They answered all my questions and were very patient. They were able to adjust and customize to suit my needs and were easy to work with. I chose a meat, a seafood, and a vegetarian for my entrees but I'd never worked with them so I was unsure of their quality. I asked if I could do a tasting and they were more than happy to accommodate. They allowed me to pick a couple entrees and some sides to try out and I picked it up and brought it home to test. After all that, they kept in close communication to discuss my needs for things like rentals of chafing dishes, tables, etc. On the day of the event, they arrived 90 mins prior and set everything up. Since it was a "drop off" catering, they had everything sealed with plastic wrap, lit all the sternos, then left it for us to unwrap when ready. We chose the chicken teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, and the eggplant green curry (vegetarian and G/F). I was worried about the salmon since it tends to overcook, but i was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Not overcooked at all and super tasty! We also ordered sushi and other sides. His black and white cookies and perfectly soft and chewy, and the pistachio creme brullee has a creamy texture almost like a fluffy pudding that packs real Persian pistachio flavor. He thinks everything tastes dry or he doesn't like specific ingredients, for example. I tried GOOD CHEFS a couple weeks ago and I'm hooked! The food is cooked the same day it is delivered and it is delicious! Seriously, if you order meals offered on different days of the same week then they come every day with your fresh delivery! It is packaged in a little foil lined bag with frozen water bottles. The price point is toward the splurge side for me but when you think about all the ingredients and variety you're getting for your health and how much it would cost for you to purchase those ingredients and then spend the hours making meals that -- at least in my case -- would never approach the quality of good chefs... Then I feel it is worth the investment. And, time is in short supply for me like most parents. Some of the meals were able to be stretched into more than two portions, like the beetroot lasagna. We've also had the tri-tip dinner and chickpea Florentine flatbread pizza - mwah delish! I especially love this service right now with two teenage boys who are hungry 24 hours a day and craving nutrients. The minute I finish feeding them and cleaning up they are back trolling for food like it never happened! Honestly, compared to my grocery budget this service will probably not cost me more than I was already spending but will now have ready made healthy food of great variety, and no waste. And way beyond my ability to put a meal together. Like, I simply am never going to learn how to make chimichurri. Which I just ordered for this week! And who thinks to combine watermelon, basil and feta? Yes, please. The offerings change every week based on seasonal fruits and vegetables, including vegetarian and meat options. They use organic where possible and all the ingredients are disclosed in advance. Support good chefs and our community members, who are actually the talented chefs on site, and purchase their supplies locally! Buy local!
