So far, so great!! I am late to the Streets Market and Cafe party, but I am present. I overheard colleagues discussing this place and had immediate FOMO!! I visited for the 1st time 2 weeks ago, and I have been at least 4-5 times already. I love how fresh the food is on the hot deli bar, and I am so thankful that it's behind protective glass for an employee to gather and present instead of it being in an open area, etc. Although the cashiers are normally less than excited to see any customer, they work fast, and efficient. It works for me. I will surely continue to support this market and recommend to friends and family. read more

I'm compensating for my laziness in 2018, when I posted photos but apparently didn't have time for a two-sentence review. They have some Whole Foods vibes in a smaller and more crucially located space. I liked this place enough that I returned even though my hotel isn't nearby (man, sure feels luxurious to get a bag with groceries, sorry not sorry). I got a fruit salad that resembles the Whole Foods kind, but cheaper, and perused the boutique beverage selection where I got Corpse Reviver electrolyte beverage, guava rose edition. And this was the first time I've seen a Droewors beef stick so I got one. read more

Whoa!!! So mad I slept on this market!! I've been living in this area for 5yrs and never stopped in. For some reason, I did today.... the market is small but has everything and more! I've been on this earth for a while now and I've NEVER seen meat laid out and so organized in a market a day in my life! I was able to snag a chicken pack, ALL FLATS. They have an international section and I was blown away. I'm just speechless. The cashier was ok but not friendly, if you know what I mean. 3 stars, and hopefully it goes up to a 4 or 5! Noticed several improvements at this grocery store. The new layout makes shopping easier, and the store is much cleaner. However, I still dislike passing by the seafood and meat section because of the strong smell. The selection of international products is great (but the prices are expensive), and while the store is small, it offers a decent variety of fruits and vegetables. Please add more organic items. Customer service has also improved; the cashiers were previously rude, but I've also noticed a positive change recently. I hope this continues, as I wouldn't want to spend my money when they can't treat customers right. read more

I'm visiting from New York and decided to get a quick bite from Streets. This a great spot for healthy grab and go foods, especially on a Sunday in Baltimore. I decided that I would try the hot food counter. It looked fresh and I was hungry!! Ordering was seamless for me, however there was a well dressed and well spoken African American man ahead of me who had a completely different experience with disturbed me. Mind you, we were the only ones ordering.....The young men at the counter were Latino and they were not accommodating to this gentleman who had to repeatedly give his order to the young man at the counter. On the surface it appeared as a language barrier..... in contrast, that was not my experience. I was treated politely, with clear communication, not adversely like the African American man. I feel that in today's climate, these incidents need to be addressed. I applaud this gentleman, who was clearly exasperated, but maintained his composure. I questioned why this man was treated as if he were being difficult and I was treated with courtesy. Not cool!! Not cool at all!! To the management of Streets, you can do better..... May I suggest secret shoppers that are people of color.... I think that you would be surprised at what you will find in the report. Service should be consistent.... That's all. read more

Located in the government business district, this store threw me for a surprise as the layout & products are much more than at Cleveland Park. Other locations has restaurants & bars in addition to the grocery aspect. You can find everything local, organic, conventional, speciality with & a massive international inventory here. In addition to the diverse ready made meals, the Salad/Hot Entree/Poke/Bibimbap Bars are plentiful with creative selections. The Seafood Department has different types of seafood displayed on buckets of ice & without the fishy smells lingering...a good sign of fresh fish. There's also household items & cookware. You need a key to use the Unisex Restroom that the friendly Cashiers will provide upon request. Other employees across the departments are shyly helpful. I was impressed with the prices as some of my go to Vegan products are cheaper here. Take your items home or enjoy their covered patio...a mini Whole Foods in the making. read more

What a cool place in the city. The place looks small from a far but is quite expansive once inside. The fresh seafood display was really attractive. Prices were reasonable for fresh goods. Sadly, normal staples like condiments are sold at prices that can only be described as extortion rates. So sad that folks who live in the city are trapped by these practices. But all in all it was clean and staffed with very friendly people who made the visit a nice experience. read more

I like Streets Market. It's clean inside and surprisingly large if you find yourself having enough time to navigate through the nooks and crannies of the store. They have a pretty wide selection of standard items: bakery, fresh produce, meat, seafood, prepared foods, and grocery items. I wouldn't say their meat looks very fresh, either at this location Downtown or up in the new Charles Village location. Almost every time I've gone (which is sporadic), I've noticed the red meat looks brown/discolored because it doesn't seem to sell (pricey). I frequent the hot prepared foods area near the front of the store to grab a cup bap (I've seen 3 kinds regularly available: Bulgogi, Chicken Teriyaki/Scrambled Egg, and a spicy Korean-style Seafood stir fry). For $6.49 each, it's a decent size and filling. Their sandwiches are also pretty great $6.99, lots of variations and I think they made each sandwich fresh in the mornings. I saw an employee working hard to cook up bacon on the griddle and assemble all of them right when they opened. The sushi is also made fresh (I think daily, I've often seen men behind the sushi bar making rolls) and looks of good quality. The rotisserie chicken, not so much. I tried it once, and noticed lots of chicken feathers on the skin. The flesh was also pinkish so I had to return the item. I also got a prepared salad that day and noticed lots of black specks of dirt on the lettuce greens, which indicated to me that the staff do NOT rinse produce before cutting. I've never experienced this in store-bought salads from other stores. A little unnerving to consider the lack of thorough cleanliness for an item you expect to eat right away. Streets Market also has a nice selection of Asian grocery (!!) including dumplings, ramen, ice cream, kimchi, etc. A better selection than what I've seen at nearby Potung Oriental but obviously not on the level of Hmart. But some things you just can't find or they are overpriced. Unfortunately, I was on the hunt for sweet red bean (in a can) recently and couldn't find it. The checkout line also moves very quickly and the staff seem nice. I like that there's a nearby food court right across the way and seating outside to enjoy your eats! read more

Walked 10 minutes to this wonderful store. Definitely giving Bigger Bodega Vibes & they play great music! I was in awe at how much "store" was in this store in the middle of downtown! Like I'm truly thankful for one of my wonderful neighbors telling me about this market because I thought I lived in an absolute food dessert! They had everything!!! Strawberries for 1.99$! 7$ cuts of Salmon. Mochi. FRESH squeezed OJ. Like wow. I went crazy, I got so excited I spent 100$ next time I'll try to stick to my list! Lol read more

I love this grocery store. It has pretty much everything you need, it's an easy walk if you're downtown, and it is in a pleasant location. You have easy access to a liquor store, a French Patisserie, some other shops, and this market, all in one plaza. The only downside is the prices sometimes: can be steep. But as far as stock, they have pretty much most pantry items you need, and a beautiful produce section. The cheese selection is pretty good, and I can usually find shaved parmesan, charcuterie fixings, and even pate pretty easily. The lines move quickly, but honestly there is rarely a line. During 2020, this was also one place that always had the ever popular yeast in stock. My favorite thing to do is to walk here at lunch or after work and grab a bulgogi bowl for a quick meal. Now, is it "authentic"? Questionable. But it's a nice way to get a hot bowl of meat, veg, and rice. Ideally, you are walking to this grocery store due to its central location. Parking is paid street (Saratoga) or garage parking (Charles Plaza, Saint Paul garages). read more

This market was well stocked, and we were able to get breakfast and lunch items while visiting Baltimore and staying at an Airbnb. They even had fresh orange juice, which we like for breakfast, the price was double what we pay at Harris Teeter in Charlotte but still, it was great to get fresh orange juice. We also got beer and wine next door at the liquor store. read more

Loved this place! I got my dinner here twice while staying at the Inner Harbor. Yes, it isn't cheap (but not expensive either) but you get what you pay for sometimes. The area is good and it is a safe walk from the harbor. read more

I used to be one of the managers from Super Fresh & Fresh & Green's when they were here, I also still work in the neighborhood and visit them almost daily. I guess i have more knowledge of the customers in the area and think that Streets is what was needed in this location. I'd compare it to a Trader Joe's infused with H-Mart, and honestly that's the unique mixture that we couldn't capture before. Sure, this area has a lot of tourist and people who just work downtown for the weekdays... but it's focusing on the actual residents in the community. It might not be comparable prices to Safeway or even the previous stores... but that's not what this store is now and you got to remember and deal with that. This store has more varieties then you can imagine but you won't really find your everyday brands that your used to. I hope they do more sampling so they can educate their customers and turn them on to new stuff. Life's too short to always eat the same stuff all the time. I'm curious about a lot of the asian foods there that I've never had before. And so many people are happy with their extensive gluten free and vegan items. The previous stores suffered greatly when it came to theft and im glad they made many improvements and their staff is very friendly. I hope they expand the Bakery more and have birthday cakes and regular cookies, muffins and croissants. However they are open to your ideas and feedback. Finally, a supermarket in downtown! Streets moved into where Fresh & Green used to be. Just stopped by today. I think they opened fairly recently because it's still a little sparse inside (few empty shelves here and there) I think that this grocery chain is Korean-American-owned due to a few shelves of Korean/Asian grocery food interspersed throughout the store. This is by far the biggest plus of Streets for me - that I don't have to venture out to Route 40 to get some basic Asian ingredients (sticky rice, real ramyun, seasoned soysauce, rice wine vinegar, etc.) The only con is, since they've just opened, the prices are pretty steep right now (I'd say comparable to Whole Foods and sometimes more expensive). I'm really hoping that once they get established, they'll be able to lower prices a little bit. Until they do, I'm not sure I'll be back because I might as well go to Whole Foods then (or make that journey to Route 40 for the same ingredients at H-mart/Lotte). All in all, I'm really glad they filled the need for an accessible supermarket in the heart of downtown. If they can cater to all the students and young professionals living in the area by offering competitive prices, I think they'll do well for themselves. Hope that's the case, I'm looking forward to having groceries within walking distance :) read more

Streets' labyrinthine aisles hold many interesting grocery items. They have an extensive Asian section where you can find everything from Korean banana puffs and dried kelp to frozen Japanese dumplings and a wide array of soy sauces. Their produce section is also very good. They sell a lot of fruit already chopped up in plastic containers, which, while horribly unsustainable, makes for a convenient snack. They have a lot of tasty prepared meals, including sandwiches, sushi, wings, and full racks of ribs. There's also a full hot bar. Overall, it's a little pricey, but it is a downtown grocery store in a major city so it makes sense. I usually come to Streets to pick up a speciality items from the Asian section or produce (papayas!), but otherwise, I do most of my shopping elsewhere. read more

I was so bummed when I couldn't find a grocery store closer than Whole Foods (1.2 miles from my hotel), but when I was walking to Pop Physique I stumbled upon Streets Market & Cafe. Hooray for healthy grocery food! Streets has a salad bar and a hot food bar, but honestly the grocery selection is the way to go. Tons of protein bars, healthy snacks, kombucha, greek yogurt, etc. Prices are pretty average, decent healthy selection. read more

First off let me say I have never even knew this was a place!!! I am so late but glad I found it....this is a really nice market guys. They sell cut up bowls of fruit(pineapple,mixed berries, etc),cold pressed juices (I don't know if made in-store) ,all kinds of fresh vegetables and fruits to choose from..which is right up my alley! Every market doesn't sell oyster mushrooms...but guess what. These guys do lol. I love all kinds of healthy foods and this store does not disappoint. There is meat and seafood for sale inside and also a hot bar. It's clean and people I have encountered who work here are polite. I am gonna have to start coming here more often. read more

I love Streets!!! I've been coming here ever since they opened up. They have a huge selection of fresh produce and in-house prepped, ready to cook items for convenience sake. They also have an amazing frozen section and super fresh fish for a great price. I normally come for their produce which I haven't had a problem with so far like the other reviewers have. Their mangos are always INCREDIBLE. They carried these mangos from Haiti a few months ago that were literally perfection. I went back and bought out the rest of their stash. I just picked up organic mangos from Peru for .99 each which is amazing deal for how good they were. They also carry many unique pre made meals for a bargain. I picked up a salmon cake rice bowl for $5.99 and it was huge and tasty. I agree that most of their generic items are pretty over priced but it really depends on the day. I picked up a huge bottle of Dr. Bronner's Castile soap which was on sale for $5.99. Sweet. This market focuses on healthy products and recognizes the need for convenience. The sucky part of eating healthy is the huge chunk of time it takes to prep produce at home. Streets understands that and I appreciate that extra time I get at home! Oh and I love that they have a dedicated parking lot too. Thank you Streets!! By the way I do agree that their products can be stale sometimes, such as the bread, but reviewers need to understand that this market's supply and demand strategy emphasizes delivering a diverse selection to cater to the needs of different people. Quite disappointed in this new store. The quality of the produce is poor: vegetables are kept on ice and die as soon as you bring them home. I bought milk 2 times and both times it spoilt way before the listed expiration date. Hot bar food looks stale most of the time and yes, the prices are much higher than Whole Foods! I recommend this store for emergency shopping only. For everything else there's a Whole Foods in Harbor East and it's well worth the trip there. Check the products for expiration dates! read more

Good solid grocery store in the heart of Baltimore. The layout is a bit odd and sometimes feels like a maze but it's well worth exploring. In addition to all the standard staples anyone would expect in a grocery store there's a fair amount of international items in particular from Eastern Europe. They also have decent selections of Asian and Hispanic foods although those tend to be more common than stuff like Kashkaval (Bulgarian Sheep's Milk Cheese that is sold here). Their produce is usually fresh and their meat looks decent although a wider selection of organic items from each wouldn't hurt. They have plenty of prepared food that looks decent but nothing spectacular although I rarely buy that type of stuff. Prices are decent, not as cheap as Safeway but nowhere near Whole Foods. read more

I remember when this was 'Fresh & Greens' and 'Superfresh'. I was excited about both grocery stores when they opened (stores in the neighborhood - SCORE!!!! Right? Mmmmmm, not so much). Turns out, they both disappointed. I recall them not being the cleanest places. Produce wasn't very appealing. However, the biggest shock was the price point system they used. Pricing was crazy high. So high, in fact, that I resolved myself to the fact that I'd only stop in to get bottled water/ a drink during my walks from my neighborhood to the downtown area & back. Ah well... Fast forward to [current day] me having the serendipitous pleasure of finding out my FAVORITE pho spot 'Mekong Delta', didn't actually close but moved to the food court here in Charles Plaza (SCORE!!!). I reviewed this in a separate entry. I digress... While waiting for my food order, I deciding to give the 'standard overpriced market' in this plaza a quick tour. I noticed the name had changed so why not do a quick walk thru. Well, surprise surprise, upon first view/ visit, I must say I am quite impressed. Fresh produce (with ample sampling - SCORE!!!), fully stocked shelves, very friendly staff. They even bag ur groceries in Eco-friendly reusable bags. I would have given 5-stars but I was only in there for a few minutes to take a look & get some fruit. I don't wanna be TOO generous w/o actually taking in the full 'Streets Market & Cafe' experience. I was thinking this little shop was going to be the same size as Eddie's a few blocks away. This was extremely impressive for a store that's at the bottom of an apartment complex. As soon as I walked in, I was blown away at its selection. I kept walking and discovered it was a lot bigger than I originally thought. Not only do they have a large fresh produce section as well as a hot deli section but they have a lot of Asian ingredients and brands that's harder to find at your typical chain store. I saw miso soup mixes, good kimchi, and frozen dumplings that are all good quality. Halal meats, fresh seafood, sushi that actually looks appealing and a decent looking bakery. Whoever lives at the apartments here have no idea how good they got it. read more

I live nearby, so I LOVE this market for its convenience/location, and it has an excellent variety of foods and ingredients for lots of different cuisines! The 4 star rating reflects the value of having such a well-stocked store downtown. The downsides are that many items are much more expensive than other stores (I like to shop at Aldi for staple items), and we have had chicken and produce spoil quickly on us a couple times. I still purchase those items, but only if I plan to use them quickly. This is the perfect second grocery store for us - great for when we just need a few grocery items, or we want something specific they carry. The beet raviolis are excellent! read more
