It's a nice SoHo house location if you're a member you have a choice of 3 places to eat. The one on the first floor is open to the public. The 5th floor is the regular SoHo house pub vibe. Similar menu to other SoHo houses. I found our waiter to be pretty disinterested and rude. I had a jerk chicken dish that was kinda bland, just ok. They had a ping pong table and pool table, which were fun. Their photobooth was broken. All the soho house photo booths seem to be broken these days. Which is kinda lame since we pay a mortgage to go here. The real winner for me was the 6th floor (rooftop) Italian menu restaurant. We went here our second day in Chicago and despite having the same lame waiter (lol, our luck). The food was amazing. I had a hot honey pizza, my GF had a rigatoni. With were fire! Invited to play Musical Bingo by a member. Dancing Phil made musical bingo so fun and would recommend attending when he's back in the States. It was a packed place so would come early to grab a table. My kale salad with chicken was amazing. I don't know what type of kale they used, but it was easy to eat. I come here quite often. They have many different activities they offer from sunrise yoga to movie marathons. My friend rented out their movie theater when her show got picked up by HGTV. Whether you are pregaming, having brunch, dinner, or a nightcap, there is a day and time for everyone. They switch the music on different days but the food is always delicious. I recently tried their new fire grilled pizza restaurant that opened and it was great. You also can't come here without getting their delicious salted chocolate chip COOKIES! They are a hit! I recently stayed here with a friend. It was my first time at a Soho House and my friend, who's a member, said I was going to love it. And I did. Because I travel a lot, I spend a good chunk of my life in hotels and staying here was one of the most pleasurable experiences I've had on the road. First, they literally think of everything to accomodate your needs. Extra pillows, drinks in the minibar, privacy... they even have complimentary bartender visits during cocktail hours. It's super luxurious and the attention to detail is next to none. During my stay, I had the opportunity to have meals at the italian restaurant on the roof, the bar in the lobby, the bar on the 5th floor, and via room service. Every meal I had was exquisite, but the highlight for me was the chicken and waffles I had for brunch in my room. Fluffy, sweet, crunchy, savory -- it was precisely what chicken and waffles should be. The decor is hand selected and curated to have a vintage feel. In a lot of ways, it made me feel like I was onboard the Titanic or something, but in a good way. I especially loved the layout of the bathrooms as well as the furnishings throughout the hotel. On Saturday, my friend was DJing on the 5th floor so I got to check that out as well. Apparently music is something you can expect at most Soho House locations. Fair warning though: you could hear the music through parts of the building, so if you're looking for total quiet, this hotel might not be for you. That said, the modern upscale party vibe by way of Jay Gatsby that this hotel had gripped me in such a way. I can't wait to come back. P.S. Some of the amenities here are really cool even if I didn't get a chance to use them. I came here for the first time to have dinner with a group at the club's main restaurant (my friend is a member). The ambiance is great and I really appreciated how the tables are spaced so far apart so we didn't have anyone crowding us at all the whole night. We started with cocktails and I enjoyed the picante margarita which was fantastic: great kick to it! We shared a bunch of appetizers to start with, including the cauliflower (amazing!), spinach artichoke dip (very good), and kale salad (meh). I had the penne vodka for my entree, which I really enjoyed: the chili sauce gave it a great little kick. It would have been even better if there was an option to add sausage to it. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate chip cookies (freaking fantastic!) and a gluten free chocolate dessert of some kind (which I did not care for at all). Wine was flowing all night and it was all very good. Service was good, although on the slow side at times. The music and ambiance abruptly changed to a very clubby vibe somewhere around 10/10:30, which was a bit jarring but really should not have surprised me considering the neighborhood. After dinner we headed to the (very, VERY crowded) bar for one more drink. Despite the crowd, I was pleasantly surprised by the quick and awesome service. Overall, it was a super fun night. We came here last night to celebrate a friend's birthday at their Cecconis Taverna on the top floor. This is a nice cozy space for dinner. The menu had a host of comfort foods. Pre dinner cocktails were in order. I got the snow drop, which was pure delight and highly recommended by our server. The cocktail started dry but as the I progressed consuming it, the cocktail became sweeter. Our waiter said one of the alcohols (the dry one) floats on top of the others (the sweet ones). The floral garnish and large ice cube are nice touches. We started with three appetizers to share -- burrata, meatballs and calamari. All were excellent. The meatballs were my favorite. We shared two pastas and two pizzas. We got the rigatoni bolognese (my favorite) and the cacio e pepe bucatini (too rich and salty). Both pizzas we ordered were excellent--we got the mushroom prosciutto pizza and the pepperoni vodka sauce pizza (had a kick!). Overall a great meal! read more

We've been going to the SoHo House (Allis-first floor) in West Loop for over 2 years. The past 6+ months it's gone significantly down hill. The service, particularly the bartenders, is horrible! The food is mediocre at best so without good service and staff that are friendly and at least can fake they like working there, it's not worth the time or money. West Loop is packed with so many nice places with great service, don't waste your time or hard earned money at SoHo House. read more

Lets start with how filthy this place is. I just came home from working a wedding there and feel like i need a tetanus shot. The management couldn't have been nicer but everywhere we looked needed a good scrubbing. we walked the rooftop and the cabanas are all stained and look like a great place to get bedbugs because they clearly haven't been cleaned... When we left the valet tried to steal $50 by charging us twice although our ticket was paid already for parking my car and after we had a manager come down to reprimand him he picked a fight with me, refused to hand over my keys, took pictures of my license plates and threatened my colleague whom he addressed as " My whore wife" after calling me a "Homo" (???????)and stood in front of my car blocking me from leaving. For the amount that folks have to pay for a membership, as well as the hoops you have to go through to obtain one, you would think that your experience would/should be top notch. Not the case. I came here twice (to the pool) from out of town over the weekend. The service is legit terrible outside of some select pool servers. Service is ridiculously slow, there aren't enough umbrellas to shade from the sun, and the umbrellas they do have are more for show than anything else because they can't actually be placed in a position to shade anything but your feet. Service: SLOW. flagging someone down is a chore. If you get someone, order everything you need because they might not come back (getting your food, clearing out other guest's dishes, getting a menu, etc.). Unfortunately when we were there, the kitchen wasn't getting the tickets. So folks (including us) were waiting for 20-30 mins for salad, cookies. Food: it's just ok. Not bad, but also nothing special. Of course it's expensive. Which I don't mind paying for high quality. I wouldn't say that's the case here. HOWEVER: if you're there on a day with Carter, ask for him. He was AMAZING. Quick, on it, friendly, on his game. Seating at the pool: Good luck getting a pool chair. It's a really small area with no time limits. Which isn't a bad thing if you're able to snag one. Parking: Valet takes fooooorever!!! And it's expensive. You have a better chance parking at a nearby lot and walking to SOHO than using their parking services. SOHO house seems to be a place for people to say they have a membership to something exclusive. Other than that, I don't understand why anyone would want to be a member here. read more

I had high expectations for soho house due to their reputation for being special and elite. However, I was disappointed. We came on a saturday afternoon around 2pm for tea for a bachlorette party. Reservations were made, but they didn't have our table ready at the time specified. In addition, they didn't seem to have enough cups for tea in the restaurant which was strange since that is what they served. We ordered afternoon tea about $40 a person which included 1 tea per person in a personal pot and scones, finger sandwiches, and fancy cakes. The tea flavor was delightful. I ordered the oolong which was original and had bold rich flavor. However, the tea arrived lukewarm, boarderline cold. The cakes and sandwiches were delightful and delicious. Some of us even had to unbutton our pants since we had been eating all day and wanted to squeeze in more. The ambiance was nice with high ceilings and unique furniture pieces. It has a calm bustle if you're looking to sit and study. there was a full service bar as well. There was no music but there was good conversational noises without being too loud. The service was awful. The communication about our table was non existant when it wasn't ready, the waiters were not attentive. It took about 20 mins for them to take our order and another 30 for our food and tea. When the tea was lukewarm one of the ladies asked for it to be made hot and the waitress acted extremely put off. When we were ready for the check our waiter couldn't be found. We had to hunt someone down and ask for boxes. We also had to ask for more boxes since the guy brought 2 for the 10 girl party and then proceeded to bring 1 more at a time. This was the third time I've been here, and as they say, third time's the charm. I had a lovely evening here with my family on a Friday night. We came for dessert and drinks. Luckily, one of the big shared tables on the first floor was open. It's hard to get a spot during their peak hours. The DJ played 70s/80s music my parents like, and then switched it to 90s/current songs I like. The setting was dim and relaxing, perfect for conversing. We ordered the apple tart a la mode and devil's food cake. Both were yummy and good-sized. I ordered the chai latte. It tasted more of coffee than chai which I wasn't too much a fan of. I kindly asked for a clean glass after finding lipstick on the rim of the glass he was about to pour my drink into. He proceeded to mock me and complain about all the "drunk soho customers" despite the fact that I had just arrived with a friend and we were ordering our first drink. Things got even more interesting and aggressive from there when he went into what appeared to be a mental breakdown. Ultimately he was aggressive and off color with his entire demeanor and approach.
