We asked for a table outside because she can't hear well, and the cafe was bustling and loud. The staff seated us, but had to move tables around outside. The hostess and a "regular" of the cafe said things like "this is what we do in a tourist economy." "We have to accommodate the tourists." As if we were a bother and they were bending over backward to accommodate us. Because my mother in law was there, and she is emotionally raw right now, I avoided conflict. So I'll say now, what I wanted to say to those snarky, rude employees Thursday: My husband's family has had a plot in the Taylorsville cemetery for longer than those two ladies been alive -- combined. His grandmother had 2 restaurants in Greenville. His mother is a fixture in the community, living through the Dixie fire and coming back to rebuild her life. Now she'll bury her husband there. My sister and brother in law worked in public service in Quincy for decades. We aren't tourists. And even if we were, you were incredibly unwelcoming. You made a sad day worse. The food was fine.

I had the tostada and was surprised at how much food it was. Mostly fresh veggies that were plenty to fill me up but not stuff me. I'll definitely be back.

"Donuts with Dad" is an unofficial tradition for my kids at home, but especially when we travel, so…read morewhen I spotted this shop I made a note to sneak my kids out early one morning, and we had a blast as usual. The shop is located just outside of Quincy in a strip mall. We pulled in and found the selection to be fairly sparse at 9am and the donuts looked darker than I'm used to and a bit dry. The kids scored a chocolate iced long john and a chocolate iced old fashioned, and I added on a glazed twist and a raspberry jelly, and the total was around 8 bucks. I went to pay and they tacked on a .50 charge for a credit card. This practice always upsets me as a consumer and I wish they'd just charge what's necessary to do business. I had cash and used that instead to avoid it. The service, from what I can only guess are the owners, wasn't very warm or friendly, and that was a bit disheartening too. I'm used to small towns having such warm and wonderful people, and this just wasn't the case. The place was clean with a few tables to sit, so we stayed and ate there. I noticed they also had coffee, though it smelled a bit stale, and they also sell boba too. It was a nice donuts with dad morning. The twist was enjoyed later as well ;) but all in all I had hoped for more here.

We sat at the bar and learned a lot about the amount of sugar in the drinks!!! Our drinks were poured well and she made me the perfect pomegranate martini!! Food is very well seasoned and all made in house. Garlic twists for appetizers got us going. I could have eaten them all night!! Ended up getting a calzone (carb craving g). Dough was alight and fluffy. Garlic sauce and feta cheese made the vegetarian pizza perfect. Husband had the Salmon filet, roasted veggies. He did it ala cart because he did not want bread, and rice. Perfectly cooked salmon with a light miso sauce. Service is quick or you can sit and absorb the feel of this quaint town.

After the meal came we requested that she remove the appetizers that never came out. The waitress then shamed me for not wanting the appetizers that we waited over an hour for, and yelled through the restaurant into the kitchen that WE changed our minds. The seats were tiny and built for children so they were terrible to sit in. Tarot cards were all over the walls, and all I can say is the whole experience had a demonic vibe.
