This coffee shop is located in downtown Evans City, and we have been to its sister shop at Meeder before. Parking was a bit rough on this day due to construction, but thankfully we grabbed the last available spot before my son and I headed inside. The shop itself is bright and has plenty of seating. At the counter there is a display case full of pastries, and after looking over the menu I decided to go with a hot Wedding Cake Latte while I also ordered my wife an iced Mochanut. Mine was described as vanilla and almond, while my wife's was described as chocolate and coconut. Since my son was with me, I also picked up mini donuts for him and a cookie for my daughter. My coffee here ended up being good. I appreciated the almond flavor, and I liked that I could still taste the espresso on the finish rather than having it completely covered by the flavorings. My wife also enjoyed her drink, especially the combination of chocolate and coconut, and both of my kids were happy with their donut and cookie respectively. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My whole family enjoyed what we got, and I would be interested in trying more of their menu.

Since we were in the Mars area, we decided to head over to the Mars Brew House. This shop is located in downtown Mars on Pittsburgh Street. It is located in what looks to be an old large house and I think that you were able to go in at one point in time but only the window was open on this morning. The gentleman that was working the window as super nice and introduced his dogs to both of my kids. After looking around for the menu, he had to take a picture of it with my phone so that I could see it. After looking at it l ultimately decided on a large latte and after being asked about a flavor chose toasted marshmallow while my wife also chose a latte and went with hazelnut for her flavoring. It wasn't long before we had our coffees and headed to our car. My coffee here ended up being alright. The flavor of marshmallow was good but I found the coffee itself to be mostly lost behind it and the milk. So it wasn't bad but I just wish that I had more flavor coming through on what should have been the star. My wife did at least enjoy her hazelnut coffee. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. While my wife enjoyed her latte, I definitely could have used more coffee flavor in mine.

The shop itself is welcoming with a dark brown colored floor, a grey brick coffee bar and a wooden board ceiling. The tables are all live edge and the photos around the shop focus on nature. There is also a small area with merchandise for sale. For my coffee this morning I decided to go with an Americano while my wife went with an iced vanilla latte. We also picked up a stamped gingerbread molasses shortbread cookie and a biscotti which we shared with our kids. The biscotti had a nice snap and great flavor while the gingerbread cookie was deep and rich with those warm gingerbread spices. It was good enough that I went back up and bought another one just for my wife. As for the coffee, both my wife and I really enjoyed it. My Americano came out piping hot. After letting it cool a bit I tried it and thought the flavor was excellent. Letting the coffee speak for itself was the right move here. It had some fruity notes before finishing with a natural sweetness that I really enjoy in coffee. I would not call it bold, probably due to the size of the Americano, but it certainly was not muted either. Honestly, if I had added milk or creamer to this cup I think it would have ruined the flavor that I liked so much. My only issue was that the bottom quarter of the cup had a lot of grounds in it. There were enough that I ended up throwing the rest away. I was also able to try my wife's coffee and really enjoyed what I think was a homemade vanilla flavoring. It almost had a caramel like note that paired nicely with the coffee. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future.
