I've been coming to the Coffee Company since it opened in the late 1990s. A top favourite spot of anywhere I've been in the world, not just Elizabethton. The workers have always been pleasant and efficient (and I quite prefer the new owners, as Mrs. Bunn was rude to me). Perfect coffee every time I order it. The chicken salad croissant and the Greek pasta salad have always been excellent. The roast beef panini with its "dill shallot spread" was SCRUMPTIOUS. I wish yelp would let you do partial stars because The Coffee Company is not a 4* but not quite a 5* more like a 4 1/2 * . I have got 4 coffees in 2 days all different one and all were really good a solid 4 1/2* drinks . Staff have all been super amazing , friendly , helpful and treat you like family 5* Food is a 4 - 4 1/4 * although good it is lacking a little bit for the cost . Have been here for coffee several times and it's always good. Brewed fresh and I enjoy their specialty/seasonal drinks selection. However, the last time we went in for food left a lot to be desired. We waited awhile for the server to come take our drink order, and then it took awhile for her to come back for our food order. I had an alteration request for my sandwich (no tomatoes), my dining partner did not. Food took about 25 minutes to come out, which seems like a lot for two sandwiches. When they arrived, there were tomatoes on my sandwich, and an alteration had been made to my dining partner's sandwich that she didn't ask for. We would have mentioned this to our server except she disappeared and never came back until it was time for the check. The tomatoes altered the taste of my sandwich enough that I really didn't enjoy it and only ate about half. We mentioned it to our server and she offered to have it remade but we'd already been there over an hour at that point and had an appointment to go to. Go there for coffee? Definitely. service, lack of. 4 pm. 2 girls were. playing on their phones , crawling around on the floor laughing loud. no concerns to the customer waiting at the counter finally one got up and said you need something? i mention i would like a coffee for here, while her and the other girl. were still laughing and yelling at something on their phones. i asked several times. what are the pastries. no response. gave up paid for the coffee and walked out.they yelling and jumping up and down was touch to try and study. there. probably wont return. where is the management ? read more

A year ago this place was awesome, but todays experience was awful. I ordered a breakfast plate of scrambled eggs, toast, bacon. The bacon was perfect, cooked to my order. Toast was OK, but the eggs were terrible. How do you screw up scrambled eggs? Really? Took quite a bit of time to get the order, but the server was very pleasant. (My only complaint is that I wished they stayed opened later on Fridays and Saturdays for special events like tree lightings or movies at the Bonnie Kate! Remember there is parking in the back as the street side parking fills up fast. This is a really cool small town coffee shop. They have a ton of merchandise and honey and coffees to choose from. It's been 12 hours and I'm still thinking about the cinnamon roll I had for breakfast it was so delicious. And the staff was super Duper helpful from start to finish. read more

We arrived around lunch. No clean tables. We chose the cleanest thinking the waitress would clean it up. Instead she threw my menu in it. Ask for our drinks & away she went. I really don't know where they get their l waitstaff cause they are NEVER friendly.. I could tell we were a burden to her. It took her a bit to come back again, gave us our waters we ordered. She rudely took our ordered like she had somewhere to go or something to do. I literally always get the same thing when I go. I get the French dip & a "side" of their pasta salad, I always add Mayo, Lettuce My Daughter Chose a seasonal Turkey sandwich with caramelized onion & Goat cheese & a little sauce cup of potato salad. Took a little bit to get our food. Never got a refill on drinks. Waitress didn't wanna be there., My sandwich for 14.50 had hardly anything on my sandwich. You can see the very little roast beef. I can go to Jersey Mikes and get a giant sub with Turkey, Roast Beef, Bacon, provolone and ALL the veggies I want. And their meat & cheeses cut fresh and make 3/4 meals of it!! My daughter's sandwich was ok. The goat cheese she thought they had left it of but it was just so a small amount she couldn't even taste it!! This is my last time at coffee company!! I'll no longer come back. 3 strikes and I'm out!! If you have a good appetite your chances of getting full on their portions is thin... I'm sure there's others that feel the way. This update is specific to their breakfast. The menu is rather limited, and they were out of quite a few things anyway. They only had two bagels left, and this was 9:30 on a Saturday morning. We tried the sausage egg and cheese bagel, a bacon egg and cheese biscuit, and a plain bagel with cream cheese. All were very ordinary. I'm leaving the rating as four stars, as the server was very open about them having a limited breakfast menu. The food came out in a reasonable time, and was cooked as requested. Maybe they focus more on the lunch menu. For now, I'm sticking with only their coffee, as I have had many good experiences, and they really do take pride in making sure you get what you want. read more

Very yummy food and great tasting coffee. Everyone is friendly and professional but also laid back enough that you can really enjoy the environment. Cute space with plenty of seating! Only complaint: I applied and was asked to TWO interviews. After calling to follow-up, I was completely ghosted. I'm not upset that I did not get the job, but it does say a lot about a company to ghost potential employees. I did not expect that of them seeing as they are a small business and everyone there was very personable. All that being said, it's a great local cafe that I recommend you try! read more

We have been here several times because my wife likes their Chai. She said it is a powder form but it has a flavor she really likes. I think all Chai tastes like flowers with cinnamon and it that is my take from the ones she insists I try here. I am a standard coffee person, meaning that I will drink convenience store coffee and not have a problem with it. I am not overly impressed with coffees here but what I have tried has gotten the job done. We have tried a few food items here and one of our favorite was the cinnamon roll. The problem that I have with this place is the speed of service for the drinks. They are always unbelievably slow making drinks and there is always 3 of them back there. This time took us 33 minutes after we ordered to get 1 drink. I know that there were drinks ahead of us but we actually saw 2 tables get food, eat what they ordered, and get their drink order after finishing or almost finishing. I don't expect drive thru speed but a little more effort would be nice. read more

So refreshing to see stellar small companies thriving. Popped in after spending time with family for a much needed pick me up. Lots of good fresh baked goods, delicious cheesecake that could compare with some of the finest from NY, and the espresso is perfect. Extra bonus of offering oat milk. Although these things are so fabulous and what you expect from your local favorite coffee shop, this is actually not why I am giving the 5 star review. (Even though offering oat milk is a massive plus and definitely gives the extra stars.) A homeless woman walked in. Instead what I typically see, where the staff ignores the person and eventually requests they leave the premises. They asked for her order and was working with her to obtain her drinks. this place has a lot of potential to be excellent. it's still probably the best business in Elizabethton.. that said, I think, adding a few couches and later hours would really elevate this place! it could easily become a Haven for the community and a wonderful place to hang out and gather.... read a book, play some chess.... but currently it's just very stagnant in there. The employees could be way more friendlier.... there's a lot of warmth that could be added by just a few touches. I go here about once a week, and then I traveled to Johnson City for the rest of my coffee shops, but I would easily love to spend every day here if they would make it feel a little bit more comfortable and homey. The coffee company is in a great location in downtown Elizabethton. They have so many cool souvenirs or gifts to look at and you can buy bigger bags of coffee. I chose to try a tropical latte and loved it. We didn't eat food while we were there but it looked great so I definitely will. read more
