for individuals to use the callbox to get to you! This has been a godsend for me as someone who has to work from home every day, as I can work in my office on the 2nd floor and then separate from work completely in the main living space on the 1st floor. It's made coping with working through COVID so much more bearable. Outside of the actual setup, the units are beautiful, have a great layout, and the appliances are of high quality. They are also very well insulated and I rarely hear my neighbors, and on the rare occasions that I do, it's always very minimal and never occurs past quiet hours. There are so many options you can consider when looking for a new apartment home in Seattle, and it can be extremely overwhelming. I give The Century my whole-hearted recommendation and can confidently say that if your search stops here, you won't be disappointed! read more

Absolutely love living at Century. We've had no bad experiences whatsoever and find Century great for singles, couples and families alike. The plus is also that it attracts a great group of residents so a great chance to become friends with your neighbour! Customer service: we were initially attracted to Century for reviews on customer service. Everyone raved about the team and it's all true. + Our tour and welcome process with Pascal was seamless: the information provided was accurate, timely and Pascal made himself available to answer our every question. + The team is always available to help. I've sent questions via email, through the portal, gone in person...no matter the means, they find a way to help + Resident events: I love the Hump-Day treats, evening events like Grilled Cheese Night, participation in group events like Macaron making to name a few. It's a great chance to mingle with other residents, chat to the team, and personally, a nice way to connect with other parents who bring along their small children (I also have a bub so lots to talk about and playdates to organize!) Maintenance: In all cases, the Maintenance team have resolved issues within a few hours. A special shout-out to Roger who came in for one issue and spotted 3 others on his way out and fixed them all in under 10 minutes! These guys know what they're doing and have friendly smiles. In the recent snowstorm, they came out to make sure that we were ok (we live in one of the street-facing apartments so the team made sure the salts were out for us). What more can we ask for Amenities: Outdoor rooftop w bbq and seating, dog-run that is always spotless and sanitary, indoor rooftop area with arcade games, large communal table, kitchen area and tv. There is even a wine cellar for rent (reasonably priced too!). Gym is well equipped and clean. Theatre room connection is great and the lounges in there are comfy. There is also a garage that as a resident, you can book more permanently or for shorter timeframes. Apartments: Our apartment is well laid out, with great appliances (modern dishwasher, convection stove, gas oven, washer and dryer in-unit). What can I say. My wife and I moved into the The Century almost two years ago when we transferred jobs to Seattle, and we have absolutely no regrets. Pascal and his team - Jerrel, Vee, Adriana -- are the best. The maintenance crew (Mike, Fred, Dan, Roger, hope I'm not missing anyone) are friendly and get to work right away if (very few) and when there are any problems. When we moved, we looked at several other apartment complexes around this general area. And every time we saw another unit -- my wife would say, "The Century is better" Location is great. We walk to work, walk to restaurants, walk to the grocery store (Whole Food, QFC, Metropolitan, Amazon GO all nearby) -- units are nice with modern appliances (9th floor) -- community areas are great. Rooftop has a great dog run for the pooches (and 99 percent of the other dog owners are courtesy). Once again... highly recommend living here. We even thought about leaving and buying a condo. But are just way too comfortable to want to move. read more

My husband and I have only lived at The Century for a month, but we could not be happier with our apartment and the staff! Not only is everyone here incredibly friendly, they are super helpful and always there to answer any questions we have-- and they respond to messages very quickly! While our apartment is smaller than previous ones we've lived in, it doesn't feel that way due to the layout. The energy efficient appliances are state-of-the art, and everything about our home feels so fancy yet homey. The neighborhood is also incredibly safe, quiet and close to so many different neighborhoods. We also moved to Seattle from Ohio, so we didn't know the area, but Jerrel even did a Facetime tour of the apartment for us since we could't be there in person! The amenities also are fantastic. The dog run on the roof is wonderful (our dog loves it!), and the gym has everything we need--plus it is never busy which is awesome! Everything is very well taken care of and never dirty too, which is a huge plus. Overall, our expectations have not only been met, but have been exceeded with The Century. The Century - Apartments Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Ultimately, we struggled with this building and ended up leaving. It didn't work for us. The building itself is in good shape. Concrete construction. Good sized kitchens with a lot of cabinet storage. Pretty large dog area on the roof. As I said previously, it is not a good fit if you cannot have frequent unit entry by maintenance and/or door knocks during the business day. We saw a slight improvement in hallway noise after some staff changes and continued requests for changes. But, maintenance notices still 8+ hour windows, and they schedule entries very frequently. Some break-in issues in the garage. Could have been our unit location, but very little natural light or fresh air comes in, even though windows are very large. For telecommuters, there are better buildings. For those gone 9-5, not a lot to be concerned about except the prices are a bit above market. read more

Century has an amazing team. They are always helpful and make staying here a delight. The apartments are spacious and well built, with good floor plans and good, fairly new appliances. The rooftop is beautiful and has good views of the space needle and downtown. There are two maintained fireplaces on the roof and good ample seating. The common room has enough seating too and a few games. The location is safe and easy to roam around. read more

Pros: - Responsive and friendly staff. - Spacious and well equipped gym. - Convenient location, 10-15 minute walk to most places in SLU. Cons: - Studio units have poor noise isolation. - Highly corporate with regards to both process and people. - Stressful move out experience. My 1.5 year stay at The Century culminated in a warm smile from the staff along with a long list of fines, which were then finalized regardless of previously noted damages. Like others seem to have experienced, this was coupled with ultimatums about credit bureau reports, 6 days from notice to required payment, and without actual invoices on the charged damages. The Century is still a good fit for prospective tenants who value location and responsive management. Hopefully things will improve as Pillar Properties takes into consideration the feedback noted here regarding the move out process. read more

I've been here two years and this is my favorite apartment building I have ever lived in. The building is nice, but what sets it apart is the staff. Pascal, Roger, Dan, John, Esther... really everybody who works here is fantastic. Coming home to people and staff who I like and am genuinely happy to see has been something I've never experienced in my 12 years as a renter. Staff turnover is pretty low too, which helps keep things feeling like a community. Good location, great rooftop, great pet friendly environment... hard to ask for more as a renter. I also have to say, that COVID-19 has made being a renter a pain, but Pascal and the staff keep things feeling clean, healthy, and as normal as things can be right now. read more

I moved here just two months ago and echo the sentiments of most of the reviews here. - The Staff- Pascal and his staff are top notch. Adriana Vargas was my leasing specialist and had me approved and ready to move-in in less than two days. Unheard of in Seattle. She also had a great welcome package waiting for me... nice touch. The few maintenance requests I've put in are taken care of in hours- not days. - The building- Unbelievably well insulated and the units are amazingly quiet. I'm on the 8th floor and have an iconic view of the Space Needle, the monorail (which you cannot hear) , and a sliver of Elliott Bay. I can't hear my neighbors at all. - Amenities- First Class. Feels like I live in a five star hotel. The roof has one of the best views in Seattle, Grills (ok BBQ's for you Seattlites), Firepit, and a cool dog park. - Location- Lower Queen Anne and near everything. You're literally LQA, Belltowne, and, South Lake Union all in one spot. A great find and couldn't be happier in my new home! read more

We've lived here for a year and really loved it here, everything is good except for a bit noisy but that's normal in downtown I suppose. All the staff are nice, friendly and efficient, especially Chad, he is always nice and patient. We just moved out several days ago and been asked to pay a 2,000 dollar fee for not cleaning something and broken something that might be broken before we moved in. In the manager's email we've been told that the back of the end of the drawer was broken, and somehow the floor was flooded and needs to be replaced. This is so disappointing, we never have any water leakage how can our floor is flooded. And we never notice anything wrong with the floor so this is just ridiculous. And if you do check the apartment status every time people move out, why don't you just fix it instead of waiting for new residents to report places needs to be replaced? We've learnt the lesson that before you move in, do check every blinds and the back of every drawer in case you have to pay for the wear and tear not caused by you. And when we questioned about where specifically needs to be replaced in the email, we've been told that if we don't pay we will be sent to the collection agency... we just asked nicely about where are the damages, never said that we won't pay... now it felt like a threaten. I really loved it there, but this move-out experience just make me sad. read more

I'm one of the originals and I have to say that I've had the best living experience here at The Century and I've lived at quite a few communities here in Seattle to compare it to. I personally have never had any issues with the management and they are always friendly and helpful. Yes, there's been quite a few changes in staff. I mean...people do get promoted, life events happen or they move on. The service is still consistent. This includes maintenance. The homes are pretty spacious with nice finishes and appliances. They also have AC which is a huge plus. The summers here are pretty mild, but it's just nice to have. Someone mentioned in another review that there are too many maintenance requests to enter the homes. They give you plenty of notice and it's usually to change the air filter. A building having air conditioning is like a luxury in Seattle. They get in and get out. Let's not be dramatic about it. We recently just had them do their yearly fire alarm testing. This is something ALL buildings do. Yes, it's annoying and it usually happens on my days off, but I'd like to be assured that my building is up to code. Its an apartment community. What do you expect? Pets. There's lots of them. Good luck finding a building that doesn't have them. Maintenance does their best to clean up accidents when they're notified. The hallways are shampooed often, which I really appreciate. I don't know if pet owners, not all, but most, think that the mess will magically disappear, but c'mon. Don't have a pet if you can't clean up after it. As long as buildings accept pets, this is going to happen everywhere. The only thing I don't like is pets being allowed in the common areas. The theatre room...really? Packages. In the beginning they used to be kept in the package room and you could only retrieve them during business hours which would mean for most of us, we wouldn't be able to get them until your day off. I personally like that they are making the carriers deliver directly to your door. There's nowhere in the lease that says they are required to accept packages. They do it as a courtesy. If you lived in a house, it would be dropped off on your porch anyways. Security. This isn't a secure building nor has it ever claimed to be. It's controlled access which means it's up to all of us to ensure we don't let people piggy back as we enter. This includes the garage gates and waiting for it to close behind you. There's been many times that notices were issued regarding this and yet it seems to go over ones head. The previous buildings I've lived at had courtesy patrol that would come at random times briefly and mostly just sit in their vehicle and not even bother to get out. There is security here all night so I'm not sure why one of the reviews claimed they could never be found. I like knowing someone is patrolling the premises at all times and ensuring that any transients that may try to linger, move along. This is a city, people. There's homeless EVERYWHERE. Shocker. I apologize for the long review and yes, this is my personal experience and opinion. Everyone's experience may differ, but I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here and appreciate the management and maintenance staff. read more

I absolutely loved living in The Century apartment! It was my favorite part of living in Seattle. What's to love? 1. Top notch staff -- Pascal, John, Brittany and Shahrzad are wonderful. They greet you with a friendly smile on your way in, solve any issues with your apartment, and work really hard to make The Century an amazing community to live in. Similarly, the maintenance staff quickly resolve open tickets. I had two issues with my apartment, and both were resolved within a day. 2. The Apartment -- the units are kept in tip-top shape. Everything is gleaming, from the paint, to the countertops and floors. My apartment had a "hey-mom-I-moved-to-Seattle" view of the Space Needle. I had a 1BR+Den unit, and with a ton of storage in the kitchen, a huge pantry, and space to store belongings in the W/D closet. I also had space for my rather large dining table, and buffet. Other units in Seattle do not have so much space. Also, the unit is so quiet -- you can't hear anything from outside or neighboring apartments. 3. The Amenities -- I really loved how much space The Century kept aside for amenities. How can you beat that rooftop -- herb garden, fire pits, heaters, grills, and the view is legitimately the best in the area. In addition, there is a sky club, dog park, resident lounge ("the hub") with free tea and coffee, board games, arcades. The gym takes up half of the second floor. A theater room rounds it off. 4. Location, location, location -- The Century is tucked into a central but quiet part of town. It's not as loud as Belltown, but not as quiet as Queen Anne. It's kind of the perfect combination of the two. I had a short 15 min walk to work, Pike Place Market, and Whole Foods. There are a variety of quality restaurants, coffee shops and bars close by. The Seattle Center, and museums are just next door. Other highlights -- the community is green ... compost and recycling are easy! read more

This apartment building is certainly one of the best in Seattle! Having lived is several apartment buildings downtown and in Belltown, The Century impresses me as being incredibly well-managed, in a great location with excellent dining nearby, and enjoyable amenities onsite. Pascal, the property manager, really cares about his residents and aims to deliver an amazing experience by hosting regular social events. The views from the rooftop deck, large community room, and private wine cellars (that residents can rent to store their high-end bottles) are some of the highlights of the building. I have been a resident of The Century Apartments since May 1 of this year. I have never lived in Seattle nor in an apartment building, although I did rent a townhome previous to this place. This was a new experience for me. After looking at several apartments, I chose The Century. Why? 1. Great Location 2. Beautiful building 3. Amenities 4. Quality construction. 5. Layout of my studio. 6. I read reviews prior to signing. Now that I have been here for three months, I'm very pleased. I cannot hear my neighbors. There is nothing that I have wished they had added to my apartment. It's well designed and well appointed. This building has Central air conditioning so it's not necessary to get separate portable floor units that vent out. Pascal, the manager, has been amazing in making sure all the details are running smoothly as well as all the major day to day responsibilities that a large apartment complex demands and John and Brittany, part of his team, add so much to the welcome atmosphere and warm ambience. There are social activities to encourage residents to meet each other and the ones I have been to illustrate how much effort goes into planning these get togethers. I have had some minor maintenance issues and they have been handled quickly and professionally. I have never been unhappy with the results. Mike is the maintenance supervisor who is always kind and courteous and his team of Roger, Dan and Ben are all great. I hope they all stay. I would give zero stars if I could. Just like some other reviewers wrote. Everything is built with cheapest shit, and be broken in no time. Maintenance workers can do no more than changing light bulbs. What's worse is, they will say you do not know how to use the stuff that has a problem, like a washer, when they cannot fix it, which is pretty much everything other than changing light bulbs. They will come in multiple times and disturb you, and acting like they are the god, instead of they are providing a service the renters have paid for. They behave so rudely and arrogantly too. Don't expect the property management would do anything to make things right if the maintenance can't do and too lazy to do their jobs either. The AC cannot be set to be the auto mode, and their arguments about it is it would vary negative or positive three degrees from where you set it, to keep their building green .... Wise people will not come here. You would want to leave in no time and then you would have to move again!!! What's more, just like every corporate reply here from the Century to every other negative but true reviews, they really do not try to make things right, other than continuing blaming tenants for their low quality everything and incompetent maintenance team even on Yelp. We've rented other places, with some of them much cheaper, all left on good terms and had good experiences brought by the property management. This level of incompetence, cheaply built apts with low quality of everything, shamelessness, not care at all attitude is tremendously shocking! read more

Prior to moving in to the Century, I have spent time in the building with friends. Seen and used some of the amenities. The common areas are always clean and neat. The rooftop offers one of the most amazing views in Seattle! Convenient location. Managed by a cordial and responsive team. Thus when a friend (current tenant) informed me of an upcoming vacancy in July, I immediately went to see the leasing office. Then it became a reality - I am now a tenant. :) Pascal and his leasing team are very professional, responsive, and personable. They have surpassed my expectation with their follow-ups. The application process was seamless. Adriana Vargas is a ROCKSTAR leasing specialist! When it was time to pick up my key, a welcome package was waiting for me in the unit. The good stuff that you can consume and use, not only your random marketing stuff. Very much appreciated the personalized gesture! A month later, I am settled in and am absolutely enjoying my new home. Loving the AC too! I have enjoyed a couple of events that they hosted since my move-in. The fruit infused water and weekly pastries in the lobby are a nice treat. The Century is definitely a great choice and I recommend it! read more

Moved here from San Francisco about two years ago, signed my lease at The Century over the internet without visiting the property first. I was so impressed when I finally arrived with how well the property is maintained, how friendly the entire staff is, and how conveniently located the building is. I sold my car prior to moving here and travel by foot 90% of the time. The grocery store is walking distance, as well as plenty of restaurants, bars, and other businesses that are essential to living. My friends and family love visiting me because of how close I am to all the fun tourist attractions too! The gym is spacious, the theater room is awesome for game day or watching movies with friends and neighbors, and the rooftop is my absolute favorite hang out over the summer!! If you're looking for a great place to live near work or just enjoy being downtown, choose The Century! Your puppy will enjoy it just as much as you! read more

I've been living here for 10 days now and I think I have enough data points to write an update. Move In: First off, the move in was extremely smooth. They kept the garage door and an elevator reserved and open for us to get all our stuff it. They also provide multiple carts and dollies of different sizes that are super useful to move furniture in. Staff: The staff here at the Century is extremely friendly. They are very quick and responsive to your needs and always go out of the way to help you. Chris is ready to drop whatever he's doing to resolve your problem, Genevieve was very helpful when I needed an urgent print out and my printer hadn't been set up yet. Marco was the one who showed us our apartment and helped us make our decision within an hour. He was very gracious in repeatedly showing my wife and me 3 apartments that we were considering until we could make up our mind. Matt is the manager and a solid guy. Apartments: The apartments are huge. Honestly they are some of the largest I've seen in/around downtown especially for the price. They have the latest modern stainless steel appliances, beautiful well thought out floorplans and loads of storage space. There are lots of plug points in every room that make it convenient to connect devices. The hardwood flooring is easy to clean. They have lights in all the rooms and a central console to control the heat/air conditioning. Huge windows that open all the way provide loads of natural night and ventilation. The apartments on the west also have a beautiful view of the space needle. Easily the best apartment I've lived in so far in the Seattle area. Amenities: The rooftop lounge is awesome. There are comfortable couches around the TV which were great to watch the SuperBowl in. They also have lots of couches, chairs and tables spread across the room. Because of the fast internet, you will often find folks working/studying there as they enjoy the gorgeous view. They also have gas stoves, an oven, a microwave, kitchen counters and a fridge + freezer which makes it nice to host a part there. The second lounge on the roof is a little smaller but is awesome for smaller groups to enjoy quick meals and play board games. They also have a lot of gas fire grills and chairs on the which I'm sure will be very useful in the summer. Every set of seating on the roof has it's own fireplace so it's nice to stay warm at night. The gym is extremely well equipped with every kind of machine imaginable and is one of the best I've seen at any apartment in Seattle. It's open 24x7 so you can always plan to avoid the evening rush(which isn't honestly much). They also have a nice movie theater that can seat 12 in a very comfortable manner. Pets: I've seen a few folks with dogs here. They have a part of the roof designated as a dog play area so it's super cute to see them running around there. There's absolutely no nuisance from them in common areas so it's all good. Parking: Parking like most places in downtown is a little tight and pretty expensive. On the positive side though, it's covered, assigned spots and there's 2 gates you need to get through to reach your spot so it's very secure. Overall I would very highly recommend The Century to anyone looking for a new home. Absolutely loved every single thing about it and I'm really glad to be living here. read more
