They made a huge impact on our day and left a memorable connection between our families. We had a more intimate, private ceremony that we set-up ourselves and Edward & Cynzia both did not hesitate to give us an extra hand. The ceremony in the barn and dinner on the front porch was stunning. The rain became a part of our day and my husband and I wouldn't change a thing. We were surrounded by so much love, talent, support, & beauty that our stay here at the Gillen House has become one of our fondest memories. Edward & Cynzia are crazy talented and creative !! The house and grounds hold so much history that they both worked so hard to preserve yet tastefully elevate. I love their thrifts & art. The house is full of pieces they have collected and created themselves and you can find yourself lost in them. Such a serene & beautiful place. We hope to stay close and will be coming back here! Thank you so much Edward & Cynzia ! - John and Fahmida (& her siblings) p.s breakfast was so delicious! Edward's french toast was amazing! The dining space was so peaceful and perfect for our morning after!

If you are looking for a luxury, boutique bed and breakfast in Athens, GA, look no further. Owners…read moreCameron and Candice are Athens natives, UGA graduates, and obviously have poured their hearts and souls into their bed and breakfast property. The accommodations are meticulously decorated and comfortable. Breakfasts are catered by a local restaurant between 7am - 11am, and include scrambled eggs, bacon, orange juice, coffee, tea, several choices of baked goods, and even some Prosecco available if you want to concoct your own morning mimosa. In addition, beer, wine, and bottled still and sparkling waters are available all day, along with some crunchy packaged snacks in the afternoon. The location is in the Five Points area, which has many excellent restaurants within walking distance. We also noticed that Milledge Ave. is a popular jogging route for students in the morning. Not into jogging? A pleasant walk among the shade trees is a lovely diversion along the route as well. Parking is adjacent to the building and included. Access to the rooms and building are through an app which is easy to use. We felt like personal guests of the owners, and they ensured that we were satisfied with everything from start to finish. After our recent stay, I can't imagine staying anywhere else when visiting Athens again. We will definitely be back.

I am a big fan of luxury and this place really hit all the marks - beautiful rooms with fun modern luxury furnishings, beautiful common areas, very comfortable. We were wandering around the common areas to get coffee in the mornings. It was all just lovely. The owners really care about their customers and about ensuring that everything goes smoothly. We appreciated that. We will be back.

The parking could use some better signage. The food service went smoothly. Utilizing two lines is great. They squeezed far too many people in the room. Very claustrophobic. The bridal party table is located in front of the bathrooms. Rather awkward location. The sound system is AWFUL. If you want people to listen to you, they need to be able to hear you. The EMCEE needs to reduce the amount of corny jokes. We are here for the bride and groom, not you...sorry, not sorry. The plastic bags on the lights on the patio are super tacky. The use of real linens is very nice but I wish that had included linen napkins too (perhaps a client choice?)

You couldn't ask for more for a bed and breakfast. private bathroom in each room and an adequate continental breakfast. We had the entire venue to ourselves, and were given permission to "make it our home." The event planning portion of our stay could not have been easier. JoAnn was professional and made us really feel like we were in good hands. All our worries were put to rest and she had answers for all of our questions. We are in no doubt that no matter what happens, our day will go off without a hitch. The wedding venue is all inclusive and priced VERY competitively. It is so nice to be able to just make 4 payments and show up on our wedding day knowing that everything from the DJ to the decorating is done.
