My husband immediate noticed the burgers were FROZEN PATTIES AND WERE ALREADY PRE-COOKED..When we order they removed the patty from a warmer and placed it on a grill. The burger was a perfect rectangle thin shape.which tell me it wasn't fresh beef. You cant possibly char-grill, and make a fresh burger in 2 minutes and 11 seconds. The fries were the best thing I ordered out of the entire meal. They were fresh and steak cut. The mozzarella sticks were bland and frozen! My malt contained too much syrup and was nothing to write home about. Food was delicious. Needed to grab dinner after my wine tasting in Old Town. Location was perfect as it was right off of North and Ashland. Pretty easy to get to location parking somewhat difficult. I was able to get in an order right away, my food was ready within one minute. I think they just have the burgers going and the fries getting fried quickly. I got the double cheeseburger special and it was very delicious. I had it when I got home with a glass of wine. Perfect to have a delicious double cheeseburger with the best Cabernet (Caymus $85 a bottle) on the market. I was really a happy and full with my selection. Finally! I have found a quality burger for a reasonable price in Chicago. As other have said, Choppers isn't the place to go to if you're looking for the best burger that you can find in Chicago. However, it is a great option if you're looking for a good burger without paying the "best burger in Chicago" prices that every other restaurant seems to follow. The good food coupled with the appropriate pricing is what awards Choppers a five stars for me. In addition, you can get ridiculously sized portions for less than $10 - up to a quad burger - and it's actually tasty. You're not left sitting with the thought "dang, I guess I got what I paid for." Rather, you're left sitting with the thought "this was a good value, what's the catch?" Add on some cheesy fries and a milkshake and you have a full meal at about half the price that you're used to paying in the area. Since it was the first time we've came the workers were nice and patient. The food I have to say was really good! My partner and I ordered 2 choppaks. I have been looking for a good burger in Wicker Park that doesn't cost 20+ dollars. Even some of the 15 dollars ones are just garbage. I have probably tried about 20 different places already in the area. I took a different route into work today because of traffic and i saw this place. Looked interesting and unique. Went here for lunch at 12:30 today, easy parking in small lot, the worker there going back in the door held it open for me, nice touch. Guy at the counter was polite, place was clean all around, I ordered the "choppak" with everything and regular strawberry milkshake. Get this! I was only 13 bucks after tax! Woot Woot! Got it to go and on the way out the door I decided I would eat in my car (just couldn't wait to get back to the office). Opened it up and the burger looked amazing. Two good sized patties, yummy grilled onions, tomatoes and everything else that make a good burger, the buns are even a notch up from cheap hamburger buns.
