The good news - my bike was repaired within 24 hours and the various repair prices were quoted so there were no surprises. The young man who helped me asked good questions ad to what I needed, was friendly and knowledgeable. He said if there were any additional charges, he would call me which I appreciated. My repair cost $85 which I thought was fair and reasonable. What was a pain were two things; there is no ramp into the shop via the sidewalk - NOT the bike shop's fault I understand - nor was there a ramp inside the shop - just stairs - so getting a full-size bike in and out was awkward, to say the least. My repaired bike was rolled out to me in the store and the young man who retrieved it carried it up the stairs and said, even though I said my van was two cars over, I'll put it on the sidewalk.' While I am a pretty fit person, I AM a senior citizen and I would have appreciated his putting it in my van. read more

Being 71 years old and bringing in my grandsons rather heavy Mountain bike I almost didn't come here due to review about stairs. Well, there is a well marked handicapped ramp for entrance and only three wide, low steps inside to roll bike down. Please don't avoid this shop. Access is fine. read more

I've had them work on several bikes. Everything from a tire not properly sitting in the wheel, to new brake cables, and a front/rear derailleur overhaul with a new shifter. They also have great accessories! It would suck to not have the Chain Link in town. read more

The Felt Bike I bought today truly is a smooth and quite ride. I bought it at this shop that's just off the plaza before you get to the San Antonio bridge. They gave me the personal attention of a little place and had the knowledge and experience of bikes you would think could only be found in a bigger store. Trusting what they said about bikes and different components, they put me in a bike that will help me get back in shape quickly. This is a fabulous local business! And now they are offering RENTALS! Such a fun way to see New Braunfels. They have been in New Braunfels for almost 10 years and have provided excellent service. I think I would rather go to Austin or San Antonio. The store is super crowded and not kid friendly, even though the first picture is a picture of a child carrying a bike box. There is a dog who is not kid friendly who is the mascot. I also feel like the owner is not really interested in customer service. I was very unimpressed with the two visits I had. This is the only place in New Braunfels, so if you can't travel, it will suffice. Not sure why people rave about it. I'm going to pass on a revisit. read more

This is a really nice bike shop. It is locally owned and just the kind of business I like to support. I made a mistake in a bike purchase at one of the larger shops in Austin. I had described what kind of riding I wanted to do and they made a recommendation. Because of COVID, I was unable to test ride even in the parking lot. I followed their recommendation as they knew more about bikes than I did. By the time the return window had passed I realized that the bike was not best for my needs. After figuring out what bike would work best for me, the big bike shop did not have any in stock and wanted a big deposit to hold while I waited for one. They could not tell me even when they might have it. I called The Chain Link and they had exactly what I wanted. They even gave me a fair price trade for my mistake bike which helped cushion the blow. They were really friendly and the shop had a really good vibe. Definitely worth the drive from Austin to check them out. read more

What a great bike shop - every time I go in they're able to get me fixed up no problem. They always know what I need parts wise and generally have it in stock but if not, it's ordered and I get a call within a day or so. The mechanics are great and don't try to oversell me on parts or replacements unless neccessary. read more

Rinky dink little shop charged me to put my chain on without even asking! I had a chain tool in my car! It is ridiculous that a small shop would try and nickel and dime you.
