    THE TENDERIZER WITH TOTS
    Ravi Kiran T.

My office organizes Food Trucks for the employees during summer time and the Cheesie's was one of the options. It was a nice sunny day when they came over. I got the grilled chicken sandwich with tater tots. It was very delicious - I opted for less cheese which turned out to be a good decision as it turned out that my colleagues felt super heavy after eating the meal. The staff in the food truck was very attentive and courteous to all of the company folks.

I came across this cheesy sandwich truck while exploring Chicago. I was looking for a truck that had vegetarian options and this was a happy find. I had the Caprese sandwich with tater tots. With the name of the truck, I half expected the tots to have glorious cheese on them, but sadly they did not. They were still really good though!

One of the staple food trucks sitting out by Wacker drive. Ordered the Tenderizer and some tater tots. Tater Tots - Your typical run of the mill tater tots. Nuff said. Score of 3/5 The Tenderizer - One of the choices at the food truck that comes with some protein which in this case is fried chicken tenders and bacon. The sauce wasn't overwhelming and complimented the chicken well. The bread had a nice toasty texture and wasn't mushy from the sauce which was great. Score of 4/5 Overall worth it for the sandwiches but the sides weren't anything standout.

Cheese. In. My. Mouth. More. Cheese. Please. Grilled cheese on Texas Toast, grilled cheese on sourdough, spicy grilled cheese, Mac and cheese grilled cheese, and classic grilled cheese. So many options to choose from and I promise you won't be disappointed. These sandwiches are massive. One half is enough to fill you up. Talk about food coma after lunch? Well, here's the best food truck about it. My only complaint is, during a lunch rush, it took slightly longer than most food trucks to get the order than normal. The jalapeno popper grilled cheese isn't as spicy as it could be, but for most that's probably A-okay. Other than that, it was delicious. I was very pleased. Take a look at this picture down there, talk about cheese heaven. Mmmmmgood!

Delicious sandwiches, made to order! Haven't had one I didn't like! Highly recommend!

Best Grilled cheese Ever-in-my-life!!!!! To my surprise they were parked across the street from my job today. I had the classic which was cheddar cheese, American cheese, tomatoes, ham and bacon on Texas toast. Served with tomato soup dipping sauce. OMGGGG so deliciously cheesie. This just made my week!

I see the appeal of this truck. Savory, buttery, cheesy deliciousness. Overall, great experience, but not sure I would return given the price. It was $9 for the Caprese. The flavor was excellent. However, it was really, really greasy. And I get it, that's probably what people want, but it was excessively, uncomfortable greasy. To the point where you hate yourself afterwards and you're not really sure it was worth it. The tomatoes slices were huge, and slipped right out of the sandwich after the first bite. The sandwich was mostly bread and very little ingredients. The basil was cut nice and small so it was distributed evenly through the sandwich. It's good, it's an experience, the people are nice, but it's really pricey given the lack of content to the sandwiches and the grease factor.

My first reaction was an $8 grilled cheese sandwich??? (It did come with a bag of chips though.) After taking my first bite of the original mac & Merkt's cheddar cheese on Texas toast, I was convinced it was well worth it! Came with a little side of tomato soup for dipping. Creamy, yummy and delicious. Can't wait to try the other variations.

It wasn't nearly as busy as I'd thought for right before the concert, but still had plenty of people. Bartender was super attentive and friendly, constantly checking in, chatting with us, and getting us what we needed. I should mention that the seating situation was odd-- we had a party of 2 and the options we were offered were stand at the bar or go upstairs (outside, and it was nearly 100°). We took the standing at the bar option. There were several tables in that area not occupied the entire time we ate there, and to add to the oddness, a party of six came in as we were on our way out the door and they were offered indoor seating with a 20 minute wait. Weird! But food was worth it and would go again if I'm in the wrigleyville area!

For Restaurant Week 2026, you were met with a drink (beer, N/A, or bourbon), one starter 'snack', entree and dessert for $48. In comparison to other participating restaurants this was a steal. I visited without a reservation on Wednesday evening, and there was ample seating. My friends and I enjoyed a sample of foods from the #CRW menu. For the 'snacks' we got the brisket devil eggs, the brisket loaded fries, as well as the chicken wings. All were very tasty however, the loaded fries were the star. Now here is where things got good. For our entree we had the 'Little City Eats' which was brisket, 1/2 rack ribs, chicken legs AND TWO sides (which I got the mac n cheese and the baked beans.) All the food was tasty and for the tasting menu, I was impressed with how much food we were provided. To go containers are needed. For dessert we got the banana pudding, we were scraping the bottom of the jar. Sweet but not overbearing and layered with wafers, and whip cream! Overall the food, was tasty, and the service was attentive and knowledgeable.

They offer happy hour M-F from 3-5pm and have $6 margaritas, $6 draft beers, & $6 mini tacos. Our group started out with a round of frozen and on-the-rocks classic margaritas. The taste was a bit tart for me but everyone else enjoyed it! For my second drink, I got the Mezcal Margarita which was perfectly balanced as smokey and refreshing. For food, we started with the Chile Con Queso & Elotes. Both were absolutely delicious and easy to share. For mains, most got the BYO Taco Platter where you get to mix and match 3 tacos from the menu. Our server, Gisele, said her favorite taco was the Baja Fish but the Crispy Cauliflower was underrated. For entrees, she recommended the Crispy Chicken Torta or The Molcajete. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals! Everything tasted fresh, made to order, and great flavor! I would certainly come back to enjoy more!

No one came to bring them, we couldn't find our waiter, and now we are past our 2 hour limit but we've put our order in twice before the time was up! It was odd, and we couldn't find our waiter so we had to ask someone else. It wasn't a super busy time of day so not sure what happened but not a big deal. I'd still come back for sure! The breakfast tacos looked very yummy.

I opted for the roast beef sandwich, and it could have definitely lasted for two moderately sized meals. It took a bit longer than expected to come out, but it was perfectly toasted and truly made to order. The unsung hero of the sandwich was the rosemary ciabatta bread, which added that subtle extra flavor that would remind you this is a speciality spot. The avocado and grilled onions with melty cheese made for a well rounded rich flavor. I do think the beef could have been a tiny bit fresher and think a more flavorful aioli would have upped the sandwich, but overall it was still tasty and satisfying. I would definitely return to try more of the sandwiches and recommend paying a visit! I
