This rating is not based on an event, but rather their service during a tasting prior to booking. Also, I'm only leaving this because their actions (rather inactions) were avoidable and blatantly negligent. So much so, we avoided booking My fiancé and I reached out as they had fairly good reviews for event planning. We were looking for a decorator and food. They responded well and invited us to a tasting of their food. Their food was pretty darn good. At least until we got to the chafing dish that had a long hair in the sauce draped over the dish and down across the table. It was a long hair. We're understanding, hair gets in things, sometimes. However, when we pointed it out to the staff, who was all clustered and talking to one another, the staff member made no effort to remove it, or replace it, just apologetically chuckle, and walk back to her circle to resume talking. We were there for a few minutes longer taking a look at things and at no point did we ever see that dish get changed out. Or the hair removed. read more

The food was fantastic (the level of choice and ability to try everything beforehand is super). The decor choices and the way everything looked was beyond our expectations. They provided the cake which was absolutely delicious. Jesse listened to everything that we had to say, the staff at the event were very attentive. Absolutely no complaints. WOOOW! Thank you soo much to the entire Cornejo's team! My husband and I were blown away by everything! They were able to transform a community center into such a beautiful wedding venue. We hired them for catering, cake, all wedding flowers, bartending services, chair rental, ceremony and reception decoration for 160 people. We also booked an ice cream bar and churro bar with them. (highly recommend) our guest could not stop talking about how amazing everything was. They offer food tasting every Sunday which was what sold us immediately, once we tried the food we knew we had to book them! We had our bartender cancel on us less than 45 days before our wedding and booked Cornejo's instead. It was the best decision we made! They really are a full service company and can help bring your vision to life. The staff were very professional and very nice! We were at a loss for words when we saw everything come together. I just got married last night and I hadn't had an issue with lulu until the day of the event. Lulu is the owner and is very very very unprofessional. I paid for 3 waiters and the day of, she told me I had not paid for them which I did, I even added a 4th one last minute and she just took my money. The waiters were sitting down doing NOTHING but pick up the plates at the end. She didn't set up the correct amount of chairs in each table which was very embarrassing because my guests were coming up to me letting me know they didn't have a chair/plate. I could say she ruined my night because when I told her, she was being soooooooo rude to my family members trying to take charge since I was the bride and I was very stressed. I would rather pay double the price than book this company. Don't recommend. read more

This was for a wedding in the summer - Looks good when being presented and when being greeted the first time , but all changes the day of. Let's just say they ran out of water ! Really ? For 100 people on a hot day and didn't bring extra water ? Wow!!!! Some of the groomsmen had to go buy drinks for our guest. let the list continues of the items and services paid for but never seen , no umbrellas were put out, centerpieces were very small, no red carpet rolled out so I had to walk on soft soil and grass that got my dress dirty, food wasn't covered or put on ice trays as requested mind you it's an outdoor wedding , the cheese fountain wasn't even on ! What was the point for paying extra to get it? no communication at all ! And don't think about asking for any money back for any of that because they won't call u back or they will point out that prior to 48 hours to event all sales are basically final. They pocketed the money instead. So save yourself time money and embarrassment and find another place that will follow through. read more

They do not execute what they promise. The manager Lulu (Lourdes) is beyond unprofessional and does not care about their customers and will argue with you. They make you believe they will go above and beyond but will NOT DELIVER. My sister in law paid for waiters for a seated dinner at her wedding only to be told the day of that the waiters will not be serving the food because they're too tired. Lulu's character and attitude is beyond disgusting. If I could give less than 1/5 stars, I would. Lulu and this company are not worth anything. read more

Lulu and her team went out of their way to ensure that my wife's birthday party was a complete success. The team arrived early to set up prior to the party. Everything (tables & chairs, bar, decorations, appetizers etc) was ready to go by the time the party started. They then passed around appetizers and also set up a stationary appetizer table. Simultaneously they had a bartender who did a fantastic job keeping up with guests' requests. By the time it was time to have dinner, they again had everything ready to go and had someone watch over the buffet to ensure that chafing dishes were well stocked. I put down a deposit and everything. A Day before the wedding, my fiancé called and they said the candelabras were ready for pick up. When I get there, they're were only 17 and they were broken, different colors, and horrible looking. When we asked what happened, Lulu yelled at me and my sister like it was my fault. I made a huge mistake to have them do all for me.. the church decor was ok.. no complaints. the hall decor was not what I asked for.. the table centerpieces were fresh bouquet of roses.. I wanted different flowers and a totally different look. I was really disappointed.. I even showed them a picture of how I wanted my centerpieces.. in regards to the catering.. they pour salt on the water fountain instead of sugar.. the alfredo pasta was awful.. it tasted like burned bread. and the fruit was not fresh at all.. I used Cornejo's Event Planner for my wedding for 350 guests. The day of the party they were on site from 3:00pm until 12:00 am yes midnight.. Their location is easy to get to and parking is available if you go at the right time, there is a kickboxing/yoga studio class next door, Their suite in the building is pretty small, but the office is decent size. They coordinated the food including the cake and fruit/dessert table, china (tableware), Linens, waiters, bartender,decorations including centerpieces, and reserved my hall and security. The price was right on amazing! They worked with me since i didn't need the church decorated and slashed some $ off the price. The hall was included in the package as well, which i believe they get a discount or on a contract with them since they use different ones all the time because for the size of my hall it should of been way more money. PLUS THEY LET YOU DO PAYMENTS! I went in a year ahead with no complications and gave my last payment a week before the wedding. The food : They have tastings during the weekends, and if you request to try something they do not have out when you go they can schedule you a PRIVATE tasting with what you'd like your menu to look like. Our food was sooo delicious and the waiters advised me if we wanted to take leftovers home at the end of the day , which my party guests where happy to do so. The cake , we actually didn't cut... my husband and I were too busy dancing the night away to worry about that; we took a picture with it and asked the waiters to cut it for us as we had our night to our selves. You get to choose toppings, fillings, cake type, and design. The cake that is included in the package wil be made to feed as the number of guests you have planned to have at your reception. The fruit table was right on point. Fresh ripe juicy ...mouth watering...lol the chocolate fountain was a HIT! it looked like it'd been licked clean. I upgraded from plastic ware to china which only the glasses where actual glass the plates are actually hard plastic..well at least the ones we got. ___I did ask lulu what if something broke or..worse...some come out missing at the end of the party?? she said not to worry that everything is covered. Linens: they make an apt with you to come and see the table and centerpiece so you can see how they will look well before you have your party, YOU need to make an apt so everything is in order THEY WILL NOT make one for you. ITS YOUR PARTY NOT THEIRS. Be as specific as you can, they encourage it!! ONE thing they messed up on was the way the napkins were supposed to be folded but i was OK with it. When I spoke to Lulu after my party to reserve her for another one and pointed that out she advised me that i SHOULD HAVE told her , they would of gone to repair that mistake easily. THEY DECORATE A DAY BEFORE which is awesome because you can see your hall and make sure you got what you asked for. I made my own menu's and table numbers; asked them to put them on the plates when they where decorating. They also let you bring your own drinks/beer/wine/liquor a day before. I reserved the Scottish Rite Center and they let me store everything in their walk in fridge. The lady Angela i believe who is the secretary at the Scottish Rite Center was extraordinary with us, she allowed us to use some props for free and even got us a jumpy house for the kiddos , which was a lifesaver no kids where running around or bothering their parents. The waiters : where super nice , they made sure to "guard" the buffet line until we got there and served ourselves first , with the dinner and dessert. The bartender: was nice, and respectful. When we asked him to lie and say we didn't have anymore alcohol although we clearly did, he did what was asked in a professional tone to our guests. The security: was never just sitting around. they where posted in the front entrance and by the main entry doors to our hall. they also roamed through the parking lots with flashlights and made sure it was safe outside and the cars were safe as well. **At first when i went in to check on this, the lady that was attending us was rude and unprofessional, THEN we spoke to the owner LULU. I cannot stress enough of what a difference she made on the whole experience. ASK for her, she is nice and straight out. Remember this is YOUR celebration; if you don't bother to make sure before the scheduled date to make such important apt's with LULU (table decoration/centerpiece demonstration , food ) to make sure everything is going accordingly, there could be complications like any other place. I am extremely satisfied with her and her team. So satisfied, we are looking to use their services again soon :) read more

Our wedding was mid- August of this year and it was amazing thanks to Cornejo's Event Planning. Griselda was our coordinator and she went above and beyond what we could have asked for. She was in constant communication with me and made sure that I was happy with all the choices my husband and I made. She is an amazing person and great at her job. She listens to what you want and your vision and adds her profession opinion as needed. She was very attentive, organized, and diligent during our wedding. She contacted our vendors to make sure everything went smooth. She created a timeline and made sure everyone stuck to it and was on it. We highly recommend her, she knows her stuff. The decorations were great and really made our wedding elegant. The food was good, and many people gave us compliments about it. We had over 250 people at our wedding and were scared the food would run out since it was buffet. To our surprise, there was food left over. We loved the food so much, because it had a great variety-we had some Mexican dishes to please our family members, as well as some new dishes that impressed our friends. The appetizers we heard were good and all finished. The cake was HUGE, beautiful, over the top and many people also asked about where we had gotten it from. The bartenders were great, keeping all the drinks coming, and engaging with our guests. My bridal bouquet was fabulous and I loved everything about it. My bridesmaids bouquets and groomsmen boutonnieres were nice. My husband and I are very pleased with Griselda and the Cornejo's team and would highly recommend them. I used Cornejo's for my son communion/confirmation last year in May. The food and service was great. So I decided to use them this year on Cinco de Mayo for my god daughter's baptism. The food was great as I expected. The contract was for food service from 3pm - 5pm but since no one had arrived yet they served until 6:30pm and then they started the clean up. Used them for my wedding and would not go back. All the samples looked great when they showed us and so we moved forward with them. On the day of the wedding, our centerpieces were smaller than expected, and the green sponge used to organize the flowers were clearly visible. They served chips and salsa using paper plates and bowls ( we did not want that). The food was cold and the servers didn't know what do to at the reception. The prices kept changing and items ordered for the wedding kept getting compromised last minute. Manage your expectations when hiring them and have your own wedding coordinator work with them because working with them and keeping them on track can be very stressful. read more

I met with Gricelda and went over the food, flowers, cake and decorations and she gave us a very reasonable quote which also included appetizers and a chocolate fountain. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE... the worst, I could say, the ladies on the phone act extremely rude, they need some training on how to handle customers. For my wedding I chose some decoration I saw on one of the pictures they have, the final thing wasn't even close to what I had seen nor what I had paid for, of course I couldn't do anything because there was a wedding going on, I also paid them so they could bring the aisle runner for the church and they forgot it!!!!!!!! We where right there, just minutes before the ceremony begun and no carpet!!!! Lucky for us the church has it's own runner for moments like this, for only $80, which I had to pay at the moment, after the wedding I went to their office explaining what happened and the lady on the desk gave me an attitude, like if it was my fault, anyway, it's been more than a month and I'm still waiting for a change with the refund only for the carpet. Seen some pictures of the storage of food at the kitchen of this company and it is simply horrifying. Meat stored in a non-refrigerated truck for 3 days, food made in buckets and just about every unsanitary thing your mind could imagine is happening there. The health department was called due to a complaint and they were fined and given a laundry list of what to do to comply with their standards. Someone is going to die from this very gross and disgusting caterer. Before you use them one should check out the health departments findings on them. I found this place after doing a lot of research on-line. I needed a caterer for my wedding; one that wasn't going to cost me and my fiance an arm and a leg and possibly and eye. They have food tasting every Saturday and Sunday, which is a PLUS. They have different packages (I like having options). They have American, Mexican, and Italian dishes. We decided to go with the buffet for 200 guests. They give you the choice of three meats, two sides, salad, and it also includes a mini fruit buffet...all for a very reasonable price compared to many companies out there. They also provide napkins, plates and eating utensils. The food itself was delicious. The meats were juicy and not dry, and not salty. They had plenty of food for all our guests, plus a little more (just in case people decided to get seconds). They have people serving the food (they were very friendly). I have to give a HUGE PLUS to the manager that was there until the very end of our wedding reception, which ended at midnight. He stayed because he had to collect all of the table cloths, but what he did not have to do is clean or help clean the hall, but he did so anyway. He helped clear the tables and helped stacked the chairs AND he was taking the garbage outside. A BIG THANKS to him (too bad I can't remember his name). What can I possibly say about Cornejo's? Everything! Everything good of course... I came to Cornejo's as a last resort and had some doubts. But I couldn't have been more wrong. Talk about a perfect wedding (my guests still make mention of it and people who see the pictures do too). Orlando is the man! He made absolute certain that every detail was covered. And it was. The set up was more beautiful than Orlando expressed. My grandmother's backyard was quite literally transformed. The party planners set up for 80 people and it looked very elegant. I wish I could remember the names of the waiter and waitress provided because they pulled it off quite well and transitioned everything smoothly from serving dinner to cutting the cake. I got the whole package and it included everything from the centerpieces to the cake and every detail in between. Cornejo's did an excellent job and I'm so glad I chose them for our special day. There was minimal work done by myself or my family as Cornejo's provided everything except the dress and guests. I highly recommend them for any occasion.
