They didn't clean everything I paid for. They left a receipt showing that they cleaned the kitchen countertops, cleaned the kitchen appliances, and dusted the shelves, but these and many other items weren't done. Hired these guys a while back for a reoccurring cleaning service and on several occasions had to call and have the staff come back out to re-clean. If a job well done the first time matters to you, move on -this is not the company you are looking for... Each cleaning"service" was overall, low quality work - mostly they straightened things up. We were very disappointed as we expected we would be coming home to a clean house. In our initial meeting with the owner, he gave us a nice list of what they would be cleaning on their rotation every week. (heretofore referred to (per my husband as, "The List of Lies." : D ) It sounded great, he was nice, and we believed they would provide good service. After the first visit, I thought maybe they had an off day. Our main request to prioritize dusting the blinds (which is on their "each visit" checklist) was... interesting. The blinds were pushed into the window frames (and left that way in a couple of rooms) but had not been dusted/cleaned. They also broke a bulb in our guest bathroom and didn't get the glass completely cleaned up - we found the broken pieces, under the soap plate they did not move- though the bulb and any other remaining pieces had been removed. Thought maybe they would leave a note or would just bring a replacement bulb next visit, but neither happened. Our home is an easy one, no kids, a couple of cats. Still, there was no improvement in quality of work on future visits. They do say you can let them know if you are not satisfied you can contact them and they will send people back to your location to make it right. If you would like to do that, you may be fine working with them. For me, getting ahold of them and having them return while I am there to supervise is not the point of hiring them. We ended up cancelling our service with them and they were not interested in why we did not want to continue. They were happy to be paid for the service they (barely) provided. I understand this is not a glamorous job and on some days the cleaners might be really tired and on other days, the job might really suck. Regardless, I would advise you to seek help elsewhere and not open your home to this company. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Do not go to them they are HORRIBLE!!! They charge you for the exorbitant amount of "deep clean" for the first two visits then when you are on a twice a month rotation they cancel on you over and over. The deep clean was done poorly. Had one clean where they sprayed everything and didn't wipe it down. I called and wrote them an email on it and they finally got back to me offering a free cleaning then kept canceling on me. So never got the "free" cleaning. What a scam. They say they want to make your life easier but they just made it harder. Beware do not go to this company. read more

We were using a weekly service ($85/wk) for the last half year. At first, our home was pretty clean and demonstrated a nice attention to detail. But over the last two months (and especially the last two weeks), the service just really declined. Here are some of the (many) issues we recently encountered: - "4 person hours of cleaning" that we paid for quickly turned into 1 person cleaning for less than 2 hours; security footage shows 1 maid showing up for less than 90 minutes last week. That's about $60 / hour for a maid if you do the math. - Forgotten rooms, constantly; I don't remember the last time they remembered to clean the powder room. But they remember to charge me for it. - Maid either took or threw away whole rolls of new garbage bags I placed in bathrooms near the trash cans for her convenience, then left cans with no bags inserted throughout the house. - The same leaf sat on the tile in our entryway for more than a month. I left it there as a litmus test for the cleaning service; they failed. The leaf persists. With so many other options on the market, I couldn't recommend Cleaning Authority to anyone. read more

Terrible experience with the Midvale franchise. I booked my cleaning a month in advance and was told I would get a call the day before the cleaning appointment. Never received a call. Appointment was 10:00 to 2:00. I called the day of cleaning and left voicemail asking for confirmation. No return call. Called again and girl said my time was changed to 2:00 3:00. I waited until 3:40 and called again. No answer. Called Corporate office. Representative was wonderful. He tried 4 different numbers and finally reached the Midvale franchise. They said "Sorry, running late. A team of 5 can come soon to clean your house". I told them to cancel...forever. They said they had "tried" to call me. They had the correct number. NO calls or texts or recents showed up on my I Phone. read more

I've used The Cleaning Authority for the past 12-years. I started looking for a service in 2006. I tried several different companies before I found The Cleaning Authority. I'd like to share some of the reasons why I've used their services. 1. Consistency: The Cleaning Authority (TCA) always calls 24-hours ahead of time to remind me of my scheduled appointment. Since I work from home, they also provide me with a window for when the crew will arrive. That allows me to plan my work around their visit. 2. Quality of Service: Every cleaner or crew that has worked on my home has done a high-quality job. They're always very kind and thorough and regularly go out of their way to get things done right. When there was a problem (only one a long time ago) with the wrong cleaner used on my kitchen tile, Scott sent someone out first thing the next day to redo the job correctly, and no questions asked. 3. Price: Of all the other cleaning services, TCA had significantly lower costs and did a better job than their competitors. 4. Trust: Over the years, TCA has cleaned my home about 312 times. There's never been a problem with pilferage, ever. I'm glad I found TCA. They make my life easier, and my home is more comfortable and welcoming. They do a better job than I could do myself, and the time I save allows to focus on things I'd rather be doing. If you're looking for a cleaning service, make sure to give The Cleaning Authority a call. You'll be glad you did. read more

"Cleaned" my home with dirty equipment. Home smelled like dirty mop water when they left and sweeping a paper towel across the floor they mopped showed the floor was still grimy! GROSS. They also don't wear masks while cleaning--if they left my home dirty, how could I trust their practices or hygiene during a pandemic. read more

The Cleaning Authority was a huge disappointment! The cleaning staff was an hour late. For our initial clean, they were supposed to clean the house thoroughly so they could do maintenance for future bi-weekly cleaning. Two employees were here for 1.5 hours. The service cost me $80 per hour which is quite high for this type of service. When I got home, the place smelled clean; and that is where the clean ended. I found that they did NOT do the following cleaning: mopping the hardwood floors; move any furniture, for example, ottomans and trash cans when sweeping; sweep under furniture; one bedroom; vacuum the stairs (they swept the carpeted stairs); tub and shower in one bathroom; bathroom mirrors thoroughly; dust all of the living room furniture; move any kitchen counter appliances to clean under them - not even the crumbs under the toaster on the toaster tray. Basically, they did not do what they were hired to do. I called the company immediately; and they told me they would have a manager call me back. An office manager called me back within 10 minutes of the first call. I explained the situation. The response was that they would take $34 dollars off the bill; and send someone on Monday to clean. I explained that the reason I scheduled them on Fridays was to have my house cleaned on the weekends and to ensure the house was clean for company. The next solution was to email another manager with the information I had given the office manager and attach pictures. I did as requested. The office manager did apologize for me having to spend my afternoon cleaning. Bottom line...If you want a cleaning service that CLEANS, do not use this service! With the exceptions of the toilets and sinks, they just did the same surface clean I had done the day before prepping for the professional cleaners to come in. Well, I'm off to clean after having "cleaners", ha! P.S. If the company responds that they have looked up my information, and do not have record of me as a client...I have the cleaning agreement, witnesses and documented phone conversations. read more

Cleaning quality is crap. The owner was very nice at first but failed to return my calls and to offer a solution. They did remember to charge me very quickly and efficiently. BEWARE OF THIEVING MAIDS! One of their maids was OBSERVED riffling through bathrooms drawers and two items were later found missing. This is a basement bathroom NEVER used by anyone but my boys. The theft was bad enough, but management's response added insult from injury. I notified them of the theft and was assured that Michelle, the owner, would call the following day. Absolutely do not count on these people. We were moving out of our home and had been clients of theirs in the past. When the cleaners showed up late in the afternoon after cleaning 3 other jobs and were exhausted they told us since we had some items in the middle of the room it would be more beneficial for them to come first thing the following morning so they could get a fresh start on the clean. They never showed up !!!We called several times and then they informed us that since we canceledl the day before they were two booked to come back. We did not cancel them!!!!!! They put us in a horrible position leaving us stranded with a stressful move and then having to clean the whole house when they were hired to do it!!!! Hired this company for the first and last time! They didn't dust a single thing. There are parts of the floor that didn't get touched with a mop or vacuum. I called and left a message. The cleaning authority, to be blunt, is a rip-off. As a franchise, it is run like a business to maximize profits with little to no concern about customer satisfaction. I've hired them twice - usually willing to give most people the benefit of the doubt. I spoke with Scott, the local owner, specifically about how running around with a feather duster instead of actually wiping / cleaning surfaces mostly just spreads the dust in the air without really cleaning anything. Nevertheless, the next crew did the same thing and didn't change how they were cleaning even after I asked them to. At $45 / hour it is a rip-off. I also suspect that the two crews I had, both comprised of latino women are happy to get whatever they are being paid while the franchise rakes in a good portion of the fee. I can't say they did a terrible job in many regards. The oil spots their car left in my driveway are an aded bonus. read more

When we arranged for Cleaning Authority to clean our home, they offered a great rate. We explained that we had moved out and that some pretty simple cleaning tasks needed to be done. We asked for general cleaning services: Vaccuming/mopping, wiping down appliances and cupboards, and wiping down walls and baseboards since we were going to paint. We were quoted 1 person at $25/hour coming for the afternoon, and were quoted between $125 and $225. Keep in mind that it's only a 2200 sq. ft house. This was all communicated with Scott (the owner). I arrived at my house that evening around 6:15 to paint. While the cleaners did a very good job on the blinds, inside of the fridge (which had already been cleaned, and is a fairly new fridge), and on the bathrooms, none of the walls had been wiped, the baseboards were as dirty as ever, and the floors were only passably clean. They had been wiped (tile and wood) or vacuumed, but contaminants were evident upon close inspection. Oh and they skipped entire rooms. I had to vacuum the entire storage area. And they had actually made the windows worse when cleaning the blinds. They told us that they would not clean windows (because that's super hard?) but at least they could not get them dirty and/or clean up after themselves. I figured hey, they charge a decent rate and it's obvious that they didn't stay long, I probably got an okay deal. If this were the whole story, I'd probably give them a 2 or 3 star review for a decent service at a reasonable price. But this is where it gets good. We get a bill for $300. I contacted Scott about why the price was so high. They claim that they sent 2 people for 6 hours. I don't think this is reasonably possible since we have cleaned our house in much less time with 2 people, so I asked Scott what times they said they arrived and left our house. I have not gotten any response from him since. I find that extremely unprofessional for the owner of a business. And of course, they won't go back on that claim, and while they don't have proof they were there and actually working, I don't have solid evidence against it either. So I'm forced to pay $300 for a cleaning job I could have done by myself in 1-2 hours, max. My only course of action is to give them a 1 star review and hope that I can warn any of you reading this against working with them. Ever. They will lie to get your business and charge your card whatever they can. read more
