Gino's East pizza served at the comedy club.
    Anne S.

I just happened to be in town, and staying in my usual Magnificent Mile area. And I never knew there was a comedy club just a few blocks away and above Gino's East. You should purchase tickets in advance, which I did online. There were two shows the night I went, one at 7 and again at 9. And there's a 2 item minimum (pretty standard for comedy clubs). I had a great time and I was there totally solo. Sara, my server, took good care of me, And when I had my small deep dish pizza come to my table, my life was complete!! Fine Chicago entertainment, and I didn't even have to uber anywhere.

Such a fun night out! The space is causal and laid back. Be prepared to get cozy with other comedy goers, seating is tight. Service is spectacular, Teara was fabulous. Enjoy the full service menu and drinks during the show. Totally recommend the OMG, deep dish pizza. Pro Tip: Why wait in line for hours at Gino's? Take the shortcut--go straight to the third floor, grab a seat at the comedy show, and have your pizza delivered while you laugh the night away.

Several friends told me Chicago is known for stand up comedy so I purchased tickets for Friday night to The Comedy Bar. We had to climb several steps to the second floor as it was over Gino's East. We arrived a little early and had to wait until the seating was set up. We checked out the patio which was spacious with lots of seating. We were seated in the second row. Our server Iliana was friendly and attentive. There was a two drink minimum per person. This can be soda, beer or alcohol. We saw three or four comedians with the last being the headliner. They were all funny and I was thankful they only picked on the people sitting right by the stage lol. If I go back to Chicago I would attend another comedy show at The Comedy Bar.

I went on a date night with my fiance and it was so much fun! There was so much audience interaction with the comedians that it made it even funnier. Loved the Gino's east pizza. Perfect thing to do on a cold night in Chicago!

Kickin' it w/ohjay_lamont and friends! First time coming, hilarious! Must see! Good food, friendly staff and lots of laughs!!

Purchased tickets online because it was close to where I was staying and the venue had good ratings. I came in for their 9pm show, they have a food/beverage minimum of two things. I purchased a mixed cocktail and mozz sticks. The mozz sticks were just okay! The two openers were pretty decent, the main performer however had a whole episode due to someone heckling him in the crowd. Put a damper on the whole show and wasn't really the venues fault (maybe they could've made more of an emphasis to not heckle during the show or provide security) but it was definitely awkward and made me leave the show a bit early.

This was a nice new updated comedy club. Nice spacing great location in the city of Chicago. The city of Chicago is known for amazing artwork, and as you walk up the steps, you can witness graffiti adoring the walls The server was attentive. She made sure we met our two drink minimum. Then again there was only eight people in the audience. The host OJ was funny. He kept the crowd engaged when the other comedians or acts fell short.

The Comedy bar was a really fun time. There were some ups and downs but overall a good time. There were about 4 comics if I remember correctly, and for the most part everyone made me laugh. I think of the earlier comics was actually one of the bartenders as well. I thought the three opening acts were funnier than the headliner but still a good time nonetheless. There was one particular comic that was doing some crowd work, so they were, of course, asking questions about who was here with the significant other and so forth, and one couple in the crowd did not like the jokes and completely walked out. The entire room thought was hilarious and the comic really played up into that so while it wasn't really a fun time for them, it really turned out to be a funnier time for everyone else . I believe there was a two drink minimum and the drinks were tasty, but of course not cheap but we didn't expect them to be. I'd drop by again as I had a good time.

We come here every time we come to Chicago and we always come out laughing. They always get great comics here to where you are belly laughing and giggling in your way out. Their food and drink menu is pretty good for a comedy bar as well! At the end of the set, we stopped by the bar area and the comic was there and he stayed and chatted with us for about 15 minutes! Such a cool guy and so nice to chat with him. Great comedy spot and must visit!

On my recent (late June 2026) visit to see The Human League, Soft Cell, and Alison Moyet for the Generations tour, overall, I had a good experience. There were couple of issues that we had such as lack of cool air circulation inside the auditorium (it was hot and sweaty) and a couple of people standing throughout the show to dance, blatantly blocking other peoples' view and not caring about being inconsiderate and uncourteous to people behind them to which the theatre ushers had no problem with it. Location is excellent, right next to/under Water Tower Place. Please be aware that parking underneath this building is feasible, but only a few doors are open at Water Tower Place after hours, and there are no signs or pieces of helpful info to alert you to this. It gets a bit crowded, nothing serious, but I think I went to a show on a night when few people had any spatial awareness...you say "excuse me" and nobody sees fit to move...weird! The bar lines seemed pretty long, but the bathroom lines were quick. There are multiple entrances to the women's bathroom, so it was a bit of an awkward "zipper merge" that we all laughed about, but this could've been planned better. None of that is enough to take stars away, because the overall experience is amazing. While watching Titanique (a hilarious, unhinged, brilliant parody-style musical), my friend and I found our seats comfortable and with easy sight lines. We are both very short, but our view was not blocked one bit! The stadium seating here is very intentionally done, so it's hard have a bad view. When you're short, it is rare to have this, so I really appreciated it. Also, the theatre is small enough, so even from "far away," you still feel close to the action!

Upon arrival, IDs and vaccination cards were checked. At the entrance to the theater, the host checks your tickets and determines where you will be sitting. She asked for my party's preferences on how close we wanted to sit (the closer to the front, the greater chance you'll be asked to interact). Menu isn't super big (one page, drinks on one side and food on the other). I didn't eat a full meal here; just had some curly fries ($5) that came with ketchup and was just the right size for a snack. Fries were tasty and salty, although I ALWAYS wish I had more fries. Seating is pretty close together; multiple parties end up sharing tables since seats are positioned in rows with the occasional table in the middle of some rows. That being said, although I was sharing my table with two other parties (one on the other side of the table to my right and another behind diagonally from me), I didn't feel overly crowded at this venue. As per their website, I brought a jacket to the venue and was the most comfortable wearing it based on the temperature. The show itself was fantastic; as expected, it incorporated feminist themes into the comedy. Pretty funny show! Bathrooms were also open, clean, and had plenty of stalls.
