I've been doing microneedling at various places for almost 8 years, and my treatment at R Skin was the best I've ever had. Rebecca is so warm and attentive. When she came in, she said we would cleanse my face and start numbing. I got up to wash my face at the sink like at other places, but she stopped me and had me sit down, reclined me, gave me a cozy blanket, and put on soothing spa music. She gave me a thorough, facial-worthy cleanse and applied a generous layer of numbing cream with a fan brush. This experience was completely different--it was elevated and relaxing, and best of all, I felt zero pain during the treatment, which was a first for me. My nurse practitioner went out on maternity leave and there was a charge for services as a 'different' provider was to see me. Wait, same office so why should the patient be on the hook for new charges concerning the previous services rendered? But here is the rub, first visit only removing two skin tags pushed the billing allowance up. First tag removal fee and 2-15 (some limit) removals another fee. Only removed two skin tags to increase the client billing fees with minimum services. On the second follow-up visit which was supposed to be free on touch-up turned yielded new additional changes, new provider (NP still on maternity leave) so have to pay. While at the counter checking out already irritated on new provider charge, an office staff member was instructing the billing person to bill me the maximum charges allowed as this patient was credited on first visit for nearly all the office charges due on negotiated rates. Would appear that billing practices is a concern over patient care. I will not be recommending nor returning back to Grekin Skin Institute/Advanced Dermatology in Shelby Township or other locations.

I waited nearly an hour for the doctor to come in and could hear him talking and laughing outside the door. After looking at my back once, Dr. Buatti told the assistant to prescribe different medications I said didn't work for me. He continued talking over me, glaring, and in the end prescribing things I again, told him did not work. But worst of all, their sign in questions had no where for me to tell them I am transgender, and I believe I was targeted for this. I put female on the intake form because I'd be asking them to look. Both the assistant and Dr. Buatti seemed amused and condescending when they asked why I put that. When we talked about my HPV, after the assistant told me I could leave my underwear on, he stayed in the room watching me when he told me to take them off. This was extremely uncomfortable and I had to ask for privacy. When they came back in, he used the cryo gun across the entire surface of my privates. It was not targeted to actual lesions, it was freezing the entire area. I was in a significant amount of pain for a week and later saw burn marks. I left humiliated and disgusted. No further treatment was offered. Extremely unprofessional and I have warned against this place to anyone looking for a dermatologist.
