OH MY GOSH! This shop is a hidden gem. The owner is so nice. He talked us through different types of cheese and let us try samples to find what we liked (which was everything we tasted). We ended up leaving with 6 different kinds of cheese and it is some of the best cheese I have had anywhere in the world. We've been here several times and never disappointed. This time we just needed enough to fill a small charcuterie board for dinner as we were headed out of town for a couple weeks and didn't want to deal with leftovers. Mike treated me as if I was ordering pounds of cheese, instead of some servings less than $2. His knowledge of cheeses is phenomenal and he starts with "what do you like" and, if that's not helpful, "what don't you like." Then he offers as many samples as you need to complete your order. After all that praise for Mike and his cheeses, I'm almost embarrassed to admit my "go to" item is their Iberico ham slices - like meaty butter. read more

The Cheese Wheel just opened in Greenville and is an awesome addition to the area! We stopped by to get some meats and cheeses for our pre-Thanksgiving feast appetizer. They have everything you need to make a great cheese board! They have a wide selection of meats, cheeses, and accoutrements. The staff is very friendly and super helpful when picking out what you want for your board. They let us taste the meats and cheeses before committing and offered suggestions for which cheese to get when we weren't sure. If you don't know how much you need, just let them know how many people you're serving and they'll take care of you. The father and son working at the cheese counter were knowledgeable about the cheese and clearly passionate about their business. The meats and cheeses were priced fairly and not far off from what you'd get at a specialty grocery store. We skipped on the accoutrements, I think you could find some of those cheaper at a different store. They also have a fridge with precut selections and a freezer with Italian pasta sauces. Decided in The Big 3 flight, and wound up taking some home. Excellent quantity and quality for the money. This place is fantastic! The staff (family-owned) was friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about their products. They made great suggestions, while recommending appropriate portions, based on our flavor preferences. It's a beautiful, clean shop on the inside with other assortments to go along with your charcuterie boards. This is the best cheese shop that I have ever been too! There was great service and the atmosphere was fabulous. There is a variety of cheeses and meats that went well beyond my expectation. The best part was the friendly service! The owners were very thoughtful as well. They greeted everyone with a smile and were very active in talking with a ton of guests. All workers were knowledgeable about their selection of cheeses and provided great insight for the specific event I needed a cheese board for. I give this place a 10/10 and can't wait to go back soon! I highly recommend it to any one who is in the Greenville area or within driving distance. It is worth going too! read more

Happy Greenville finally has a great cheese shop. The supermarket cheese offerings are ok, but not the selection and knowledge of the products that this store offers. Also, if you not exactly sure what you should be selecting for a party, just have Michael curate a selection for you - he will nail it every time. Or, they have a recommended cheese selection list right by the front cheese case - always good choices. The staff is great, terrific inventory of cheeses, and superior service.
