I've been to the cone shoppe several times prior to tonight. I got a medium flurry with Oreo and Twix and my wife got a brownie fudge flurry. The chocolate ice cream was less smooth than I recall but that may have been due to the Twix addition. The add-ins seemed to make it all a little grainy in my flurry, but my wife's flurry didn't have that issue. There was also a notable difference in amounts given. Mine is pictured while my wife's was filled to the very brim. We ordered the same size. Normally I get a regular twist with sprinkles and I think I'll stick to that moving forward. Since we've been there before we knew to bring cash, but the gal behind us in line didn't know. It's a little inconvenient to be cash only, but it's their businesses choice. The staff were kind and we got out ice cream quickly. All in all not my favorite ice cream shop in town, but it does what it needs to in a pinch and when I don't want to drive further for a cone. read more

We usually don't go because they are a cash only ice cream shop, but we had some extra cash and decided to stop in. Service is limited to a window. The wait is very quick even when the line has a ton of people. There was about 20 people ahead of us, and it took about 5 mins to get to the window. The ice cream was very good. Their menu is so extensive that it makes it hard to choose what you want. I went with a chocolate malt shake. Our only complaint, is the same we have with most of the other places, and that is that they don't have dog size cones. We ordered the smallest cone and it was massive so we had to eat half it before giving it to our dogs. This place is on par to all the other ice cream shops in town so look no further if you live in the area, and have cash on hand. read more

Went to visit here just now, I've been here plenty of times in the past but will never come back. The 2 girls were very rude, my brother went to get cash from his car to pay them, however they didn't finish with our order. It took 30 secs for him to pay them then the girl in the front told the girl next to her to finish our order. Terrible customer service and my brother still tipped them more than half. Do a better job. I'm very disappointed with my experience read more

CASH ONLY! I am a fan of the flurry. The banana creme pie flurry is so good made with real banana chunks and vanilla wafer, but the marshmallow flavor mixed in makes it taste like an amazing creme pie. Try it. There are other reviews that say this is soft serve only but it's not true, they have a bunch of flavors of Hudsonville as well listed under hardserve. read more

This place is soft serve only with a few dozen 'twisty' options. From classic strawberry to pistachio, there is absolutely something out there for you to try. You can also get a sundae but have to pick from your normal soft serve flavors for that. There are also other things like shakes and the like if you're not feeling a cone. This place is towards the end of Michigan almost anchoring the shopping plaza that it is in. It's a walk up only situation with a nice little seating area. Please keep in mind that you want to hit this place in the warmer months as it's not open all year. read more

I ordered a brownie flurry made with cherry yogurt... it was terrible. The reason they have so many flavors is because they just mix the vanilla yogurt or soft serve with medicinal/chemically flavored syrups. The cherry flavor was like cough syrup. The brownies were the typical brownies you get in any fudge brownie sundae, and that was okay. I just couldn't get over the flavor of the ice cream. I was super disappointed. I should have just gone with hard scoop ice cream, but they don't have many flavors. The only reason I would come back is because it's close, and I would definitely get something else, probably a hard scoop of vanilla or chocolate. Bummer. Cash only. The teenagers working were friendly and patient. read more

One of my favorite ice cream places in Grand Rapids! Cash only place with low prices for a very generous portion of ice cream, tons of variety in both flavors and types of treats, friendly staff, and a great outdoor porch with twinkle lights to sit and enjoy your treat! Favorites include turtle sundae, dole whip, strawberry slush shake, vanilla cone dipped in chocolate and sprinkles, chocolate soda, and a pup cup for my furry friend. Lines can get long on beautiful summer nights, but the staff moves very quick to serve you in no time! read more

I love this place! Great soft serve, which includes the 24 flavors plus classics like lemon vanilla twist which is my favorite. Super affordable and in a convenient location with its own parking and deck seating. Options for everyone and the people are super friendly. We always look forward to opening day so we can start our tour of the menu. read more

Killer soft serve! Tons of unique soft serve flavors like pistacio, black cherry and coconut. They also have an excellent variety of flavored frozen yogurt choices. Friendly staff are always generous with the toppings for sundaes or other specialty flurry desserts. They also serve other traditional cones, popsicles or shakes/malts. This is definitely my favorite ice cream place to visit during the summer in Grand Rapids, hands down. Just remember to bring cash! read more

Ah, I loved this place. This was one of my favorite places to go when I lived in Grand Rapids on a summer evening. You can get any kind of ice cream you want...traditional, soft serve, slushes, popsicles, sundaes...all the good stuff. Then you can sit out on the picnic table and enjoy a michigan warm evening with your dip cone. :) The place is always hopping in the summer and for good reason! read more

The cone shop is my favorite ice cream spot in GR so far! It is a little hole in the wall and they don't really have a great sign, but you can find it by all the people that are usually there! They have a ton of options and their prices aren't ridiculous! I always get a small flurry and it is only $2.90 and they put a TON of toppings in which I really appreciate. We actually live closer to Frosty Boy but they don't put hardly any toppings in their flurries, so I get the Cone Shop when I can! They have great service too. Oh and they are CASH ONLY!!! read more

I recently moved to Grand Rapids, MI from Seattle, WA. We moved in July. My husband introduced me to The Cone Shop when I visited in May. I absolutely LOVE the soft serve ice cream. Its not just vanilla, chocolate or swirl. There are so many flavors to chose from. I am slowly trying them all. Very HOT summer and they have very COLD ice cream. Wonderful. read more

Delicious, quality ice cream. What not everyone knows is that there is more than 1 type of ice cream mix. McDonalds for example uses the cheap mix, so when you eat their ice cream, you can feel the ice crystals in it. The Cone Shoppe always uses the top quality mix so their ice cream is much smoother, creamier, and yummier than other places. (I worked there years ago as a teen) Yet their prices are usually LESS than others. Do yourself a favor and check them out. I like the flurries and their Turtle Sundae. And if you're there at lunch, they have AWESOME chili dogs! read more

We sat outside (there are benches) and just people/dog watched, but there is an indoor that looked pretty cute where you can have your ice cream as well. There is street parking. You can also park across the street in a parking lot for a grocery store.
