Walking in, the store is an automatic happy place. The bright colors. Adorable clothing. And easy to shop design esthetic. The store is not overcrowded nor is everything jumbled together. The clothes are hanging and in order of size which is absolutely amazing. The young lady (Lenbb) who was behind the register was super pleasant. She greeted us when we entered the store and allowed us space to browse and shop. This is huge as most boutique style stores tend to apply pressure to make a purchase. As we browsed the store my sister came across some super cute clothing that would be perfect for the girls. However, the game changer for me was the socks!! OMG!!! Anyone who knows me knows that I love cute socks. Bright colors. Catchy Designs. Argyle and all. Any sock that catches my eye immediately has to be purchased. As such... can you guess what I purchased??? LoL!!! Super cute. Super comfortable. Very affordable. And most of all, super eye-catching socks. Many of the educational toys are on display so you can interact with them before you purchase. The sensory choices are literally endless and I easily and happily spend over an hour every time I visit. There's so many options to make math, reading, writing, etc. fun and engaging. I was visiting ATL for the weekend and wanted to visit some yarn stores so the Craftivist came up in my research. I saw that they host events for people to come in and work on their fiber arts a few times a week so this sold me on visiting! When I stopped in, I was greeted and there was space for me to sit down. I recently had a private knitting lesson here…read more The instructor begin with telling me the different types of forms yarn comes in, ie. hanks, skeins and balls along with other information about knitting. After the introduction the instructor picked out a wood circular knitting needle for me. The reason for choosing the wood I was told it would help hold the yarn better for a beginner versus a metal needle. When it came time to choose the yarn I was told to make my choice from a small area. I picked a mustard yarn. The next day I received an invoice from the store because I didn't pay for the items. Silly me. I assumed because I was only allowed to pick out from a certain section that it was included with the lesson that I had paid for. Unfortunately, because the yarn I chose was quite small. It has been difficult as a beginner working with it. There have been a lot of starts and stops which I would expect but more so because of the size of the yarn. I have since learned as a beginner I should have a bulkier yarn. When I left that day, I had not gotten the hang of the cast on, or the knit stitch. Five minutes before the class was to end we had just finished casting on and that didn't leave much time for the knitting since the store was opening. Since taking the class I have been able to get the hang of the cast on and the knit stitch thanks to Sheep and Stitch on YouTube. I think the reason I didn't get the hang of it in the store was because of the teaching style. It just didn't mesh with my learning style. I would definitely recommend the classes to anyone here. Very professional staff. Because the yarn I ended up purchasing isn't good for beginners. I did call the store to see if I could exchange it, but I was told they would not accept it because it had already been wound. The staff was very nice. They were very helpful when customers came in.
