I was there for a conference and this place was very nice. The staff was very friendly and the overall feel for the resort was accommodating. Check in process was easy. The restaurants were very tasty. As for skiing, this mountain is very steep. The greens and blues are nice. The 1 thing I'd say they need to improve on a simpler was to get from the main lift to the right side of the mountain. It's a hike! If you are a beginner or beginner/intermediate this mountain is probably not for you, unless you stick to the right side of the mountain. Even then the blues get pretty steep and some have moguls come out of nowhere. That's 1 thing for me, I'm an intermediate skier but I want to cruise down the mountain nice and easy, I come Colorado where we have some nice ski resorts and to me, the green on this mountain felt like blues, blues felt like blacks, and so on. The restaurant at the top of the mountain is amazing! I also went shopping at their ski shop and oh my goodness, what a variety they have! I found so many cute things. The Cliff Lodge is a ski resort that has several restaurants, snowboarding in the winter, and they also have a rooftop swimming pool that just has a breathtaking view. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly and professional. The only con I would have to say about the staff was that they were not very knowledgeable about the hotel. They didn't know the prices for the activities or how to get from one place in the hotel to another. The Cliff Lodge has something for everyone for all ages and it is also a kid friendly location. It has amenities such as pool, rock climbing, ski lifts, a variety of restaurants, and they also have a ski lift that goes to the top of the mountain that has a restaurant. The only con I would say in my opinion is that the hotel can become quite boring because it's has a limited amount of activities to do. I would highly recommend to visit other activities to do in Utah. The rooms are very spacious and the rooms have a refrigerators, coffee machines, and the staff even brought up a microwave to are room. It was just all around great customer service. read more

Ehh nothing special. The Airie restaurant used to be good but it's very clear the chef has changed. Not worth the price anymore. The rooms are no nicer than a basic hotel. I chose The Cliff Lodge specifically because it's marketed as a premier ski-in/ski-out resort for serious athletes, and I assumed the on-site fitness facilities would match that standard. I even booked a room on the 9th-floor Spa Level so I'd have convenient access to what's advertised as the "premium" gym. I woke up at 5:30 a.m. ready for my normal pre-ski workout, only to find the Spa Level gym doesn't open until 8:00 a.m. For anyone who takes training seriously, that's essentially useless. I dragged myself downstairs to the alternative gym, which is tiny--basically a hotel "fitness room" with rows of cardio equipment and almost no free weights or functional training space. For a resort that charges luxury rates and positions itself as the home base for high-performance skiing, this was shockingly inadequate. If you're a serious athlete or even someone who just wants a legitimate morning lift before hitting the mountain, be prepared for major disappointment. Snowbird/Cliff Lodge really needs to step up its gym game or at least be upfront that early-morning training isn't an option here. Stayed for a week in a kitchen condo. Had a great deal of luggage and groceries. Valet was very helpful and delivered out stuff to the room shortly after check-in. Check-in was efficient and staff was pleasant and helpful. The facilities, which are to numerous to mention but which can be found on line, were superbly maintained. The room was well stocked, clean and comfortable. The kitchen room has a Jacuzzi on the balcony and a fold out bed. The bedroom suites have a king and a fold out but no kitchen or Jacuzzi. There are several dining choices. And the outdoor activities vary by season. This was a summer stay so a lot of time was spent at the pool and spa. read more

My husband and I spent one night at Snowbird as part of our honeymoon - we came for Oktoberfest and did a package at the Cliff Lodge Apartments, mainly to have the hot tub on our balcony. Completely my own error, I reserved a studio that did not include a bedroom, and we had to choose between a sofa bed and hot tub, or no hot tub and an actual bed. We kept the hot tub room, and I'm not sure it was worth it because the hot tub destroyed my skin with a pretty severe case of dryness that I have never experienced from a hot tub before. Our room was definitely dated and did not include air conditioning (heat or ac), but we didn't really need it due to the almost perfect weather. The views were unbelievable! We didn't need a kitchen, but it seemed to be well-appointed. The bathroom was also very dated with a slow-draining tub. The sofa bed wasn't bad for a nap, BUT a whole night sleeping on it was AWFUL. It was so hard and I. Have a shoulder injury it aggravated pretty badly. Additionally, our hall was pretty noisy all night (room doors have a high door sill/threshold between floor and bottom of the door), despite 'quiet hours.' Housekeeping also came and knocked on our door at 8:45 and 9:45 am when checkout wasn't until 11! Just WOW to that. We're on our honeymoon and they interrupted 'honeymoon time' and that's after we had told them we wouldn't be out until 11. Called to let the front desk know and they weren't particularly helpful - they need to work on policy/communication here. Told front desk at checkout and hopefully they'll resolved that for future guests, because that is not fun or ok. Overall review of the room - the sofa studio is NOT worth the cost/amenities. Just get a normal room. The family pool/hot tubs were constantly busy so if you no like to socialize and visit the pool, this would be a great place for you. The grounds are obviously beautiful and there are tons of outdoor activities to enjoy. We did visit Oktoberfest (awesome), the spa (ok), and Aerie (eh) - all of which I'll leave separate reviews for. Overall, for a honeymoon experience, this was fun and different! Not sure the overall value was there for the cost/amenities/comfort... but glad we did it! read more

I have never encountered such appalling treatment in the hospitality industry. My colleague and I arrived at The Cliff Lodge for a cardiovascular conference, expecting a smooth and professional experience. Instead, we were met with deception, disrespect, and outright humiliation. Upon check-in, the front desk employee, Rachel, casually asked if we would be fine staying on the spa floor. Not being particularly picky, I said we had no issue with it. She then handed us the usual paperwork to sign, and we proceeded with check-in--nothing was mentioned about any additional charges or "upgrades." However, before checkout, we were blindsided with the shocking news that we had been "upgraded" and would now be charged for it. This was the first time we were even hearing about an upgrade. I immediately explained that we never requested or agreed to any upgrade. In fact, being placed on a spa floor with extra foot traffic hardly felt like an upgrade--it was more of a downgrade. I requested to speak with a manager, only to have my concerns dismissed outright. They refused to listen, and at one point, they even hung up the phone on me--an unthinkable level of unprofessionalism. The next morning, I received a call from the manager, Carolina, who took things from bad to worse. Instead of addressing the clear mistake, she outright accused us of lying and verbally abusing her staff. She condescendingly stated that she would trust her employees over us and insisted that they could not possibly have made an error. I was in complete disbelief--never in my years of traveling have I been treated with such disrespect. To prove our innocence, I even suggested that she check the security cameras, which would have clearly shown that we never requested an upgrade and that we never acted inappropriately toward her staff. She refused to even consider it. It was clear she had no interest in the truth--only in defending her employees, no matter how unfairly we were being treated. For the record, we never once used inappropriate language toward any employee, we never requested an upgrade, and we were never informed of any extra charge at check-in. Yet, we were not only forced to pay for something we didn't ask for, but we were also insulted and disrespected in the process. This was, without a doubt, the most unprofessional and humiliating experience I've ever had at a hotel. I would strongly caution anyone considering a stay at The Cliff Lodge--if this is how they treat their guests, I can only imagine how little they value integrity and customer service. Nice big hotel in Snowbird. Comfortable rooms with ski in/out access. Set own code for ski lockers. A lot of public space with seating and fantastic view of the slopes. Several restaurants. Full American breakfast is wonderful with lots of hot dishes and custom made eggs. The heated outdoor pool is amazing - nothing like being able to swim in a warm outdoor pool in a blizzard. 3 hot tubs around the pool so it never gets too crowded. There is also a spa on the top floor with more exclusive pool and hot tub - extra charge for spa access ($37 for the day). read more

Highly recommend visiting The Cliff Lodge and Spa. I will definitely be back. Nestled in the mountains in Snowbird, this hotel and spa has easy access to the ski lift, food and shopping. I wanted to book a massage but couldn't find a good time. I did book a foot massage and therefore the day pass fee of 55$ is waved. The foot massage was wonderful and the spa includes a locker room, eucalyptus steam room, sauna and best of all, a heated rooftop pool and hot tub with incredible views. I will be booking a room next time! Loved this location and amenities!! read more

This is specific to the spa. I went on a weekend with a friend who had been before and she said it was more crowded than she'd ever seen it. The said they were short on towels so we shouldn't take more than two. I wouldn't say it was worth the $50 per person. We could barely find a lounge chair and there weren't any in the shade, so it got hot! The pool was pretty warm too, so not very refreshing. It is very scenic, so maybe give it a try during the week. read more

Pedicure missing a lot. Cuticles, massage, pumas and filing skills seemed straight outta beauty school. I speak as an experienced former manicurist. We spent six nights at The Cliff. Aside from its great location for easy access to the slopes we had several concerns during our stay. First, most of the staff are not friendly. From check-in to spa to son phone experiences to ask questions. The bell hops were good but the one who brought our bags to the room knew nothing about the hotel like where the ice machines or washing machines are located. We tried to order room service. No one answers the phone and trying to do it online did not allow you to order what you wanted. For example you could only get a banana if you bought the whole cereal package for like 18 dollars. I asked the reception to have the manager reach out to me to discuss. I was told the message would be relayed. I never got a call. We gave up on it. The breakfast buffet hostess was practically non-verbal and never a smile, good morning, etc.The mattresses were memory foam and comfortable enough but the sheets were way undersized for the depth of the mattress. Every morning we would wake up with the corners popped loose and pillow on a bare mattress. The sheet was also ripped at the corner from being mis-sized for the mattress and every time we tried to pull back around the corner of the mattress it ripped more. It stay that way throughout our stay. For the price we paid you would expect to have friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive helpful staff. A positive and pleasant staff culture there does not exist. And for the money paid you would think they would buy bed linens that fit the bed! read more

Still my favorite spa for a relaxing day up in the mountains. The views cannot be beat and I love the vibes of the waiting areas, rooftop pool, and locker room amenities. The staff is friendly and informative and makes you feel right at home. Reservations are required and they hand you a robe and sandals when you check in. You can secure your things in lockers, enjoy the sauna or showers, and primp and take time getting ready after your spa services at their little vanities. I've gotten massages, scrubs, and pedicures here and they've all been great. Complimentary tea and water. Have wanted to try the yoga classes (included with the day pass) but haven't had a chance. There are always a lot of day pass people just enjoying the pool and there for the bikini scene, but the day pass price has increased so maybe it'll reduce that a little bit - sometimes it can get a bit crowded. If you purchase a minimum spa service the day pass is included. I've done many girls' trips and celebrations up here, some overnight, and it's such a fun experience. read more

Summer review! Amazing views from every part of the resort! Concierge Justin was just amazing; best in the business! Guidance on hikes was fabulous, as was his general demeanor and enthusiam for his job and making guests' stay fabulous! Valets were super helpful and friendly as were staff over at the Snowbird Center (I was there during Oktoberfest). Rebecca was absolutely amazing and made my whole 2nd hike beyond expectations! Rooms are large and comfortable. Love the added humidifer, Dream machine, fridge. Good USB plugins everywhere. Easy to understand remote. 2 big complaints were front desk staff...woman that checked me in (straight hair, plaid shirt and glasses) made me feel immediately unwelcome and condescended to me when I commented on the high per day deposit. She told me she thought it was rather low basically illustrating she had zero interest in my feedback and I should not provide it. Desk staff gentleman at checkout Thurs AM was really lovely however! Other issue was choices of vegan food options...virtually zero except a stack of fruit, vegetables, potatoes and pasta. We attended for a conference and zero vegan protein, WAY too many pork products (the WORST for human health, planet and incredibly inhumane to raise and slaughter pigs)... The Cliff Lodge's sustainability lead says they have a huge sustainability plan but clearly she has not looked at what food they serve. Try Beyond "meats" as a second option like other fine resorts do. It's great for people and the planet! Restaurants in the Cliff Lodge around Snowbird resort serve maybe 1 vegetarian option (no protein though) and anything vegan is a salad or again, dressed up vegetables. Decaf coffee pretty bad as well. And only serve almond milk, the worst non-dairy for the planet. Get your chef to some good vegan gourmet cooking training and tell your front desk to actually WELCOME guests when they arrive after a long travel day...not make them feel badly for providing feedback. I would go back to ski but unless they really reworked their food choices and front desk staff, I would opt out for another resort. read more

Note: My review is only for the spa and its facilities at The Cliff Lodge. I had a few hours to spend before my flight back to SF and heard great things about this spa! $35 gets you a day pass to the spa and access to its related amenities (though it's cheaper if you're staying at the resort or a Utah resident). You get slippers and a robe upon arriving. The locker room has a free locker and there are a handful of spacious showers with toiletries and even razors if you need them. There's a lounging area, where you can read and overlook the resort, as well as a steam room. Upstairs is the yoga studio, the fitness room with lots of equipment, and the pool/hot tub. You can check online to see what yoga and fitness classes are being offered throughout the week (and they're complementary!). If I ever return, I'll be sure to book a massage or treatment! read more

The SpA, supposed to have access if your a member, but they are always out of reservations..... but if you pay for a yoga class or the non member day pass rate, amazingly there is space. So the benefit you bought into years ago, not just a money grab for the resort. Let's say you bring your family but one person does not ski.... Nothing to do. Can't use the spa no reservations and well the outdoor things that used to be at snowbird ie: snowmobiling, gone. Well enjoy your $30 two eggs and sliced apple. Such a great spa! And there's no wine in the spa. Including bubbles My mom and I came to the Lodge and got treatments as a surprise treat. Both of us loved the treatments. We both got a facial and a pedicure. My girl was chewing gum the entire time she did my pedicure, but she was friendly, so he smacking of the gum was a little subdued. My one criticism would be the gum. But it's not worth loosing a star. Anyway, the facial was great. My favorite part was the jacuzzi overlooking the mountains. And the eucalyptus steam room was excellent! If I'm ever at Snowbird again, this will be my first, and second, and everything after stop. The 4 stars are for not having wine/bubbly in the spa, and the gum... If you want a nice glass of bubbly with your massage, don't count on it here. There's nowhere in the lodge that can get you that. Attended the 5 pm Universal yoga at The Spa after a long winter hike today. Our instructor was a perfect guide to this new practice. This practice paired perfectly for sore and tight muscles. Slow and purposeful poses to work out the tension. A beautiful studio with stunning mountain view. We appreciated the ability to use all the spa accommodations with our spa pass. Highly recommend for anyone who is not staying at Snowbird but nearby being active and seeking a beautiful way to wind down with yoga, steam room, and soak. Keep in mind there's two Cliff Lodges here. The Timeshare that also rents out as hotel rooms. They are the rooms with the balconies. There's also Kitchen units. The other 2/3rds are standard hotel rooms. The hotel has been going through renovation, as well as the timeshares. The changes have been sorely needed. The timeshare side and the regular hotel are separate entities and maintain the facilities separately. Keep that in mind. That said, they are pretty much in sync quality wise, but they are very different. We've stayed here as a regular guest and as a timeshare owner. My company also held a business conference here in the new conference rooms that went really well. My time staying here has always been in the summer and fall. We've skied here a lot in the Winter, but don't have the scratch for the tariff that time of year. When we purchased the timeshare 20ish years ago, we traded out. We were always disappointed. When we stayed here, we loved it. This is a place for perfect relaxation. The best thing for us as a timeshare owner is we get so many of the hotel amenities. There's the spa access. The fantastic atrium area. The restaurants in the building and room service. Find another timeshare with all that! I'm writing this while staying here. The view can't be beat. We've put some so salt roasted peanuts in the shell out on the table on the patio. This attracts the stellar jays. They are fun to watch. Oh Cliff Spa...How we adore you! While I have not had a service at Cliff Spa, we have come in for their yoga classes and day use of the spa amenities. This is our first stop when we have out of town guests in the winter. Once you get inside, you are given a robe, slippers, towels, and complimentary tea is located at various places throughout the spa. We really love their indoor eucalyptus sauna and right outside of it they have some great loungers where you can watch the skiers/snowboarders coming down the mountain. The highlight of Cliff is their outdoor area! You cannot beat the view of Snowbird from their outdoor pool and spa and coming in the snow is an absolute winter wonderland. We always leave feeling refreshed, pampered, and so relaxed! Must do! read more

Staying at Snowbird? The spa is a MUST!!! $25/day gets you in to this peaceful spa, which comes with a dry sauna, eucalyptus steam room (wowzas), a gym, and a pool/hot tub. The cool thing is, you can book a service, and you no longer have to pay the $25 entry fee. My husband got the "foot relief", which was only $35 (so +10 over the regular base entry fee), which he thoroughly enjoyed after 3 days of skiing. I opted for the "Mountain Healing massage", with Joe, and it was amazing. He was one of their senior massage therapists, and he did a fantastic job. We loved the hot tub. There is nothing like being in a hot tub, surrounded by mountains, while it is snowing! Unbelievable! My spa day was almost as good as my ski days! They also have nice locker rooms, with showers and women amenities, and a sitting room area, which is very quiet, where you can read, nap, relax while overlooking the mountain. My only complaint is that you cannot order food to the spa. This made us go out of our way to put on clothes, walk to a restaurant, and wait to eat. Also, they do provide tea and water, but wine would be nice :) If you are at Snowbird and even considering the Spa, let me tell you, you MUST go. You will not be sorry! The pool/hot tub on the 3rd level is way overcrowded and not half as nice. I'm a big fan of the Snowbird Spa!! read more

This review is about the spa. I paid $270 for a 90 minute massage. The masseuse was OK - she seemed to spend a disproportionate amount of time on my back on the right side. Then, when she massaged my legs and completely ignored my feet (the best part IMHO) I asked her if she was planning on giving my feet some attention she said 'oh, yes I will make sure to get to your feet'. Well, that consisted of a hot cloth placed over each foot with a couple of cursory 'squeezes'. I think she was not into massaging feet - and mine are not gross either. Sorry, if you are a masseuse you should be OK with foot massage. Disappointed with this massage for how much I paid. read more

My friend selected the Cliff Lodge as her hotel option for her wedding. I arrived super early in the morning, but the hotel found me a room that was ready. I was able to check in very quickly. The lobby is beautiful, and I found myself sitting in the lobby a few times and watching the world go by. The room was really nice. The only thing that needed some adjustment was the door. It stuck opening and closing. The beds were super comfy. Overall, it was a great stay. read more

Rooms are nice. The lodge feels like a Swiss alps lodge, more so than any other North American ski lodge I've visited. Everyone is professional. The lodge is wonderfully spacious with leather sofas and easy chairs next to brilliantly large windows showing the mountains and snow covered trees. The nine story atrium has a window wall that drives home that your in the snow mountains. It's Heavenly! Oh, that's that other ski area... My husband and I celebrated our 4th anniversary here with a couples massage and couldn't recommend more!

The room we stayed in had an AC unit that wouldn't work. It would turn on for a second and then shut off. It wasn't until after a power outage in the morning that the AC started working correctly. It was just very difficult to sleep during the night because of how hot it was. When we brought this up with the front desk they told us it was our fault for moving the thermostat down and not calling them at 2 am. We should have only moved it down a little instead of 5+ degrees. This is unacceptable. As much as I love Snowbird and I enjoy the Spa, I won't be coming back to the Cliff Lodge. read more

I was very disappointed with the spa at the cliff lounge, my friends and I were told there was a pool for adults only at the spa, so we went to the spa. When we asked the woman behind the desk how we could get access she said "it's a part of a special package." I was kind, thanked her and walked away. well it turns out, that wasn't exactly true. We would have had to pay $25 dollars a person to get in but there isn't a special "package" to use the spa area. I was lied to, and it feels like I was lied to because my friends and I were judged harshly by the woman behind the counter. She judged us with out knowing a thing. She could have just said that it costs extra and we would have been just as kind. But no, she made it perfectly clear we weren't allowed nor wanted in "her" spa. Thanks Cliff, you're employees are real professional and kind. Makes me really want to spend this much on a room again. Others should be aware that food service ends at 10 PM with no room service after that time either. So if you want food any time after 10 then you'll "have to drive down the mountain" that's not a big deal though. just buy snacks at the gift shop and you'll be good. read more

Most of the staff I've encountered here are less than pleasant or helpful and seem very arrogant. I have been here several times and it seems like this trait in personnel is increasing. Pretty disappointing to say the least.. They are currently undergoing construction. The corner metal beading on the wall in our room was sticking straight out. My kids kept tripping over it. We told staff of our concern so they could trim it down, but it never got fixed. I guess the fact that my kids are cutting themselves on it isn't a concern to them? When I checked into The Cliff Lodge, I got a room that only had a sofa pullout bed. I spent over $3000 and they gave me a sofa bed. When I was booking the room over the phone I was promised a hot tub, kitchen, ski in ski out room and no mention of not having a proper bed to sleep in. When I contacted the reception, I was forced to pay additional $75 per night for a normal room on the 9th floor. I booked an upgrade to have a hot tub and a kitchen, I had to further upgrade to get a bed without a hot tub or a kitchen. Be careful very sneaky tactics The Cliff Lodge has. If you're making a trip to Utah it's best to avoid Snowbird resort as whole. There are better places in Utah that will give you a better time for a lot less. I stayed at the cliff lodge hotel and got a pass to the spa. Spa staff were super friendly and nice. Spa is very clean and well maintained. I enjoyed their sauna and eucalyptus steam room. They also have very comfy and nice solarium area. Their showers have super nice shampoo and body wash with the most addictive sweet eucalyptus scent.
