I remember not liking The Collector years ago because of the pricing, and eventually stopped going there. Fast forward to recently, my girlfriend and I got back into collecting Pokémon cards. When she suggested giving The Collector another try, I was hesitant, but we decided to check it out again. To their credit, the pricing has improved compared to what I remembered, even though it still tends to be on the higher side. We also met a few people there and started making friends, which made the experience more enjoyable. Unfortunately, over time, those friendships seemed to fade for no apparent reason. It started to feel like we were being singled out or treated differently, and the overall atmosphere became uncomfortable. Whether that was intentional or not, it left us feeling unwelcome and targeted. Because of that experience, we've decided not to return. While there are some positive aspects to the store, the overall environment no longer feels like a place where we want to spend our time. read more

Ordered a PSA 9 1st Edition Jungle Holo Flareon. Order was placed, paid, and confirmed -- then cancelled without any notification. Only found out when the item reappeared at a higher price. When I reached out, the response was essentially: 'we told the employee not to do it again.' No apology, no goodwill, nothing -- not even for a customer who has spent over $15,000 with them. If they'll do this without so much as an email, they'll do it to anyone. Buyer beware -- screenshot your confirmations and don't assume a completed order means anything. Shop Elsewhere. read more

TERRIBLE COMPANY, I ORDERED A PRODUCT THAT WAS $399 (ordered 2). They cancelled my order immediatel, I ordered again and cancelled my order immediately, called and asked why, gave me a bogus excuse about a bad email (( I've had for 25 years), so I ordered again third time with a different email and cancelled immediately again. Then I looked on the site and lo and behold they raised the price by $30 an item to $429. Totally terrible service, wouldn't honor the old price, told me they couldn't do it on the phone! Every time I've come into this place the employees seem put out or aggravated to help me. They offer pennies on the dollar if you're trying to sell anything and their stock is overpriced. For a place meant to buy and sell, they come across as anti social and cheap. Use ebay lt Facebook. Place sucks and the reviews are justified. read more

Bummed.. Used to love this store for getting one piece cards. Now everything is scalping pricing. IF they are worried about scalpers, then limit the amount people can buy. Retail prices for boxes are $120-160 (MAX). If they have a bandai distributor, they are up charging by 2x to 3x. read more

This place use to be great but now seems like the website have been consumed by bots. Can order anything anymore. I would buy from them all the time, shipping was great, and packaging is amazing but now they went to the path of overcharging just like everywhere else. They see how much scalpers are selling products for and they are matching. Long gone are the days that 15-20% marks ups are the norm. Oh well it was nice while it lasted I guess. read more

My previous review was in the middle. This review which spans a few more Times In the shop has been much more satisfied. The staff is friendly and there is a good amount of People working at all times. The store speaks for itself with the size and flow it's perfect. The section is hands down the best and the prices is a win as well. Be sure to take advantage of their rewards as it saves me $5 last purchase. The only thing they are missiing is onsite grading, but they do send off To PSA for customers and I've used this 3 times now with no hiccups and great grades. Well done Collector Store. read more

Happy with my purchase here. Had been on the hunt for the 151 mini tin display for a long time as it had been sold out everywhere. Saw that they were selling individual tins on their website so reached out via their online form if they would be able to send a sealed display. To my surprise, they got back to me right away and said they would be able to do it. I ordered it on thursday and it arrived the following monday in perfect condition! They are the most low balling store in the area I have brought thousands of dollars worth of cards from Pokemon and magic to sports cards and they have steadily gone down hill and I see no fixing of their problem anytime soon the Pokemon and magic buyers are all kids that use the website to do their buying with and you can literally sell them to tcg player for more money and it's the same site they use it's ridiculous 314 in Olivette off olive and 270 is sooooo much better than the collector store ...the collector store has just become snobby unfriendly and just not a fun place to go to anymore I will take my pokemon cards to the store In Troy or 314 but I wouldn't give the collector store another card or another dime read more

I feel bad for leaving a one star review but I feel oligated to. I do not frequent this store but I purchased one item for $430 dollars. I decided to return the item unopened and undamaged within the 15 day window. Because I work overnights I sent my wife up there and they told her they don't do refunds. When I called about it they explained to me that they do refunds but would charge a 20% restocking fee. I didn't notice this fine print nor did I think any business still had this outdated policy. Obviously $85 dollars for accepting an item back is ludacris. The reason I am leaving this review is to disuade anyone from purchasing an item here because it is $10 cheaper or you want to support a small business. It is too much money to waste and, I really hate to say it, but a Walmart or Amazon would be a lot easier to deal with in the case of a return. My recommendation to the store owner is to waive the restocking fee when it doesn't make sense to apply it or get rid of that policy altogether. read more

This is a great baseball card shop. They also have a ton of other sports cards, trading games, and collectibles. If you are looking for single cards, this is probably not the shop for you. They have a few, but they have a much better selection of card packs and hobby boxes. If you are looking for hobby supplies without buying cases online, then this IS the place for you. I stop here every time I am in town and buy thick, super-thick, and tobacco size top loaders. I never need a case of those type and the Collector Store is very reasonable (more reasonable than any other store I have came across) when it comes to buying only a couple packs. read more

Review is for online ordering- I live across the country, so I've never been to the physical store. First off, pricing is incredible. My order was about 20% cheaper than most sellers online, and significantly below retail MSRP. From what I've seen of their Magic section, it seems like they're generally below-market on everything. Secondly, the customer service is incredible. I emailed a question about a product on a Saturday afternoon west coast time, several hours after they had closed. Ben emailed me back in less than five minutes and was incredibly helpful and polite. Finally, the shipping was fast and free- got my package well before I expected to.
