Local coffee shops are hard to find in this day in age with the proliferation of Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. The coffee Factory has been a site for a weary caffine addict in search of an office away from home. The staff here has been incredibly friendly every time I have been (typically once or twice a week). There is always local artists on display and fun music playing. It really has a cozy atmosphere with big leather couches and chairs. For the quick stop ins there are the hard wood tables for anyone to pop in. They also roast their own coffee in the giant roaster in house... none of that burnt Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts crap. There are 1 star reviews for this place that seem vindictive at best. The staff have NEVER been rude in the slightest. Please if you want a cool place to do your home office work I really suggest here a it is quiet enough you can do a conference call and cozy enough that you are never uncomfortable. This place wants to be hip but I just don't get it. The decor and layout is odd. The space is too big for the sparse furniture they have. It's not cozy. I'm not a fan of the art on the walls - I understand local artists are selling their work but the presentation is messy. Their coffee is good and their prices are decent - slightly cheaper than Starbucks. Smoothies are delicious as well. The service was a bit slow when they first opened but they have improved. I can tell they are passionate about their items but I never feel welcomed when I'm there. The employees always look stressed and somber. They are not conversational or friendly. A smile would be nice. The last time I visited there was debris at the entrance which was not inviting at all. Someone should sweep from time to time. Oh and they offer wifi which is pretty fast. I'm so glad I found this gem. Locally roasted organic beans and fresh juice. Great way to start my day! They use a masticating juicer, which means great green juice. Such a cute place. They have all antique kind of furniture and board games that you can play. Their caramel coffee was amazing. I didn't have to put in any sugar or sweeteners. I'm a coffee snob. I like espresso drinks and I can be particular. I'm skeptical about new coffee places even if they're just new to me. My two main gripes are always that either the coffee drinks are too small for the price and that the service isn't great or that the people working don't really know what they're doing. This place passed my tests no question. I got a giant iced latte for a fair price. The guy serving me (I think he was possibly the owner but just a guess) was fast, friendly, attentive and made a good coffee. The food was good too. Try the Texas BLT. Just ok. I've gotten coffee there (both regular and expresso), wasnt bad but wasnt a standout...cost is along the lines of Starbucks. Have had muffins/pastries, which were good. Today I tried a chicken ceasar wrap and was disappointed... there wasnt much 'ceasar' about it...not sure if it was supposed to have ceasar dressing on it (mine did not) or if the caesar was supposed to be the marinade of the chicken (didnt seem it, very bland but at least not dry). All other places I've gotten a ceasar wrap from have had chicken, lettuce, cheese, croutons and caesar dressing...this one just had chicken, tomato and lettuce, not very flavorful. Excellente! This word sums up my experience of coffee factory. I rolled into the parkinglot at 8:30am on Monday. Today I would be endeavoring on creative business ventures, but the cog wheels of my engine just werent spinning at the optimum RPMs to get started productively! I bumbled into the cafe. The warm morning sunlight filled the entryway. I dont drink cofe alot, but when I do I drink quality cofe... I had one americano 12 oz and by 9:45am my gears were spinnin', and I did not have the jitters as sub-par cofe will give me. I have been here a number of times. The lattes are very bitter. The owners wife is rude, never smiles. One day I was waiting in line and she was playing on her phone and totally ignoring me and ppl in line. I have been in the customer service industry and that is #1 - never leave customers waiting unless absolutely necessary and greet them. She ignored me and even walked from one end of the counter to the other and never said "Hello" or "Good Morning" to me or others in line or walk ins. You wonder why the employees don't have good customer skills they sure have a great role model.If u can't service with a smile then get out of the industry. If you don't have the where-with-all to put customers first especially during busy periods then leave the industry or take a course on Customer Service. We intended to stay 30 minutes and stayed all night. The musicians were that good. They also have other nighttime events. I work in the area so I go in here all the time for coffee. Don't get me wrong, the coffee is great but the service is absolutely awful. They have made mistakes on my orders the past three times I've gone there. The last time I went in, I had a bag of food from another business. The man behind the counter told me that I wouldn't be able to sit in their restaurant if I had outside food, which is understandable, but this wasn't the first time I had done this and no one had mentioned this fact to me before. He then went on to tell me that he could get fired if the owners 'catch someone eating in the restaurant.' On top of that, the person who messed up my order was the OWNER of the place. She did not pay attention to me when I ordered, she did not confirm my order, and she brought me the wrong food. They are NOT geared towards customer service. I don't care how good your coffee is, if you don't treat me well and I'm giving you my money, I'm not going to be happy. I was ready to pay the ridiculous $3.50 for a coffee that I usually get (the coffee IS worth the price, don't get me wrong), but after the rude remarks from the guy behind the counter about how he could lose his job and the continuously bad service from the owner, I'm never going back there, and honestly, I don't think anyone else should either.
