Its remarkable children's curriculum has brought our daughter through over a decade of wonderful training, and helped to provide so many different positives on various aspects of her development as a human being, at an age when she needs self-confidence, and turning that to both empathy and helping others learn has it just top shelf in my wife's and my opinion. Do yourself a favor and give it a shot, regardless of your age, or your experience, or your physical training/or lack thereof, like myself. I started and joined in with my daughter in my mid-50's a little over a year ago, and I've found so many things to make me glad I did, and didn't just dismiss my age as a given for decline. I'm boxing, as well as doing other martial arts training and loving every minute of it. See ya there! Jason S.

I was injured in Glenn's class by a mistake of another student, Glenn had plenty of private and in class sessions with me, where I trained with him directly and with another instructor. During my experience with Glenn after injury, he searched my property and belongings while I was training, he insulted me, and he overcharged me for products. Not only did Glenn break the law, he also changed his narrative when I inquired about insurance for the injury I endured. Glenn initially encouraged my training and complimented me, he met my family and grandfather who saw us training together, as soon as I inquired about other insurance information/injury liability issues, Glenn decided to call me mental. My parents found out about this and encouraged me to sue him. Glenn also agreed to forward information to the founders of Systema that I had preorganized as a courtesy to them. He lied and kept it for himself. Glenn also searched through my phone while asking me to face the wall and do an exercise, I turned around and caught him browsing my phone. Our family invited Systema in our home, my doctors encouraged my training for recovery with my ACL tear, and in the end Glenn cowered with insults and discrimination. https://easternnc.app.bbb.org/complaint/view/11147125/c/h99t9c Glenn will not succeed in holding his faulty business, or in censoring individuals he has directly wronged. 0/5 stars, needs to be banned.

They are super, super nice people... but it's just not quite there. I've been to a bunch of better and worse Muay Thai gyms, and this place falls somewhere in the bottom. 1. Quality. This is really the biggest issue; nobody there is really qualified to teach Muay Thai. One of the trainers is a (lovely!) kid of 17 or 18 who just does not have enough experience, and the other is an older man who just has no muay thai skills. I never did see any of the trainers listed on their website teach anything. I know this is the East Coast and not the most metropolitan area, but even basics are not really there. There are no drills and pretty much no technical work. Lots of long combinations that don't always make sense, and not strenuous enough to count as a workout. Even worse, what's going on is frequently quite unsafe. There is a lot of training without proper gear (shin guards, hand wraps etc) and way too much hard sparing for people's level of ability. We all get it, it's martial arts, but what it should not be is people walking out of there with bruises everywhere because they've been whaling on each other or doing kicks without pads. 2. Rates. These are pretty high for what you get, and come with a 2x a week maximum. Once you're there you can take more than one class, but it still sucks that you basically have to pack all workouts into two days rather than being able to come when you want to. So you basically need another gym to work out at. 3. Scheduling and space. The classes are all at 6 and 7pm, which, for someone who works, is just really tough. Which means that unless you're actively in a class, as above, you need another gym. 4. Facilities. This might be a personal gripe, but it stops it from being a 'real' gym in my eyes - there are no showers. This means that there is no way to go work out, and then do anything else outside of go home and shower. Also... this is picky, but their heavy bags are not filled correctly and thus provide very little resistance and are too soft, and I remember someone saying about one of the bags that it had 'something hard inside' which, again, is quite unsafe, and kind of makes me wonder if they even know what it's filled with...? So... in summary. I can't really recommend it. It just doesn't feel like a safe space that's conducive to either learning or working out.

I've been taking Paul Sobin's Continuing Basics series for about 6 months, and this review is…read morepurely about this series. I'm very new to yoga. There are free classes at my school, but I feel like you need a certain level of understanding of the poses before going to those classes. I'm the kind of person that would feel VERY uncomfortable mimicking the poses in class without learning the ABCs first, just for the sake of feeling sore afterwards. I'm also uncomfortable when the teachers talk way too much about their spiritual journey. I respect other people's spirituality, but when it's hovering over the ENTIRE CLASS, it can be very distracting. Paul Sobin solves both of my problem. In the class we would move from pose to pose, but he'd always mention the mistakes easily made. So when I'm doing the pose, even when he's not nearby to correct me, I could still keep in mind what to avoid. He offers a sweet mix of the physical and spiritual practice. For example when we start the slow breathing at the beginning of class, he'd mention how life is always busy and stressful, and it's good to take just a couple minutes to breathe slow and deep to give yourself a bit peace of mind. I really appreciate this. The series are pretty flexible - if you can't make it to the class you signed up for, you can do a make-up with any other series class Paul/ Sommer teach. Whatever leftover classes you haven't used in this series can be carried over to the next one. Students get a discount, which comes to $10 per class. This is quite an investment compared to the free gym, but I'd be happy to skip a weekend drink for this. People seem very nice, chill, and friendly as well. They also offer a week of classes free before the start of the series. The only con I can think of so far: The class can be crowded, to the point that the distance between you and the next mat is half a mat's width. Come 10 mins early to secure a good spot.
