This may seem like a minor thing to most. I frequent this store often but as of late the cashiers have not been asking for my POP info or even if I want to join (past 3 visits). Small thing right? Not if this is THE customer program you've been marketing AND when you've clearly asked the customer in front of me. Should I be dressed a certain way, should I come at a certain time? I live in an old house and since it's an old house it sometimes gets that old house smell. It's especially bad in the closets and makes my clothes smell, well, not so fresh. It's embarrassing and I've been uncomfortable talking about it. Until now. My closets were making my whole house smell musty and I was having to wash clean clothes every two weeks to freshen them. Tired of doing so, I went to the store that's all things closets for help. Ashamed, I shared my smelly closet story with two different female counselors at the Container Store. Neither one of them judged me for my problem and one of them even shared her smelly house story with me. It made me feel so good to be validated like that! They were able to provide me with products--lava rocks that absorb odor and a hanging damp rid to absorb moisture--to help freshen my house without giving it that sugar cookie vanilla smell. In less than 24 hours, the house and my closets smell fresh and the damp rid is pulling the humidity out of the air. I can now have company over and not worry about how my clothes smell in a crowd. Freaking love this store. It's always organized (of course), and the workers are so friendly! I find EVERYTHING I need here. Work, school, play. Stuff to organize my desk, check. Stuff to organize my closet, check. Stuff to organize my cosmetics, check. Although CS can run on the pricier side, it truly is a one stop shop. Instead of running to Target, Hobby Lobby and Michael's, you can find everything here AND your stuff will match. Sometimes they have clearance and you can snag some pretty good stuff! Another big plus is their return policy. According to one salesman, it's "awesome" and they "encourage customers to try out products". You can pretty much return anything, even if it is outside of its original packaging. As long as you have a receipt, you can receive your money back. Otherwise, it's store credit. read more

In my old age, I get excited by the small things... A new shoe rack that has little grippy things that holds my heels, and is arranged to perfection. A sock organizer, clear boxes to display my beloved Rachel Zoe's or my perfect powder blue wedding shoes. Sure, you can get most (not all) of these things at Target for less, but the quality of the things I buy at the container store is much much better. I would rather pay double for a shoe rack and have it last forever, than have it fall apart next week. They also have great storage for your Christmas goodies, great travel needs, and wonderful office organizational tools. I also like their kitchen section which I have gotten some cool items for my fridge, making it very easy to see what I need quickly. Check out is quick, and their return policy is easy. This was a great container store! Large, so everything was laid out great with lots of breathing room. Some locations cram everything in, but this one was perfect. The bathroom was spotless, and the staff was really amazing. There is a large parking lot, and there is a starbucks next door. We grabbed teas, then wandered around this great location! read more

I love this place! The only downside is that I am tempted to spend too much money!!! Recently, I completed an Elfa set that I bought from a friend. I ordered everything online and it was always ready and graciously loaded in our car quickly. This has helped me get some "messes" more organized than I have ever been before! They are kind of pricey on some things, but their standard plastic containers and such are really about the same as everywhere else and try as I might, I have't been able to find equivalent containers of their fancier stuff in other places. read more

Normally I don't try to review "main stream" type stores unless it's an unbelievable experience, or horrible cut my eyes out experience. This really was neither but I was just disappointed. I first went to The Container Store over a year ago when I lived in MA. There is one near BC and just outside Boston. That place was awesome. Huge store and a lot of cool...how do we say, containers! I knew of location and decided to just look around on a Saturday. I was disappointed. Granted this store isn't as big as the one in MA but it just seemed like it was lacking all the cool, fun, containers I remembered. Now there was an Xmas setup in the store so maybe they moved some in storage because they didn't seem to have the fun kitchen bottles/ jar knick-knacks that I liked the first time. I give it 3 out of 5 because well they do have containers, a wide variety, and friendly employees. read more

The first time I came in looking for a particular cart they didn't have any of the pieces needed to make this cart so that was a bust. The second time I came in I was interested in buying a different metal drawer set and lugged it all the way to the counter-no one offered help. Got to the counter and the guy at the register said "those are only display but we can get you one from the back" .... so your whole staff just watched me do that? Cool. Tight. Thanks. Then I waited for nearly 30 min and still the drawer had not been brought up for purchase. I just bought the damn thing online because these guys are completely useless in store, and left. You're better off purchasing online because it's like rocket science for their staff to help you in person. Also the store is a mess and completely unorganized. read more

I'm a fan of The Container Store. The store is well lit, always organized, and the workers have always been able to help me appropriately. The goods are pricier than they would be at Target or Walmart, but the quality is also much higher. At the holidays, they have some nice fancy gift wraps and gift bags and such that are ideal for significant "meaningful" gifts. This is the ultimate destination for all your organization and storage solutions. The layout of the store is basic and you're likely to find a fun surprise around every corner. Whether you are looking to store your photos or your children's toys, they have it all. The prices are reasonable, I'm sure you can find some of the items elsewhere at a lower price. You will just have to search more stores, online or in person. This store is definitely more convenient. It's fun navigating around and the staff is always friendly and willing to help. I believe the only rudeness I've encountered is from another customer who believed her needs far exceeded anyone else's. With that said, no big deal. I never have a problem finding a use for just about anything in this store. Sometimes I'm lucky and find something that's on super sale. Definitely can't pass up a good buy! This place is always first on my list when I've run out of options. I love organizing and this is a Pinterest heaven! I came to the container store to have three closets designed. The closets are rather small so we really needed a space-saving solution. The first time I went into the store I was helped by Jene at the Elfa desk. She designed two wonderful closets, and had great ideas. I came in a second time to have the third closet designed for our baby's nursery and was helped by Darius, he also had great ideas and designed a beautiful space. All they needed were the dimensions and they did the rest! The software they use to design the closets was designed by Container Store employees who have worked there for many many years... it's very cool! I opted to have the three closets installed by the Container Store, even though they seemed pretty easy to install. If you want to keep the price down, and just pay for materials, Elfa is modular and easily adjustable. Robert did the install... he was very polite and did a wonderful job all the way around, I was very impressed. He even showed me how to adjust some things for future reference. GREAT customer service from the store, on the phone, and all the way to the installation at my house. It can get pricey, but it is totally worth the money, and you definitely get what you pay for. Honestly, I wish I could afford to do every closet in my house through them. *You guys are awesome, thanks for a great customer experience and beautiful, quality products!! read more

I have been a regular at this location for years, and through my experiences I can say that there are several Pros and Cons to this location of the Container Store Pros: 1. The employees are VERY kind and helpful, always walking you directly up to the product you need. 2. The purchase online, pick up in-store option can be convenient, especially if you want to look at the item in person before fully committing. 3. The products is extremely well organized (not surprising for a store specializing in organization). Cons: 1. The parking can be difficult around 5pm or so since it does share a rather modest end of the parking lot with three other stores 2. It can be a bit difficult to get back on to Westheimer because there is ALWAYS so much traffic, especially around the exits of the parking lot 3. During college and Christmas times of the year the store is PACKED and checking out can be a true hassle. While most of the products are very similar to things you could buy at Target or Ikea for half the price, that's the case with any Container Store, not just this location. read more

The employees here are always super freakin helpful. Every time I have been here I've always received great customer service. Today I came in to exchange something I bought online that was damaged, and to cancel another with multiple pieces on back order to pick it up at a different location. Andy helped me out. He checked on everything for me and found out the Friendswood location had everything I needed. He went ahead and canceled my online order for me and sent it over to other store to get pulled for me. The Container Store is full of everything you have ever wanted but didn't even know you needed. And, for those of you who are not familiar with it, it's not just all about containers... it has some awesome other stuff too (great stocking stuffers for the holidays.. I can say that now that it's January.) It is a little pricey, so anyone who is going here just to buy containers seems to have some extra money to spend. I'm not into organization in the least, however I dream that I am, and I love to wonder around the store looking at things that I could do with my home were I to one day decide to become organized. It's like an obsessive compulsive's dream, what with all the little ways to store things, label things etc. My husband, a clean freak, feels at home here and would probably move in were the opportunity to become available. I like all the little extras-- bags, little key chain things that you don't need buy HAVE TO HAVE, this awesome gadget that can open ANY CANNED GOOD IN THE WORLD. Staff is very helpful-- I love it when you ask someone's opinion about something (for example the bamboo odor cleanser) and they can honestly give it to you. Good way to waste a few hours, as long as you don't mind leaving a few dollars lighter. read more

I could live here, literally, just curl up in on of those little cubbies and be a happy clam. Organizing is paramount to living a Godly life and this place has it almost, there are jewelry trees that they sell and HGTV raves about them, but the staff had never heard of them but they looked high and low and shelving on sale 25% off and that includes installation, Christmas gift idea, but that sale ends the 20th. Appreciate the staff as they are the greatest. When your laundry bags die a silent death they still carry replacement bags. Any pantry is not complete without labels, jars, grids, hooks, this is nirvana, with the exception of parking. Narrowly escaped a rear end event today, it's not conducive for folks that want to park at the front door. You know the ones that are not handicapped physically, but mentally. read more

Don't go there in the evenings on a motorcycle! I came here on a motorcycle and the parking lot security guard immediately followed me around in a car while I was looking for a place to park. When I pulled up to read the sign "Take Out Only" he immediately asked me to leave and not park there. I guess he assumed that being on a motorcycle, I cannot have take out. But I was just reading the sign and the fine print underneath since the sign was not there before. I then went to another parking space where I was told by the security officer that 4 motorcycles have to park in one space. The lot was 1/3 empty and there were many spaces around. I was also told that I could not back in and must pull into the space. During all this, some guy even came out and told me he was the owner of the property and that if I don't like the rules, I can leave. I was fed up by this time and just left. I think the property owner just do not want business from anyone that rides a motorcycle. I often visit this business along with other shops and restaurants on this property but will unfortunately take my business elsewhere because of this incident. read more
