It had everything you need and what they had was top notch. *AMBIANCE* Cozy, elegant, and stylish. There is some history to this place and you can tell two things: 1) It is family owned and they are taking good care of the place, and 2) the interior decoration is outstanding and they family put a lot of effort into getting it to where it is. Overall, the place is very quiet, peaceful, and a great place to relax. *SAUNAS* Their saunas met the mark with a high margin. The hot sauna is hot! The infrared sauna makes you sweat! The low heat sauna is great for relaxing! The water pool - cold! The steam room - great for skin cleansing and relaxing. They were all kept very clean! *ETIQUETTE* No clothes of any kind allowed in the saunas. Place your towel under you to cover your full body and to capture your sweat. Saunas and dressing room are co-ed, in fact the entire place is co-ed. Behave respectfully and politely. Ask the staff for any clarification, as they were super polite, helpful, and kind. Basically we dozed off near the pool before our treatments. The signature spa experience was excellent. We each had own room (the spa was renovated and as a result they lost their couples room). Both of our therapists were excellent. The experience consists of a massage, body scrub, and facial (120 minutes) followed by a glass of Prosecco. We both were exhausted after the flight, so it was a blissful experience - we both fell asleep! The cold immersion bath or little pool is really cold (that is the way it is meant to be). There is a private outside sitting area as well for use in summer. Everything is perfectly functional and the facilities are adequate. You can rent towels and robes at the counter and there is a small pantry offering tea, juices, sandwich, shakes and warm soup (vegetarian of course). The sauna including the dressing or changing room is mixed gender. Tuesdays are vrouwendag (women's day) and the sauna is closed on Wednesdays. There is no bath suit day. The prices are more than reasonable. It is about half the charge when compared to Deco. The sauna has a massage room on site which is leased to professional masseurs. You have to make an appointment if you plan to get a massage. Don't expect to find grandeur, luxury and spa like atmosphere. It is sufficiently small place and there are no other sauna rooms apart from the dry sauna & steam room. The atmosphere inside can be improved further to give it a cozy feel. There is a local feeling and casual atmosphere to it, like the around the corner neighborhood place and there are lots of regulars. The sauna is staffed mostly by volunteers and they are friendly. After Fenomeen closed, this has become the best alternative.

This spa is beautiful and luxurious. Pampering defined. It's a bit more expensive than the Jordaan location because the services come with access to the spa facilities, which includes a pool, several types of saunas and steam rooms and for sunny days a sunning deck. When you check in you get a fluffy robe and slippers. You can shower. Linger from room to room. And get in the zone for whatever treatment you're going to get. Even though the location is crazy hectic, once you're in there and in your robe you completely forget you're in the heart of the city. I went in for a facial and it did not disappoint. I usually find that many of the facials in Amsterdam are just an application of various products and are not very clinical. This was not the case at all. You could have eaten lunch off of my face it was that clean and smooth! The arm and leg massage was a pleasant surprise.
