Lots of flavor and toppings options. Facility was clean and smelled like an ice cream shop should so I felt very comfortable selecting toppings. I chose cotton candy yogurt with gummy bears as a kicker. Total cost $5.35 definitely a place you could spend some money at if you are not careful. Whoever came up with the idea of the frozen yogurt bar where you pick your own toppings is pretty smart. This stuff is expensive but there's really no way for you to know how much you're going to be paying until your cup is weighed. This business model is so wild to me, yet it works. Nate and I stopped in to this location of the Pump House recently for a sweet treat. The bowls are huge, which makes you buy more! They also have cardboard dividers so you can separate your bowl and try up to three flavors, which is what I did. The options are extensive - I think they had at least 20 flavors of frozen yogurt. They also have hard scooped ice cream but I'm not sure if you can use the toppings bar on those choices. I tried the vanilla caramel swirl, mint, and mango raspberry sorbet. They have dairy free options which is nice. The toppings bar is bonkers - I've never seen so many options, ranging from sweet to salty to weird (hot cheetos anyone?). I typically go for the gummy candy but I wish I knew which toppings were the lightest! At 69 cents per ounce, we paid over $20 for our two cups. That's bananas to me, honestly, but I knew it would be pricey going in. The vanilla caramel was my least favorite of the frozen yogurt flavors - it was definitely very caramel-y flavored but I thought it was overpowering. There's a lot to say about the Pump House in Woodland Mall. First off, the service great and quick. This is a locally owned business and the customer service is very good. Secondly, this is very delicious. Not only have I got some frozen yogurt every time I went to this mall, I always end up enjoying it and wanting to come back for more. In terms of the ambiance, there is a decent amounts of seating for a relaxing spot to hang out with family, friends, or even just by yourself. I recommend this for sure. read more

The Pump House is a Michigan Frozen Yogurt place with their 4 locations being in Knapps Corner, Studio Park (downtown GR), Grand Haven, and Rockford. Out of all the froyo places I have been to in Grand Rapids, this would probably be the best one. The froyo was very creamy, and I loved that they had at least a couple non-dairy options. The toppings options were plentiful - nuts, fruits, candy, crackers, mochi, cheesecake bites, etc. Just think of the Pump House as a standard froyo place with more options. The ambience was fun, nothing too special, but it had a fun vibe to it. We went on a Friday night and it was starting to get slightly crowded, but not overly so. The service was good! People working there were super friendly and willing to answer any questions, and were happy to give us a couple of little sample cups. read more

I love it here! My favorite sweet treat place. Even when they are busy you can get in and out if you desire. They always have fantastic flavors and a full choice menu. We always get the frozen yogurt but I'm sure the hand dipped ice cream is great too. The toppings bar is well stocked with all of the favorites except they don't have toasted coconut on there anymore which is a super bummer for me. It can be loud given the location, size and amount of foot traffic coming through but you can always sit outside when it's nice. We will continue to stop in here for an icy treat. read more

I have no idea how I forgot to review this place previously but HOLY FROYO! I have never seen so many options of frozen yogurt AND toppings! I should have counted the toppings but there had to be at least 30 options. I remember to start you could just do a normal dish, or upgrade to a waffle dish, or if you're a real baller you could go with a molten chocolate cake or warm cookie as your base (SERIOUSLY?!) They you have to pick your froyo flavor. 21 options to choose from! Great combo flavors too. I think I went with a salted caramel pretzel and it was amazing!! Then the toppings, I mean, you could probably go broke with all the different options. Crazy stuff that I have never seen before like gummy pigs...LOL! I don't like gummy stuff in my froyo so I opted for more traditional toppings like frosted animal crackers, puppy chow, waffle cone pieces, cookie dough and of course, sprinkles! You pay by weight, so keep that in mind when you are picking from the vast amount of toppings! Or you could just go to the freezer case and get pre-packaged froyo, take it home and add your own toppings (which isn't as fun, but cheaper). The Pump House is my favorite place for froyo! Out of all the places in town, i think they have the widest variety of choices for toppings; from candy, nuts, fruits, and much more. I also love their variety of froyo flavors. There's always options of fruity and more decadent flavors, so there's something to please every palate. They also have pints to go if you need something to take home. But if you have time, i recommend enjoying your froyo on one of there swings inside or grabbing one of their boardgames and hang out with friends over froyo. read more

I still love this place. Tons of options for self-serve frozen yogurt and literally dozens of options for toppings. You can add as much of whatever you want and mix it up any way you desire, then just weigh it. They have now added a decent array of actual ice cream for those that don't care for the froyo (my oldest loves mint chocolate chip and will always go for that if given the choice.) This location is consistently clean, the toppings fresh and well-stocked and the staff are consistently friendly. A great place to bring the kids for a treat! The only downside is that you do have to exercise some restraint or you will be the one getting super-sized. read more

After looking around for a few minutes, I discovered a GF/DF Chocolate flavor and wondered what the ice cream consisted of. Asked a girl who was working, and she explained it was mainly water, and chocolate with a few other ingredients, but proceeded to direct me to the "hard ice cream cooler" where there was GF/DF Birthday Cake Ice Cream! There were 2 girls working, and they both were very knowledgable about ice cream ingredients & types! This was very encouraging for me! And did I say the birthday ice cream was DELICIOUS!! I've been to a few self-serve frozen yogurt spots (usually places like Yogurtland) but this self-serve frozen yogurt place is awesome and it probably tops them all. They have much more options (candy / cookie / nut / fruit toppings and several sauces) and they kept it well stocked, neat, clean and fresh, the peanut butter cups are nicely cut, rather than a big mushy mess like at some places that I've been to and the fruit is nicely cut and fresh. The yogurt was firm and not watered down like at some yogurt places I've been to. I alsol enjoyed the service. The minute you walk in you are greeted with a nice welcome. LOVE this place!! I have had self-serve yogurt in many cities across the US, and this is one of the best yogurt places I've ever been to. My husband thinks I'm an ice cream snob, so I guess I have some clout! Everytime I walk into the Pump House, it's clean, stocked, and packed with kids, families, and couples coming from dinner nearby or a movie. We live about 15 minutes away, and I made my husband (he was happy to join) drive me here on a Friday night to quench my yogurt craving! The best part is that they have small paper tasting cups, so that you can try a few flavors before you load up your bowl. I usually taste about 3 yogurts before I make my important decision. They have 14 different flavors with an additional 7 flavors if you swirl 2 together. The yogurt is very creamy and has cultures in it (think good for your GI tract)! Some places have odd flavors that are icy, but these are not! They have TONS of toppings in the self serve buffet, about 96 actually --anything from candy to cereal to the usual nuts, cherries, and fruit. They have an area in the back of the store with the sauces (think hot fudge, caramel, strawberry, butterscotch, etc) and whipped cream!!! I always get extra yogurt cause my husband claims he doesn't want any, but ends up eating half of mine! So we end up spending about $6-6.50 for the both of us. This go around, we got a swirl of white chocolate mousse (my favorite flavor!), peanut butter, mocha, and oreo/mint mix! I topped it off with 2 cherries, some roasted pecans, and fresh whipped cream! They didn't have gummy bears! We sat on one of the two bench swings that are next to the windows. There are also a few tables with chairs on one side of the topping buffet as well as some high stools near the swings. The staff is always nice, and they showed me how to sign up for a belly card that gives me 5 points every time I go! I'm sure that I'll be racking up points here! read more

The Pump House went for a few unique angles; they have porch swings inside that are admittedly charming and they chose a name that could easily be confused for a fantastic gay bar. The selection stands out as well. Lots of topping and lots of flavors (12?)...way more than my home base: Spoonlickers. However on this occasion the rotating taps just didnt have much going on, lots of selection but nothing too great (exception: moonpie) ...sort of like late night TV. Found this place as we were eating at a place near by. Thought that it would be a good place to check out since I am a fan of Froyo! This place is really neat. I have never seen a place that offers so many toppings. They have the machines on the wall just like every other place that I have been to. In the center is a large island that has everything from fruit, to brownies, to candies, to pretty much whatever you could think to put on top of your froyo. The decor of the place is very rustic which gives it a unique vibe vs places like Orange Leaf that are very commercial and the same. The flavors they offer are different and some that I have not seen before. I had the Oreo milkshake and it was pretty epic. The price is in line with other places and based on the weight of your order. It's overall a great place to check out if you are in the area! read more

This is an ok place. It's got a cool style with the way it looks and all the features like the board games and bench swings. They don't have many flavors of frozen yogurt though. I luckily fell in love with the salted Caramel, but if I didn't like that I might be out of luck because they have such a small selection. I love the toppings though. They have the basics like gummy bears, and they have some odd things like the beads with fruit flavored liquids inside them. Before I went there I hadn't even seen those. Another problem I had was the size of the place. It is so small people have to go to the theatre seats across the street. It's really not a major problem though since they have the tables at the theatre that you can easily walk to. By far the most toppings I've seen at any fro-yo bar which makes for great variety. They have freshly made waffle bowls which are amazing. The pricing seems about the same as most other places. My one regret is not tasting the yogurt before picking a flavor. They have small cups so you can sample. Be sure to do that!!! I got the white chocolate which I normally love from our local fro-yo shop...it was disgusting here!!! So I wasted $7 on something I hated but lesson learned. I still gave this place 4 stars because my daughter got the strawberry and it was great. It feels very crowded inside so we took ours to go.
