This was a theme throughout our planning process, she was extremely helpful and responsive with all of my questions and needs! Once Alicia knew about our event needs, she found us the perfect venue (Concord 55, which I also highly recommend!). She helped connect me to the venue and provided options for the on-site set-up. Perhaps the best part of American Bocce Co is that, as the event organizer, I had almost no day-of responsibilities. I actually got to enjoy myself and participate while ABC took care of everything. Alicia and crew were professional and had everything set up in a timely manner. We had three courts for our group of 75 and it ended up working out great. Ahead of time, I had sent Alicia our team assignments and she created lanyards for everyone to wear with their team names. So helpful! In addition to setting up the courts, ABC kept the tournament running and had a referee at all courts. They were all very patient with the group, explaining rules and making sure the games ran smoothly. Overall, I highly recommend using American Bocce Co for your company outing! The overall consensus was that everyone had an excellent time. The fast moving games and lively atmosphere made for a really fun evening.

More support for the local arts!…read more For some odd reason, I thought Links Hall was closer to The Vic. Boy, was I way off. Does that matter?!? Not an itsy-bitsy bit! This studio is on the second floor of a narrow building, a few steps off of Clark, on Sheffield. If you sneeze, you can miss the joint. Does that matter?!? Heck, no! We ended up seeing a local dancer and her friend. Are they choreographers? No. Are they talented? Yes. Are there some parts of the show that can use improvement? Yes. Was the music great? Yes. Was I entertained? Yes. Would I support another "arts" performance here? Yes. What a great place to see events that may not have the opportunity to make it to a main stage, but still possess a lot of talent!

I would also imagine, that due to the size, it's more for local performances than larger scale ones. There's not much in the realm of food/beverage, though there was a water cooler (THAT WAS EMPTY BY THE TIME I GOT TO IT, BOO) to cool you off. Only downside of Link's Hall is that it gets WARM up in there. Pretty much the entire audience had taken off all the clothes they could by the time the performance was over.

I attended the first Camp Boundless full day "adult day camp" and it was a blast! What a great…read moreopportunity to put the phones up, have some fun and make new friends. Organizers did a great job putting together options for every interest: arts & crafts, improv, meditation, acting, storytelling, cosplay and more. The venue, Catalyst Ranch, is amazing. Such a fun, whimsical space. And even the snacks throughout the day were well planned. Everything from healthy snacks to camp food (i.e. smores, PB&J finger sandwiches). I can't wait to attend the next one!

Camp Boundless gets me out from under my workload, away from my screen, and in front of something…read morenew. Every event of theirs I've been to has been a rewarding experience; I felt like I could relax, play for a while, hang out with some cool people, and enjoy myself. The games and activities were valuable, and not in a sterile, "team-building exercise" kind of way; cool hobbies, games, meditation exercises, crafts, all brought to me by people who simply like to DO those things, for enjoyment. It's a pretty rare treat. I'm a big fan.

There's an entire medical play space for those seeking a cure. And the rules are pretty simple. No biosports. With the exception of blood. Check the website for events. People were friendly, and introduced me to other friendly people, who in turn got me up to speed on well...pretty much everything. It was a really good night, I have to say. The LRA are good people. This place would easily be a 5 star place based on art and party vibe as it had a few DJs in here during open house, but people are so cliquish here it's like why even bother going unless you're an artist in a clique here. Nice to experience hoity toity art vibes crowd. So I'll be the one who bombs this place and say the hipsters can go back their old people smelling thrift shops and broke lives after the art parties here.

They have a free parking lot plus ample street parking and a security guard who was very pleasant and directed everyone to the elevator to get to the event space upstairs. They were able to cater plus have a DJ (and great acoustics) drinks, and guests of all ages. It was the perfect venue for our family and friends, centrally located in the near westside area. I highly recommend it. They apparently have jazz concerts and yoga classes here too! I'd love to come back here for other events. See my fun pictures from the party!

My grandpa joined Park Falls Masonic Lodge in 1952 and became a 33rd degree mason. Since then, my…read moregrandparents, mom, sister, and I have all been members of Masonic appendant organizations for adults and youth, so these groups hold a special place in my heart. This is a grand building in Jefferson Park! It was established in 1912. It would have been so interesting to see it in its heyday, but there are still several Masonic organizations that meet here. There's a two-story staircase outside but I don't think that is in use any longer, generally speaking. Whilst the Masonic bodies use this space for their meetings and events, I believe it is also available for rent by outside groups (as is common with Masonic temples). I've come here a few times for meetings of Betsey Ross Chapter and considered taking a dual membership, but at the time it was hard for me to commit especially since I had a commute that made meeting nights difficult. But it was nice to visit, and I enjoyed pro-temming once or twice. Parking is at a premium depending upon when or why you're here. There are a few spots at the building but to be honest I'm not sure that the parking lot belongs to the Temple, because when the temple was built it was next door to homes on both sides, so I think it's possible that the parking in fact belongs to the Secretary of State's office. Luckily, events that take place at the Masonic Temple don't tend to overlap too much with the SoS hours. There is some street parking nearby, and I'm not sure what the relationship is with the bank across the street but I think that parking is only for the bank/Gale Street Inn. But Jeff Park (the actual park) is about a block away so there's parking along the street there too. After the pandemic, where people were so isolated and whatnot, I think there remains a place for organizations like the Masons, Eastern Star, Job's Daughters, Elks, etc. It would be nice to see these organizations grow, and change, and experience a resurgence.

Last night, were lucky enough to visit Taven Club at 333. The beauty greets you before walking in. Gorgeous doors, lobby and elevators call out history, beauty and elegance. The history of the private club and now the woman who owns it is so fascinating. Years ago, the private club hosted many famous Chicago elite, such as, Frank Lloyd Wright, Carl Sandburg, William Wrigley and Mayor Richard Daly. Today, on a different floor, Erin Houlehen, with a background steeped in history, owns and operates the private club and event space. Sitting on the corner of the 4th floor, the views down Michigan Avenue, Wacker Drive and the Chicago River are impressive. Warm colors, various seating options and different rooms offer many comfortable options. The artwork presented around the space is mostly from Ms. Houlehen's private collection. They offer food and beverage options for members and events. On this occasion, we enjoyed charcuterie and cocktails expertly prepared by the professional bartender. Both the owner and bartender offered gracious and professional service. I highly recommend this space for a private event.
