I sincerely hope the two people who cleaned my 88-year-old father's home were swiftly fired. They were to perform a certain service and they did not. That's bad enough, but when asked, they lied to his face and said it had been done. Taking advantage of an elderly man is despicable. So I called. To be in and out in exactly one hour (for $160, by the way) just tells me there are other things not done. The person I spoke to asked these women if they had performed this task, and I heard it, the one woman said they had and they used the rags my father provided. The bottle wasn't opened and the rags were clean, not touched. Liars. I would have hung up the phone and fired both of them. A refund would have been nice, but no. An hour and complete disrespect for $160. Their service was discontinued. read more

they basically do half of the job and ask you to extend time. the counter is still filthy after the service. despite of being late for more than 30 minutes, they also didn't work efficiency. don't be fooled by their fantastic google reviews. could have spend way less on a single cleaning service person for a much better job. read more

This service is really terrible. They broke our wedding cake topper on their first visit and locked our cat in a closet despite us telling them to please leave all of the doors open since he hides in places. Management didn't really care about either issue. Offered a refund on the cake topper, but that wasn't what we were looking for. Nothing in the way of an apology or guarantee. Decided to give them another chance since they rotate teams which was a mistake. There was a problem every cleaning. The decided our drying rack for baby bottles was actually where dish rags should go. They constantly did not put things back the way they were to the point where we had to clean up with them every time. We were spending as much time fixing their mistakes as we were saving having them do the cleaning. In addition to the above complaints, the quality of cleaning was low. I often vacuumed the rugs and cleaned areas they 'missed.' We finally fired them. Don't give them your business. read more

Absolutely horrible service. They did not do half of what they say will be done in their contract. Obvious spots of dirt all over my floors, just didn't dust, terrible customer service. They agreed to cone out again to redo it and basically said they they wouldn't once they got here. read more

A very so so job as the deep cleaning is not my idea of great service. Very obvious things did not get cleaned at all! Yes they came back but for $180 this whole house was supposed to be spotless. Found construction dust on the kitchen backsplash and under both beds. Found a large chunk of glass an inch under the refrigerator. Poor service. Had this service for 4 cleanings. Constantly found things not done i.e. sinks not cleaned, floors not cleaned under tables. Tried to resolve with owners but full of excuses like well, sometimes we miss things. Refused to inspect or follow up on workers on last scheduled visit so I canceled their service. Inconsistant quality of cleaning, depending on which team they send to your house. For the most part, I wouldn't call them any kind of "authority". The crews come out and wipe down the areas that are listed on their work orders, but they don't actually look for dirt or try to get a deep down clean. I had used them for more than a year, and then the crew must have dropped a vacuum or something on the stairs, chipping the edge. They left without even mentioning it to me. When I called to cancel my service, I had to leave a message. Greg called me back and left another message saying they would take me off the schedule, but expressed no interest as to why I was leaving. read more

I have been using the Cleaning Authority for over a year . I have been fortunate to get a good group to do the cleaning. Presently Erin and Tyler are cleaning and are both very professional, reliable , honest and hard working. I have them clean every two weeks and the staff and owner have been great to work with . I especially like how trustworthy they are as I am not always able to be home while they are working. The difficult part is that in this business it is hard to keep employees. SO when they leave we have to adjust to someone new in our homes. This is just the nature of the business. read more

I used the Cleaning Authority for 3 years. Although they were not perfect and did not pay attention to detail, it was way better than I would have cleaned. The price was good and I was happy, although they always seemed to leave some cleaning tool or supply behind.. However, over Christmas break I noticed all my gold jewelry gone. The only people who had been in my house over Christmas was the Cleaning Authority. We contacted them and although they did give us the names of addresses of the ladies who had cleaned that day, that was it. No apology, no reimbursement. I immediately cancelled the service and filed a police report. I am devastated as all my gold jewelry came from my late mother and grandmother. They even took my high school ring and daughter's baptism necklace. I still tear up as I think about my mother's ring that I wore everyday but just happen to take it off over Christmas to wear a new ring my husband had given me. The family jewelry is gone and no amount of money from our insurance company will ever replace it. Please do not hire this company. Find a private person that you really know and trust. read more

I have been using the services of The Cleaning Authority in Newark DE for almost 2 years and have been consistently pleased with the results. Team #17 was assigned to me on day 1 and has been with me ever since. I've never had reason to request a change in team. The team lead has remained the same for quite some time but even though other team members can periodically change, the quality of the cleaning does not. A few times I've needed to temporarily change the date of my service. All I do is call and it's done. Tricia and Yareli did an excellent job on this past visit and always leave my house looking nice and feeling refreshed. I have been very satisfied with TCA. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE! I hired The Cleaning Authority for a Move-Out clean in preparation for new tenants in my house. The company requires a minimum of two hours, so I pre-cleaned the EMPTY house (swept and vacuumed hardwood floors and cleaned the oven) to maximize their two hours and asked them not to go over. I asked them to prioritize the kitchen and bathroom and to clean the inside of cabinets and appliances. I made them aware that no one is living in the house, I have all hardsurface floors and that it is empty, so two hours should be plenty. I also explained to them that I would not be by the house the following day to inspect their work, but would get back to them later. They said this was fine. Upon inspecting their work, and the arrival of my new tenants, I found that they did not clean any of the floors, they did not clean the inside of all cabinets, and they did not clean the inside of the freezer. They also damaged a bathroom item, which was not reported to me. After calling to complain, I learned that they did not stay the full (required minimum) two hours because they didn't think what was left to clean in the house could be done in the remaining 15 minutes. They also treated the bathroom damage like no big deal and didn't apologize or offer a discount and refused one when I asked for one because I didn't call the following day. I reminded them that they told me calling later was fine because I was not at the house. No comment. When I asked them how long it takes to clean the inside of a freezer, no intelligent answer. I spoke with a rude woman, and then the owner, who was equally as rude. The best they could offer was to send someone out to the house to finish the job AT EXTRA COST. I explained I'm not interested in that offer because 1. I already cleaned up myself 2. I'm not paying additional cost for something that should've been completed, and 3. My tenants are already moved in. The owners response was "you should've called the following day," so again, I RE-explained that they were told at the scheduling that I would not be by the following day. No comment. This is a terrible service with even worse customer service. Their whole attitude implies "oh well, not my problem." I've called my credit card company to dispute the bill. Originally, I was only asking for a discount, but now I'm disputing the whole cost. Do yourself a favor and use someone else! read more

Used THE CLEANING AUTHORITY for nearly 1 1/2 yrs on a monthly basis. For the most part, we've been happy with the thoroughness of their cleaning crews. Prior to cleaning, I remove any jewelry, other than costume, from my dresser top & tuck valued items away. It saddens me to write that approximately 2 mos ago, it was obvious 3 of my dresser drawers were riffled through. Two favorite & sentimental rings were/are missing. I contacted The Cleaning Authority & was instructed to call the police. A police officer did an inspection & wrote a report. He assured me he would check the local pawn shops & call each Cleaning Authority employee who cleaned the day of the theft in for an interview. I was contacted by the officer & told a detective would also arrange a lie detector test. Two months have passed since the incident. I called the owner of The Cleaning Authority & he informed me unless his "girls" are found guilty, there is no restitution. I'm beyond frustrated! read more

We used the cleaning authority for about a year or so for monthly cleans. They did not pay attention to detail and I had to call them on several occasions to complain that the place wasn't cleaned thoroughly (i.e. glass shower doors not clean, shelves in tub not clean, grout in tub not clean, furniture not dusted or wiped, floors still dirty, dust balls on the stairs, spots in the kitchen sink and appliances). I also had to request management to come inspect the home and come back to clean it a few times while we retained them. To make matters worse, I scheduled a move out clean and was charged over $200 for the clean to find out they did a poor job (blinds had spots, oven wasn't cleaned out, fans were dusty, basement wasn't swept). When I called to talk to management about the issue and potentially getting a discount for the service, I received the WORST customer service from Greg. He was very defensive and unprofessional. He also accused my landlord of lying about the clean not being done properly. I do not recommend spending your money on a cleaning service that does a mediocre job and has bad customer service. We booked one of their detailed cleans. They left trash paper on the dining room table. They didn't wipe the coffee table. They did a basic sweep/mop job, but neglected to get all the crumbs from around the dining room table. I wasn't impressed and won't be calling them back. read more
