Service was friendly and personal. Very small town vibe. Cute decorations. Really loved the band that was there today for Bluegrass Brunch. Cool concept! The food took Forever to come out though. We ordered at 12:30 and didn't get our food til 2:30. The fries were also old when the food was brought out. I understand that there were a LOT of people there today, but I would have appreciated a heads up about the wait or something. First time visit! Amazing Reuben and whole green beans. even the water was good! Our husbands enjoyed the large, meaty, chicken strips and fresh cut fries and were very satisfied. my friend got the chicken fried steak, mashed (garlic) potatoes and mixed veggies (Asian style). Also very satisfied.The waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable about the food fare and checked on us regularly. The men enjoyed a quick game of pool while we waited for our food. Little hole in the wall bar in Peabody, KS. Service was very friendly, and I loved the atmosphere. They had a jukebox in the corner, a pool table, and multiple TV's with sports on. The menu had a lot more food than I was expecting, and the burger selection was close to the biggest I've ever seen on a menu. The burgers are each 1/2 pound along with multiple condiments. I chose the scandalous burger, which had cheese, bacon, fried onions and jalapeños. I had a side of waffle fries which were also extremely good, but I wish I had more because I felt like they short handed me a couple. If you're needing ketchup/mustard you'll need to ask the wait staff but they quickly brought us out some. Everything else was great! Highly recommend if you're in the area! read more

We tried the Coneburg Grill because it was the only place open on Hwy 50 on a Sunday afternoon - Mother's Day. The ambience is strictly Budweiser, but the place is clean, in good repair, and the wait people are friendly. Better yet, my husband said his Philly cheese steak had delicious meat, great onions, and a fresh bun (his only criticism was the meat wasn't as thinly sliced as "real" Philly cheese steak). I had blackened catfish - moist, great seasoning- and fried okra, fresh and crisply breaded and not greasy. Most amazing were the green beans! Delicate little fresh beans, cooked al dente, that tasted like beans, nothing much added, just garden fresh! I was disappointed when I came to Coneburg this time. Staff is friendly but we waited around 20 mins for anyone to acknowledge that we were at the restaurant and ask us for our drink orders. After we ordered it took about an hour for us to get our food. The food was decent but wasn't very hot and felt like it had been sitting out for a while. Steak was rubbery and felt like it was way over cooked. The atmosphere is great though. I believe that there were only three people working when we visited. The chicken breast was big, fat and tender with just a small amount of coating that was quick fried and not heavy, not the usual thin piece of meat and thick greasy coating! Another guest had one of the hamburgers, 1/2# after it was fried I am sure, delicious served on a pretzel bun! I am only giving it four stars because my husband thought it was OK but I would definitely go back. We live in west Wichita so it is about a 45 minute drive. I love the drive! I thought what my husband and I ordered was very good. Servings are large, price was reasonable, and service was excellent. I am a wine drinker but not a wine snob. I ordered a Chardonnay and it was a generous pour for only $4.00. Can I say "generous" pour? I know someone else gave it only a two star review but I would beg to differ. A few friends drove out to try this place a year ago because of their Reuben Sandwiches, sampled across the menu everything was fantastic, creative, and well executed. Drove back out recently and was embarrassed that I had brought friends with me. The once famous Reubens are now 60% kraut and a dry crumbling meat that tasted like ground beef. The burgers are all now served on the same plain jane bun and were horribly over cooked. The salad bar is now a sad reminder of what once was. Everything fried tasted exactly the same. Soggy fries and everything seemed underseasoned. The plates are messy and thrown together. The servers seemed more like they were being held against their will than happy to be there. Quality seems to now be an issue. Trying to get by as cheaply as possible seems to be the current theme. Bathroom was cute but wreaked of stale cigarette smoke and was not clean. Kind of seems someone just gave up on this place which is sad because I would have bet money a year ago this place was going somewhere. Upon leaving e spoke to a local woman who said their cook had left last autumn and now it was a bunch of home cooks playing in thr kitchen and the quality and creativity have suffered. .
