The coffee here is so good that I will wait until they open at 7 am instead of going to the other shop. Friday nights are packed. There is an open mic night. We intended to stay 30 minutes and stayed all night. The musicians were that good. They also have other nighttime events. I work in the area so I go in here all the time for coffee. Don't get me wrong, the coffee is great but the service is absolutely awful. They have made mistakes on my orders the past three times I've gone there. The last time I went in, I had a bag of food from another business. The man behind the counter told me that I wouldn't be able to sit in their restaurant if I had outside food, which is understandable, but this wasn't the first time I had done this and no one had mentioned this fact to me before. He then went on to tell me that he could get fired if the owners 'catch someone eating in the restaurant.' On top of that, the person who messed up my order was the OWNER of the place. She did not pay attention to me when I ordered, she did not confirm my order, and she brought me the wrong food. They are NOT geared towards customer service. I don't care how good your coffee is, if you don't treat me well and I'm giving you my money, I'm not going to be happy. I was ready to pay the ridiculous $3.50 for a coffee that I usually get (the coffee IS worth the price, don't get me wrong), but after the rude remarks from the guy behind the counter about how he could lose his job and the continuously bad service from the owner, I'm never going back there, and honestly, I don't think anyone else should either. They don't deserve business if they aren't going to treat their customers in a satisfactory manner. read more

I'd love to give this place a good review since Derry has been needing a decent cofee house for some time -- but aside from the new furniture and "better-than-DD" coffee, it falls short.. I stopped in for a mid-morning shopping break with my son, and he had a juice and blueberry muffin while I sipped a latte and nibbled a lemon tart. The pastries were not fresh by any means (they are in fact not baked there, but trucked in), and the nail tapping counter lady was just short of rude while my son made his selection (we were the only customers in the joint).. We sat at a table by the large window overlooking the Hood Commons parking lot, but my son was more entertained by the ants in the corner fighting over some overlooked crumbs. Next time I'll drive to Londonderry for a good cup of coffee. read more

I tried this place for the first time today while out Christmas shopping. The coffee was very good and I loved that it wasn't scalding so I could drink it right away. They have some nice chairs and tables- a little bit more coziness maybe would help but I was just grabbing a quick drink so for me it was excellent! I will definitely visit again read more

Atmosphere is nice. I ordered a peppermint mocha and a bagel toasted with veggie cream cheese. The coffee was ok... Nothing special like a peppermint mocha should be. Very disappointed with the bagel. It was served to me with a layer as thin as butter on one side and nothing on the other. The veggie cream cheese had two specks of red pepper and the rest was just cheese. Pretty bad when a coffee house can't even get a bagel right. This is my second bad experience with food here. The only benefit is that this is the only coffee house in Derry. However, Dunkin donuts will win my vote from here on. read more

Despite the not so great reviews about the service here, I went anyway. I ordered a latte, and it was good..but the service was poor. I was not automatically greeted when I came in, and it was not busy.. so there was no reason for that. Eventually a young kid came to the counter and took my order, though it seemed hanging out with his friends was more important. I will not be coming back here. read more

Cons: The coffee is not good here. ....Im going to rephrase that. If you have experienced a fair share of travel and frequented independent cafes abroad then you will not be satisfied with this coffee. Your chain cafes will beat this out every time. The lattes Ive had here have tasted burnt and bitter. There is a proper way to make a latte. I personally think its the beans theyve chosen as well. Some of the staff are extremely rude. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I stumbled upon this place a couple days ago and decided to give it a try. I was greeted by the rudest counter girl so I had to get a name and it was Megan. I was a little bit put off but decided to still give it a try. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese on an Asiago bagel and when I got it back, the sausage was still hard and frozen and the bagel wasn't even toasted and I also got a coffee with a shot of espresso (which I had to pay extra for) and she never put a shot in it. Coffee perfection. Saw the signs when driving through Salem, NH and had to stop. The Coffee Factory is really nice. Spacious with seating and really cool artwork for sale on the walls. The wait time was minimal. I ordered a Sugar Daddy iced latte featuring caramel and butterscotch flavors. Woah. Sweet and very strong (hello, caffeine). We also decided to try their meat pies. The pork was okay but the chicken was fantastic. Only $3 and they even heat them up for you to go if you want. I wish I lived closer because I'd be going to the Coffee Factory at least twice a week! They had a lot of coffee choices and a huge list of flavors you could add plus bakery and lunch goodies. Really nice addition to the Salem area. read more

Based on coffee alone it would get 5 stars but the food was mediocre and I waiting almost 10 mins to order and there was no one in front of me. They sell "day-old" muffins at 1/2 price that are still pretty good but my bagel also tasted day-old and stale but that was full price. I will probably give this place another try because the coffee was delicious. read more

I love the coffee here. Prices are good. Parking is never an issue since its in a strip mall plaza... I come here and get a coffee and gluten free cookie once or twice a week. Try the gluten free cookies, they're excellent...and I don't even have a gluten allergy but still prefer those cookies. The only real issue is they always seem understaffed and sometimes takes quite a while for them to clear a line of customers. Probably stopping by on my lunch break tomorrow to get a Reeses Iced Coffee. Check it out, you wont be disappointed. read more

Overpriced for what you get. Ordered an iced coffee with caramel and a Frappuccino. The iced coffee was mainly filled with ice and tasted gross and watered down with no caramel , while the Frappuccino was way to sweet and did not taste like caramel, but instead this weird chemical flavor. The service was also way to slow and took the employees about 5 mins to get straws since they where out. Overall disappointed and will not be returning. read more

I love the Coffee Factory! They offer a wide array of flavored lattes as well as classic coffee and espresso beverages. I haven't been disappointed with any of their coffee yet. They offer seasonal drinks every month or so, which keeps things exciting. One recommendation I have for those without a sweet tooth is to steer away from more than one flavor shot - they can be quite strong in flavor, unless it's the right combination. If you're looking for a bite to eat, their breakfast sandwiches and pastries are quite delicious as well. I recommend their croissants and asiago bagels. Everything tastes like it's fresh (or maybe a day old, but still fresh). The only thing of note is that their eggs come in patties, which isn't the most appealing but tastes fine enough on a sandwich. I do wish they changed their menu up on occasion. There are rare instances where they'll have a new pastry here or there, but their sandwiches remain the same. Finally, the atmosphere in the Coffee Factory is what you would want in a coffee shop. They have comfortable armchairs and couches as well as regular bistro tables. There's always plenty of seating for everyone so that you can spread out and have some quiet time to relax and drink coffee, read, do some work, etc. The staff have good taste in music too. The staff are friendly and make the effort to learn your "regular" order when you come in regularly. They seem to support one another really well so that the customer has a positive experience, even if someone is training or the line is backed up. I recommend The Coffee Factory to anyone who enjoys coffee and a relaxed environment. read more

I've been there twice now. The first time I took my girlfriend and we had two lattes and a couple breakfast sandwiches. The lattes weren't bad but the sandwiches were awful. I'm not very picky and will usually finish whatever food I get if I'm hungry but I couldn't finish this sandwich at all. It was a gross, fake looking egg patty similar to one you would get at dunks, except more bland. The cheese on it tasted even worse. The second time I went in there I got a fruit smoothie and obviously opted not to go for any food. The smoothie was very good. Both times the service left a lot to be desired. The atmosphere isn't bad, even if it seems like the steampunk + small coffee house decor didn't really seem to go together. I would feel better giving it 2.5 stars rather than 2 or 3, but that unfortunately isn't an option. read more

Horrible service, conceited, hypocritical, distracted employees, disgusting, low-quality food. The location is nice with comfortable couches and chairs to sit on, games to play and local art for sale on the wall. But this shop seems to have an identity crisis: it gives the appearance of a place that would offer decent, well-sourced food options, but serves the same low-quality, mass-produced, pre-cooked breakfast sandwiches and stale pastries that you can get for half the price at Dunkin Donuts. It's a chop-shop masquerading as an upscale cafe. They offer free wi-fi to customers, so, seeing as though their food is bad and over-priced, I ordered a gyro at the neighboring restaurant (which is lovely) and brought it into the Coffee Factory, where I ordered a chai tea and sat down to relax with my iPad for lunch. The owner walks in and sends his barista over to tell me that I can't eat outside food in their cafe because "OSHA regulations" prohibit it, and that I should just leave. "If you ordered it next door, why can't you just eat it over there??" She then returns to the service counter, where she begins scarfing down Wendy's takeout with the owner. I felt like I was being punk'D. Blatantly hypocritical policy, plus the fact that they chose fast food over their own fare, showing zero pride in their product. Spare yourself the money and the cheap ruse and just go to Dunks. read more
