For a VERY reasonable fee, they've been coming every 2 weeks to clean my house top-to-bottom (or 2nd-floor-to-finished-basement ). Carpets and rugs vacuumed, floors mopped, counters and tables cleaned, stainless steel appliances polished, sinks and tubs and toilets scrubbed, shelves dusted, beds made, trash cans emptied...they even fold up flowers in the toilet paper rolls. There hasn't been a time I've asked them to take care of a special circumstance that they have said no (including cobwebs). And they are very respectful of your belongings...so if your house is disorganized, they aren't going to move all of your junk around to clean...do the right thing and straighten up before they come (I have a 2 year old and a dog so there are normally toys EVERYWHERE...I take the 10 minutes to put everything away the night before they are coming). There have been a couple of minor things that have happened - they are human after all - but nothing that required more than a quick talk with Adrian to square away. I would have no hesitation recommending First Cleaning.

I hired them for a move-in cleaning. We were on a tight timeframe and had just 2 days before we had to move in. Helen was very easy to communicate with, but that's where the positive experience ended. We weren't there when they came in to clean on a Tuesday. When we went in the following morning, it truly appeared as though nobody had come in. The kitchen was filthy, whole closets were skipped, windowsills ignored, just truly we questioned if maybe they hadn't come in at all. Helen agreed that it was not up to par so she sent the team back for Thursday. This really set back our moving plans and caused panic, but we didn't have much of a choice. My husband was there when the crew arrived on Thursday. They were rude, dismissive, and acted dismayed when he asked them to clean things - like the fridge!! Even though he pointed out all the areas we needed them to focus on, we came in with our moving truck on Friday, and while the kitchen looked a bit better (appliances still filthy) closets and windowsills were still skipped. Helen will probably respond and say "dust settles long after a house is cleaned." I am talking about actual filth skipped altogether identified within 24 hours of the supposed cleaning completion. She will also mention that I added a screened porch and garage the second day - I was under the impression that was covered from the beginning but in any event, my complaints have nothing to do with those rooms. For $840, days lost when we could have started moving things in, endless phone calls and stress/panic, I am deeply regretful for having take a chance on a sub-par company for such an important job. They don't seem to cover even the basics, let alone a deep clean. I still very much doubt they had even come the first day. Helen insists they did, but that really reflects poorly on them because of how dirty they left things. Clearly no standards or checklist to speak of. Stay away.

When it was clear I was upset at her tactless response, she called to act apologetic and then said "So I'm guessing you're not going to pay then"... again, a comment that was triggering and in poor taste given the situation. My cat ended up returning, I paid for the cleaning (which was very overpriced), and when I offered Marguerite suggestions for her customers in the future-- to include conversation about pets in the intake-- she again made it seem like it was somehow my fault ("Usually customers just tell us when they have pets"). After the walk-through, there was no response to my voicemail asking to finalize details prior to arrival (e.g., types of cleaner used). RESULT: Although courteous, 2 staff members arrived 20 minutes late, rushed the job (45-50 minutes), relied heavily on chemical sprays, and did not do a thorough cleaning. (Service provided a few days prior to Thanksgiving of 2015). A cleaning company should conduct a professional walk-through, review your cleaning preferences, provide a quote for specific services/number of hours, be communicative - and follow through.
