Stopped in for drinks with another couple - good service, reasonably priced drinks, and plenty of TV's to watch the games. When we arrived, they were pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon, and then a very large group of 30 or so showed up. They were able to keep up with getting everyone served! We didn't have anything to eat - menu showed some appetizers and pizzas. Looked like pretty basic options. Would definitely go back for a drink or two, and might try some grub as well! read more

They refuse to refund the crazy amount of tip they put down now they blocked me on social media because i am relentless and will give them bad reviews until they refund my tip. Scammers. Great little pub in a strip mall, in front of our hotel. We stopped in here, before heading out to meet up with family members. Seems to be lots of locals. Only one bartender, but she's keeping up! I smell amazing smells of pub food, specifically, burgers. Heading out to dinner, but I would definitely try the food if I weren't. read more

Nice bar, little dive vibe to it buts that's okay. The pizza was very good, thin crust and nice sauce. The service was very good.

So I was there with five other coworkers at 6:30 in the evening. We were there to eat and drink and we sat at the very front table. I counted everybody in the bar and there was a total of 29 people in the bar. That is including us. There was two bartenders working and we sat there for 17 minutes and got no service. But we did watch both bartenders do shots with people sitting at the bar. Now I know a lot of people give me grief that if I want to drink I should go up to the bar but I've ran a bar before and it's not that hard to serve 29 people that aren't eating. Especially with two bartenders working. This is absolutely absurd that the service is that horrible. read more

Had a beer and "nachos" here last night. The beer was cold and at a good price. The nachos were the worst I ever had. Layer of round chips covered with cheese fresh diced tomatoes a few slivers of cheese and about 1/3 to 1/2 of a hamburger crumbled on top. Recommend the beer but not the food. read more

Very reasonable prices and a friendly atmosphere. I went on a Thursday night and they had all the relevant sporting events on numerous TVs that were all visible from my seat. They had like 5-6 beers on tap, 3 are the giant macro light beers that seem to be everywhere but they had at least 2 beers that weren't macro-brews (not "craft" beers, just medium size breweries). The space they have isn't terribly well utilized but the night I went there weren't so many people that the viable space there was crowded. They apparently also have a patio in the back but it was much too brisk for my wife and I to try it out. read more

Pretty much a bar in a strip center that serves pizza. Not much on the menu. Pizza was average and service was pretty slow. The sweet sixteen was going on so it was a little crowded. Not a bad place and would go again but know your getting ok food with ok service. read more

Had a really good personal size buffalo pizza. Server was friendly enough. Beer selection was limited but, they had a really good local IPA. I was pleasantly surprised for a small local watering hole. I may go back tomorrow just to try something else. Good spot for those of your traveling though Des Moines. read more

My wife and I hung out at Vista Pub last night for the first time and had a great time. We had a couple late night appetizers and they were delicious! Courtney and Jaime were awesome bartenders and we met some cool patrons while we were in there! I would highly recommend it!! read more

Nice little pub. I've gone here for a few times after work have gotten some food during my lunch beaks before. I've always been quite satisfied with the service and cleanliness of the pub. The personal pizzas are very good and the hospitality of the employees is fantastic. 2 very large tvs behind the bar as well. Great for game day. read more

Man is this place good! Right when I stepped in I was immediately greeted by the bartender! I ordered the personal pizza and it was phenomenal! It was just the right size, and with a side of sidewinder fries it was perfect. Everything was fairly priced which made it even better! Bartender/server was very friendly. Clearly, we were not one of the locals who were abundant, but we were never slighted. Not a huge menu, but it served our purpose. We got the meatball appetizer and two small pizzas - one was whatever their all meat version was; the other was buffalo chicken. The meat one was OK at best - my gf said it tasted like any other frozen pizza. My buffalo chicken pizza, however, was pretty darn good. The meatball appetizer was above average - the meat itself was decent, and the marinara sauce was tasty. Tried a local IPA that was really good. The bar did not have iced tea, but the server went "next door to get some" for us. Overall, a good experience as long as you keep your expectations in check. I'd go back if visiting Des Moines again. read more

Awesome happy hour spot. Brings in a a decent sized crowd with familiar faces every night. Great lunch special personal pizza and a beer for $7 bucks! They also have a great beer garden in the back. This place had a kind of rocky start in my opinion. It seemed like staff were a bit directionless and and the bar was a bit plain. But this bar has definitely come around. We love to stop in here after dinner in the JC area. Quaint, quiet, and clean. Only gripe I can think of is juke box songs are absurdly expensive. I like to put in $5 and DJ up a play list. Gone way down hill this past year. Bartenders change and the new ones aren't trained. Refuse to put the sound on for the NCAA tourney because the bartender working wanted music despite what the patrons requested. Sometimes I go here for happy hour to get away from the office drama and politics. Unfortunately the last few times I have been there the bartenders do nothing but complain about other bartenders and their management. It's hardly the environment that is relaxing. The service is horrible, we waited 15 mins to get serviced when there was 10 customers and two employees. A tall guy wearing all Iowa stuff walked right by us to clean a table. We are from out of town been here three straight nights and the service got worse the older lady was rude. If your not a local they dont want your business. They need another pub here in the area. read more
