Worth every penny! Such a lovely environment with great theme and branding. The color changing spoon with such a cute touch. The staff and Service were so quick and so friendly. We had a few samples at the counter and made our decisions. The Maryland mud was just KILLER! I've never had that ice cream flavor before and I wish it was in my mouth now. It was such a hot day and it was such a nice break. The toasted strawberry was so subtle and so lovely a really high-end way to make strawberry, not traditional. I will most definitely be stopping back when visiting Baltimore again during any season. read more

Summer is almost here, which means it's officially ice cream season. After walking around and shopping, I needed a little pick-me-up and stopped by The Charmery. Super cute spot, clean, inviting, and with a great variety of flavors. Alex recommended the Maryland Mud and roasted strawberry, and both were absolutely delicious. Honestly, ice cream this good doesn't even need toppings. Pair it with a waffle cone, and it's the perfect combo. Street parking is available, but it can get pretty busy on the weekends. Don't be afraid to park a little farther away, it's worth the walk. Take your time walking to the shops around and then treat yourself to some ice cream at The Charmery. Good lord, I almost forgot about the red velvet cookie. Don't leave without getting one. read more

Charmery isn't necessarily on the top of my list when it comes to a scoop of ice cream but recently, their milkshakes have been rocking my world. You get a choice of two scoops for the shakes and I usually opt for the chocolate and vanilla since their chocolate by itself is a little too rich for me. The result is a perfect, creamy balance with the option to top with whipped cream. I would love to see more gluten free friendly options on the menu for more traditional flavors (a lot of them seem to have cookies and things mixed in) but for now, I'm loving the milkshakes. read more

Have been meaning to try The Charmery and finally made my way down to Hampden. There was a long line but it moved fairly quickly. Just peeking at the menu, there are a lot of flavors to try! There's also a freezer of additional pints and ice cream sandwiches for purchase. I tried the peanut butter chip, one scoop. The ice cream was smooth and overall had a great flavor. Looking forward to trying more flavors in the future! read more

Tuesday 3/25/25 I've had this spot on my list for a while, as it's a Maryland-based franchise and there was a spot in Baltimore, so I decided to make a visit. The service was fine, I was able to sample six different flavors (telltale, Maryland mud, pure vanilla, old bay caramel, spiced pineapple, and sour grapes) with no problem. Although many of the flavors were unique and creative, none of them really impressed me. I decided I had to leave with something, so I got a double cup of Maryland mud & pure vanilla $7.79. The ice cream was alright. They don't have a cookies n cream flavor, and Maryland mud is the closest thing to it. Maryland mud is chocolate ice cream, Oreo cookie pieces, and chocolate chips. It was cool, but didn't really do much for me. The vanilla was alright, but I really just got it to balance the chocolate overload from the Maryland mud flavor. The ice cream flavors weren't bad by any means, but for me, it wasn't very memorable, and I would not come back. read more

Love the unique flavors here! Had the ice cream sando and stay gold flavors--both creamy and with great textures. Lots of cute shops on the strip it's located on as well. Minimal seating indoors and outdoors; when the line gets longer and fill up the indoor space, people eat outside or walk and eat. Lots of street parking nearby! read more

I'm thrilled the weather is improving because that means the return of a favorite warm-weather pastime: going to the Charmery after an early evening meal and window shopping. Make no mistake - I am known to enjoy a scoop of mint mountain year round. I don't need an excuse. It's not easy to put in words, but there's something ceremonial and sacred to me about the scent of freshly pressed waffle cones leading me down the Ave on a sunset stroll. Yummy ice cream! Loved the unique flavors. Tried: Old bay caramel: actually really yummy and not weird at all. Did get too sweet for me after a while. Sunday morning cartoons: so fun!! Loved it. Roasted strawberry: my favorite. Very mild sweetness and easy to eat a lot of. Spiced pineapple: really creamy and delicious. Also easy to eat more of. I liked the fact that we can get two kiddie scoops! Game changer for someone who can't finish two regular scoops of ice cream but wants variety. They have a little card that you can stamp every time you get ice cream and after enough you can spin a wheel to win a free cone! read more

Each Christmas my family and I make it a mandatory stop to visit the charmery for hot chocolate! It is a staple family tradition at this point. Yesterday we attended the Charmery it is adorable location in hampden. The people were wonderful and so accommodating to our large order and disfunction. Cute ice cream shop! Located in busy Hampden. Parking could be tricky. I snagged a spot a few blocks away. There's not really any seating inside. On a hot summer day, the place was packed. It was my first time here, but i got a good recommendation. They let you sample, and I was curious about the old bay caramel - it was different but not for me. I settled on the salty caramel. I liked it, but it melted way too quickly! Prices aren't terrible. read more

This local ice cream chain remains my favorite in Baltimore. The flavor creations are fun and unique, the ingredients are quality, and the menu rotates at a good frequency. I love when they experiment with alcohol flavors too - mezcal and fig and red wine poached pear. Service is always quality and while I do think they should get rid of the disposable plastic spoons, the ones they use change colors when you dip them into your ice cream. read more

Came here for an after dinner treat and could not be more pleased! The ambiance and storefront is very cute, and the staff is friendly. (Bonus points for one of the staff members knowing which types of sprinkles had gluten and which types didn't - wow). I got "pure vanilla" with rainbow sprinkles (because I'm basic like that) and loved it - great creamy quality yet didn't melt too easily. After seeing the Charmery on the news, I knew I had to stop by to try their infamous Carmel old bay flavored ice cream. As soon as I walked in I was surrounded by the yummy smell of freshly made waffle cones. The staff is super friendly and they allowed me to try so many flavors (side note: you try the flavors with an actual metal spoon, good way to prevent so much plastic waste). I enjoyed the Carmel old bay but will only eat this when it's that time of the month. The Charmery also offers staple classics along side the fun seasonal flavors. I ended up ordering one scope of the mint mountain in a waffle cone. I plan to come back often this summer. This is my new staple ice cream spot in Baltimore. Love the ice cream and the ever changing flavors at The Charmery. My only complaint is that the person helping me had loose hair, which ended up on my ice cream as she bent down to get the 2nd scoop. I cannot do hair touching my food! I let the cashier know and she had the cone made again. Thankfully, I was watching and saw it happen , because the employee didn't realize. I hope employees pull their hair back so this doesn't happen again or to other customers ! read more

Oh, Charmery. As many times as we come to Hampden I try to avoid you because of the delicious ice cream-- so dangerous! Two of us stopped here last night in search of some of the best since cream in Baltimore. I got the PBJ ice cream (raspberry jelly) with rainbow sprinkles (because life is short) and this was truly a transcendental experience. The local ice cream place of Hampden had a stand outside offering hot chocolate, but the weather was not so cold as to dissuade me from going inside and ordering ice cream. The hot chocolate looked good though. The ice cream had a variety of flavors, some rather Maryland-specific. I couldn't quite bring myself to try "Old Bay Caramel". My Maryland Mud and a fresh mint flavor were quite sufficient, and were smooth and rich. Service was surprisingly inefficient given the short line. It was on the pricey side, even for premium ice cream, and I wasn't convinced that it was worth doing on more than an occasional basis. But the quality was there. read more

Old bayyyy!! A few months ago, Brian David Gilbert partnered with The Charmery to release a special ice cream flavor. As my husband had been tinkering with Brian's ice cream flavors, including old bay, we had to stop by when we were in the area to see if they had this flavor and to try their old bay ice cream. When were arrived around 9:30 pm on a Saturday, it was packed and had a long line, but the line moved fast and gave me time to decide on which flavors to try. I got three flavors - old bay caramel, coconut goody goody gum drop and honey feta. The honey feta was my favorite one - the sweet honey paired beautifully with the salty and tangy feta flavor. The old bay caramel was good though I wished they included corn meal and celery in it as it was more caramel-ly than old bay! The coconut one was quite interesting - it almost tastes like a sour beer with the raspberry jam. The mochi was a great textural addition. All of the ice creams were very creamy. Oh and I also got a waffle cone on top, which is like a whole waffle cone instead of a shard of waffle cone at some other ice cream joints! If you are asking, was this a lot of ice cream? Yes, yes it was. I could only get through half of my 3 ice creams, but I split the waffle cone with my husband and this definitely satiated my ice cream craving! read more

This location of the Charmery has the least amount of indoor seating. It also has the cleanest look. The ice cream selection is the same as the other locations. Lots of inventive flavors of regular ice cream as well as flavors that are always available. These include chocolate, vanilla and a strawberry version (which are my family's go-tos). Waffle cones are freshly made on site. The vegan offerings are done well but lack the inventiveness and choices that the regular ice cream has. If you are into inventive (or even not inventive) handcrafted ice cream, The Charmery has your back. If you want good vegan ice cream in typical flavors, the Charmery can do that too. But if you want vegan options and unique vegan flavors, there are better places to check out in and around Baltimore. read more

The Charmery has some of the best ice cream in Baltimore. It's rich, it's creamy, and there are always a few very unique flavors that don't exist anywhere else. They always have at least one vegan ice cream and a sorbet. And the best part is the loyalty punch card program - once you reach the end of your card you get to spin a wheel for a prize. read more

There are lots of fruit flavored but I was craving their hazelnut gelato made with imported Piedmontese hazelnuts. Heavenly! Those ladies scooped me up something that's free of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives. I mean, grass fed cows are providing the organic milk for this Baltimore staple. Sadly, they didn't have any cookies n cream at the moment, but luckily they did have the honey graham. The service was solid: the worker was nice and I was able to sample four flavors (key lime pie, honey graham, vanilla bean, and chocolate love) without any issue. After sampling the flavors, I decided to get a triple cup of 2x honey graham and 1x vanilla bean. - The honey graham was like that (I see why it's popular). I let my mom sample it, and she enjoyed it so much that she got her own the next day. - The vanilla bean was pretty good and paired well with the honey graham. This spot has some good ice cream that I'd be open to returning for more (hopefully they have cookies n cream next time).

If only the desserts were saving grace, but was left disappointed as well. As others have mentioned, the pastries do not taste fresh. The ricotta cream in the original cannoli tasted warm and gritty, the shell was stale. I noticed these were sitting out. The puff pastry in the Napoleons were soggy. The cream puffs shell was stale and chocolate topping was super sweet, unfortunately these were far from heavenly. Maybe another day, Vaccaro.

Cannoli is infilled until you order. The best cannoli ever. Hands down.

I called the store simply to ask what happened, but before I could even finish my question, the employee interrupted me, said, "We're busy right now," and hung up on me. When I called back to understand why I had been hung up on, I was passed from person to person without anyone taking responsibility. The only explanation I received was, "We're busy and prioritize our in-person customers. Anything else?" I completely understand that restaurants get busy, and I have no issue with a delayed order or even an occasional cancellation if necessary. However, being treated dismissively, interrupted, and hung up on for asking a simple question is unacceptable. Being busy is not an excuse for disrespectful customer service. If your store is unable to fulfill DoorDash orders during busy periods, that's understandable--but don't accept them only to cancel them immediately, leaving customers waiting days for their money to become available again. A little courtesy and professionalism would have gone a long way.

Hate it when I get it and it is cold in the middle...the barista understood the assignment and got us right! There are lots of fun drink options ranging from smoothies, your typical coffee drinks, and frozen coffee drinks. I saw some other customers order food and I'll have to try that next because it looked nice and fresh. The baristas were so friendly too. There are two floors to the cafe. The second floor seemed to be the "work" floor when I was there. There were plenty of people doing work on their laptops and hanging out. I can see myself coming here to work a lot in the future :)

It was a community dinner party with Chef Char. You had a choice of a ticket with or without wine pairing. Me and my friend chose the ticket with wine pairing. The ticket included two glasses of wine. The menu was not printed online so we went in kinda blind on what was served. The first course was a roasted vegetable dish which consisted of broccoli, fingerling potatoes and pears with a Greek yogurt sauce. The second course was chicken thighs with risotto in a tomato sauce and the third course was a granola strudel with pears. There was also an arugula salad with grapefruit segments and parmesan cheese. I can be brutally honest, none of the courses were seasoned well. The first course was cold, the vegetables were wilted and did not mesh well. Was not expecting pears to be with my roasted vegetables. The second course was underwhelming as well. The food did not have any flavor and the dessert was not my favorite at all. I only ate the fruit out of the dessert. The chef did come out and let us know what each course was, however I felt that she really wasn't too personable with the guests. A few of the guests at the table were her friends so she only engaged with them, and of course they hyped her up, however the food was bland and underwhelming and the majority of the guests including myself did not finish their plates. If there is another community dinner, I hope it will be with a different chef in mind As I stated before my review is of the event, not the business as a whole.
