In just my last few visits though, Tales has rebounded significantly. The shop is located south of Allentown, in Coopersburg, and shares it's building with two other businesses. The shop has had several configurations over the years but has been stable for a while now. Walking in, you have various gaming items on the right-hand side of the shop and behind glass counters. Wall book selection is good. New pull selection still feels leaner compared to many shops. In the back of the shop is a good selection of graphic novels. Good news! The organized/semi-organized longboxes are back! Boxes are organized by as priced, $5, and $1 books. Most of the worthless $1 90's independent books are gone, replaced by a huge selection of Marvel and some DC. Over my last few visits, organization of these $1 books has drastically improved. Gaming tables are in the back corner and don't affect the ability to search though longboxes, even with several games ongoing. Overall, I'm glad to see Tales of Adventure moving back in the right direction and it's returned to being one of the Allentown metro areas must stop comic book shops.

Decent stock of new comics, but doesn't seem to carry any CCG/TCG cards aside from Magic The Gathering. An entire wall of the store is taken by the extensive selection of Graphic Novels. Sells comics in bunches/sets if you are looking to start a collection. Store also stocks a half wall of toys towards the back and collectable figurines around the register area in the front. Clean, well lit, and organized. Literally, the store is stocked from bottom to top. Whitehall Mall is more of a shopping center then a mall, with most of the stores having external entrances, Comicmasters is located in the small indoor "mall" portion. The indoor portion of the mall was rather dimly lit during our evening visit.

This isn't a snoody insider shop, where an angry neckbeard will laugh at you for not knowing your Image from your Darkhorse. These folks are happy to help anybody with their first venture into comics, or will kindly leave the veterans to browse. They will set up a pull-list for you, if you want to keep up to date on the latest issues, which is even easier and more convenient to do from home if you use Facebook or Instagram. Just follow their posts and comment on their new release postings to pre-order anything in advance. And my favorite Sunday activity is following their weekly "Claims," where they feature new-to-the-store key issues and bundles at great deals. It's also a great spot for Free Comic Book Day and Halloween. They have some back issues, including some nice expensive finds on the wall and behind the glass, but since it's not the biggest shop in the world, you could probably look elsewhere for that. The customer service and atmosphere is what I come for, though, so it's my first and primary destination for new books.

It might be the only place in the area that has a good selection from the timeframe I'm interested in.

This is a shop I've had on my radar to visit for a long time, but it just didn't work out until…read morethis trip. The shop is located in a back alley, if you find the Doylestown Brewing Company it's right around the corner. They are not a large shop, but it is stocked from floor to ceiling. Cyborg One is one of those rare shops that only stocks a limited amount of new pull comics. Graphic Novel selection is large and spread across the shop, and they also stock Manga. Another different item is a large amount of collected comic sets. The selection of collectables and board games is also good, with Magic: The Gathering cards also stocked. Overall, a great small comic shop that could be easily missed by many, like we did, unless they stop in.

There are sooooooo many comic books scattered around that I'm pretty sure Wade doesn't even know what he has. Sure, sifting through all that inventory can be overwhelming, but that's part of the fun. Each trip is different as the staff uncovers and prices additional stock from the shipments of yesterday (and yesteryear). So, it's like a race against time to see what gems you can find before they even realize what they have! Allow yourself plenty of time, though, because it is very easy to get lost for hours as you comb through the bins and boxes of eras and stories gone by. But that's why I love it. Unfortunately, there are some things I wish they could do better... like with their pricing, which isn't always consistent. Some books aren't labeled or in a designated price box. So then you're left up to the discretion of whoever works the cash register that day to determine what they want to charge for it. I also used to be a big fan of their VIP program, which, for $15, offered some discount on almost everything in the store. Plus, a $10 credit on your birthday month. So it paid for itself and then some. But as I recently learned in my last few visits, this isn't always the case. It's really left up to the discretion of whoever is working the register that day whether or not they want to honor it. ‍ But the staff is still very polite and helpful and I do enjoy coming here. Located in Mcadoo PA.... not in the South.... Also the confederates were on the wrong side. Anyways lots of comics. Store should be cleaned more. When looking through back issues fighting dust and cobwebs was harder that the struggle to get through the Flash movie.
