If you're in the NB or SM area, go here if you need adjustment on an internal gear hub!! Great customer and technical service. I have a bike with a Shimano internal hub that needed to be calibrated; it would skip when I had to pedal hard uphill. I took to another shop in the area that wasn't able to solve it, they told me it was "bad" and that it would "get worse", needing a new one eventually. I called Trek; Chris was very patient with me over the phone and Drew readjusted the tension on it! They took the time to explain the issue and how they solved it. I will bring bikes there in the future, especially the two that I have with internal gear hubs. Thanks again! read more

Great team here - we went 3 different times to select a bike for me and each time had someone different help us. They were each knowledgeable, patient, and were genuinely trying to help find the best fit regardless of its price tag. The store is well organized and easy to walk around and check out options. Even during peak market demand, they carried good inventory. The only challenge is that their parking area gives you bit of a feel for the bike but not completely how it would be on a road or unpaved land. read more

I took my bicycle to Trek Bicycles & they were able to change my very worn out chain with a brand new one. Now my bike works really good & they were also able to lower my bike seat, so I could easily get off & on my bike. The value was good, not too expensive. Fantastic place to get a bike! The service was great and on a first try they found what I needed! I told them something i can ride to work and yet attempt a sprint tri on sometime, like a hybrid. They found exactly that. I was sad there were no color options, but with the state of things right now, i was just happy they had bikes! They are very open and honest and I loved that I was able to test ride my bike before purchasing. They make it a minimal contact process and it's so easy. Very quick and efficient! I will definitely be back for any additions I may need in the future or if I ever want to trade it up. It is a crazy time we are living in because of the Corona Virus but these guys did a PHENOMENAL job in making sure everyone was safe/sanitized/and HAPPY! My husband and I snagged 2 trek bikes. I got a Small and I am 5'3. My husband got an XL and he is 6'3. They were only about $439 each. For $100 extra bucks, we could've got a water bottle, water bottle holder, bike bell, little bag for credit card/phone for bike seat, and a little computer thing that tells you your speed. It's honestly a good deal but we didn't buy it because we didn't really need it. We mainly bought the bikes to have an outdoor activity to do during Corona pandemic other than just walking or running. We love Pedal Power Bicycle and recommend them. They bring the bikes out to you so that you can ride it and test it out in the parking lot. They have a glass shield in between them at the register and hand sanitizer was available next to the register. They also were all wearing masks - overall, an amazing experience. read more

The whole shop is fantastic. Pallo the manager made the buying experience super easy and fun. He went totally out of his way to get me exactly what I wanted, down to every last detail. Drew the mechanic who built my bike up made sure everything was perfect to the point when it came time to be fitted to it it needed virtually no adjustment. Came here looking for a bike. I haven't ridden a bike of my own this century, so you can say it has been a while. I was looking for a very casual re-entry into the pool and was pleasantly surprised with the sales person's helpfulness. No pressure, very informative and down right exactly what I needed. While I was there, a person with obviously hundreds of miles on their legs (maybe even that many in the last week) was being helped by another salesperson. Getting equal help at their level (which is somewhere in the "quite beyond me" realm). I would recommend this spot as somewhere to get a new bike, upgrade a bike or have yours worked on. read more

My bicycle was stolen last summer which was a huge bummer since I had it for more than three years and as anyone who has tried to find a bicycle this past year just knows how difficult it has been. I had called and visited a bunch of LBS' near me but none of them had what I wanted and my size in stock until I decided to check past the city. I really like how their website is accurate with what they have in stock but I called ahead anyway just in case. I already had an idea with what I wanted but tried a couple different brands and styles before deciding on one and taking it home. This shop has a 5 day exchange policy and after riding the bike I bought for a few miles I just knew it wasn't as good a fit I thought it would be and after doing some more research I went back to try and find something that is much better for my awkward fit. I'm a type of person who has a hard time deciding what they want and really needs time to think about it. I really appreciate how the two guys working today let me spend close to two hours so I could ride around and feel them all out all my options on my own but still answer my questions when I had them. A huge plus about their location is that not only do they have a big paved lot to ride around in, they also have a decent amount of dirt/grass that people can ride on as well which is great because you can really get a better feel for any off-roading you may do. There's no restroom for customers to use which is understandable but thankfully there is a Target literally on the other side of the freeway so keep that in mind. Overall I'm really happy with my experience at this shop and won't hesitate to recommend them to friends who may want a new bike of their own. read more

I write this review after attempting to shop locally in Austin for a new bike. I spoke with every bicycle shop in Austin (I am about as "buy-local" as they come) and came up empty handed and feeling as if I was a bother to almost every Austin bike sales person I spoke with. After a series of uncomfortable and disappointing retail experiences in Austin, my bike purchasing adventure led me to call a shop I heard about in San Marcos and everything changed. Pedal Power, we tried out this store, my dad and mom wanted to buy 2 bikes, the first time they came they met with a lady which they presumed to be one of the owners, she was very nice, they told her they would think about it and be back the next day. They came back the next day bringing my fiancé and I to help. My parents had no price limit just lots of questions. Well with that being said I had questions too, but some punk kid that was working couldn't be bothered, had the worst attitude, ignored me or over talked me to talk to my parents when they told me come with them, and talk to them because they know nothing about bikes. I was trying to get them helmets, lights, a bike for each of them and new seats for each. Both bikes being at least a 27 speed or better for what they needed them for. I asked different colors, different handle bars, I either got a yeah it comes in another color.... Okay well what are the colors ???? Or no. Bad bad bad service I went outside called around and went to downtown San Marcos where we felt like we weren't complete idiots had our questions answered and my parents bought 2 bikes from them totaling to around $1,500 with all the bells and whistles. Great service goes a long way, and so does a bad attitude. Will not be recommending this place to any of my friends until I know this problem has been resolved. This is a beautiful store, with A LOT of different choices and options and opportunities. They have really done great, just need a talking to the staff and I think they will be back on track. I am sure this boy is using this as a summer job and definitely doesn't want to be there. read more

Purchased a 2020 Trek Dual Sport 3 which I ordered after riding a DS 2 and a Giant Roam. Loved Tamara and team taking the time to assess my needs, discuss options and order my bike. However when I picked it up, I was in a hurry to beat traffic and didn't double check to ensure the fitment was perfect. We had an amazing experience at this bike shop. We came in right before closing, but did not feel rushed. Immediately, I was sized for a bike to ensure that I was getting the right size (I had originally had thought I was a different size). They were able to quickly and efficiently find the bike I wanted for the size that fit me perfectly and allowed me to test drive different sizes to make sure I felt good on the bike. I decided to go here to buy some more after leaving it flat for a while. Got great help, and a few tips on how to properly install them. Unfortunately, they still popped over night. But I went back the next day with the whole tires to have them replaced (thanks to their warranty). Had no issues with the replacement and they even did it for me. They popped while I was grabbing groceries on the way home. I immediately went back and ended up with a whole team working on a solution. Tamara (the lady that I assume owns the shop) greeted me promptly and made me feel incredibly comfortable. Since I am new to cycling, the cocky, arrogant attitude that other shops portray made me feel out of place. But not Pedal Power. I came in to buy a mountain bike. A friend of mine abandoned a bon terra Free Spirit bicycle in my yard. It sat out in the elements for 2 years. I'm moving and needed a bike so I thought I'd take it to Pedal Power to see what I needed to do to make it rideable again. I got the deluxe tune up and couldn't be more pleased with the results. This bike has been completely revitalized and it rides more solid than it did when it was new. Since many of the parts were replaced with higher-quality parts than came stock, I feel the investment was well worth the cost and I now have a great little commuter bike that feels safe and maneuvers precisely. The staff here were very helpful, friendly, and honest. I let them know what I was interested in doing and they took my measurements free of charge to fit me to the perfect bicycle. Since this is a big purchase to make, I asked a lot of questions and wanted to test out a lot of bikes. She was patient with me and did not hesitate to adjust any bike I tried to my measurements. Another store in town tried to sell me a bike that was too big based on my inseam because they didn't have any smaller. This is also the only store out of 4 I went to that did such intense measurements. There is a large selection of bikes here too! She also even went over the different parts of the bike so I could understand what I was paying for. They didn't try to coax me into something ridiculously expensive either. This is a great place to go for cyclists of any level. I didn't feel uncomfortable because I'm not an avid cyclist. She even gave me pointers. I definitely recommend this place to any bike shopper! I give it $$ because a bike can be an expensive investment, but I got a better deal here than any place in Austin. read more
