I have been watching Home Edits, and have an urge to organize my place. I came to this store because I was closed by. Parking is horrible as I picked the wrong day (Sunday) to come by. I was lucky enough that I found a meter a block away after circling for 15 min. Staff were not helpful, and they seemed to be unhappy. They would not know the answer when I asked them a simple question about their products. While I was trying to treasure hunt for what I needed, products on the ground floor (jewelry organizer section) were in a mess! I picked up a tray, but the name on price underneath did not match the name of the product! After I paid for my products, the cashier gave me a number to call when I pull up to the valet parking. She said that staff will help me load stuff in my car. However, the number seemed to be busy (I called 5 times)! I ended up parked my car at valet, and walked back to the store. However, I only saw 1 cashier working with 5 other customers. A staff was about to left work to go home, and I asked if he knows where were his colleagues. He was very nice that he found someone to assist me. I was waiting closed to the cashier, and I saw 2 staff pushing 2 shopping carts outside of the store. I was trying to hunt down one of them, and found out that one of the carts was belong to me! If I did not walk outside of the store, the staff would be waiting at my car and I would be waiting inside the store! This is poor communication. This was my first time actually entering and exploring The Container Store! The entire store feels clean and organized. They have everything from drawers and containers, flat, tall, big, small, etc., to kitchen supplies and storage, to closet storage items. I highly recommend comparing prices since they do have several items that are similar to each other. For example, they have small storage containers of various dimensions that can fit in drawers, and while one is rectangular with holes, there is another that is more bin-like. The price difference is $3.84 for the Brick versus $1.09 for the bin, and the bin is so cute! read more

Great service, good varieties of organizational tools, bad parking. I needed to organize my place a little better so naturally the container store was a place I wanted to check out. They have a large selection of organizational tools here among other things. Also, I was surprised to see that they sold blue land soaps here. I'm familiar with blueland from Shark tank so I felt like it was pretty cool to try it out. I'm actually a fan of it right now and will be buying more in the future. They have a lot of things to help you organize your space better so it helps for inspiration as well. I bought a couple of things here, but more over I noted all the things that I would buy on Amazon and what not. So I felt like this place is good to check out new organizational tools that you may or may not have considered in the past. Parking in Pasadena is notorious for being bad, so always plan your trip wisely and have a parking backup plan. There is paid parking on the side and sometimes you'll be lucky to find free structure parking. There is free parking close to the park, but it'll be a walk. Otherwise, I would just spare a couple cents for the street parking or a couple dollars for a parking structure. read more

I love a Container Store, but shopping at this one felt unwelcoming and a lot more of a hassle than others. For starters, the closest lot to it is $11 minimum to park at regardless of how short you park there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I mentioned the issue, he said, "You can scan the barcode using the app." Which is a solution, but I shouldn't have to download another app to shop in a store. Our absolute favorite store.. the staff here make you truly feel at home and are SO knowledgeable. This store always has a good stock of merchandise, and is able to accommodate the large quantities we need as personal organizers. Anika is especially helpful on the floor with products and has made our job so much easier! Truly love the whole staff here, they make us feel welcome and recognize us and our business every time we walk in the store. I order two custom rooms from the Container Store in May 2022, and worked with a very friendly designer. Unfortunately, the rest of the process has been a complete nightmare, including errors in the orders made (by my designer) that required multiple trips to and from the store, paying $5-10 in parking each time. They outsource installation, and both installers (yes, we needed a second installation due to changes and errors) were incredibly nice and professional, but both installers noted missing items from the order, promised we'd be able to install the missing pieces ourselves, and neither time was that accurate. My experience in store has been met mostly with inept employees moving incredibly slowly. I used to hold Container Store in high regard, but this experience has changed my perspective. The quality of products is still great, but I will avoid shopping at the Pasadena store from now on. Such a shame. ---- UPDATE: after complaining to my designer, they came out personally (not with an external installer) and brought the correct items to our home and completed the installation. I am incredibly grateful, as I don't think this is part of their normal day-to-day. The Container Store needs to stop selling, "Richard's Moth Repellent herbal sachets." It does just the opposite. Yesterday I looked in my closet in absolute HORROR to see a "live moths farm "on the sachet and a giant hole on my new cashmere-sweater, behind the sachet, where they are feeding. Small white winged moths crawling all over. It happened to another sweater and there's holes in all my wool clothes as they migrated to other sweaters in my closet. I'm complaining to this manufacturer asap. I'm writing to warn others, don't use this product!!!! I found other reviewers on Amazon who had the same horrible experience with it !! read more

I'll start this off by saying I 100% agree with all of the other one star reviews for this particular store location. I pulled up their Yelp page after the awful experience I had only to see that there are countless other unhappy customers they've had in the past. It wasn't only me. The employees here have NO IDEA of what good customer service is. They just stand there looking like they hate their jobs and are definitely NOT helpful at all! I had an online order that was scheduled for pickup yesterday on a Saturday afternoon. They sent out a confirmation email that has an option for curbside pickup. Mind you there is no location to even pull up by their store because they have a pole blocking you from being able to park your car safely without the possibility of street traffic hitting the tail end of your car. So why they have a drive up & pick up service is seriously beyond me. Especially being located in downtown Pasadena it's very hard to try and pull off to the side without blocking traffic. Not only that but they seem to take their sweet time bringing out the order. I confirmed via the e-mail link that I was waiting outside and it got to the point where I was wondering if their system was working because no one was coming out. At that point I decided to go in store to see if they were aware they had someone waiting for pickup. First off, when you walk in the registers are right in front of you. There were at least three employees there and none of them even looked up to greet incoming customers. I'm surprised with the Container Store being as expensive as it is, I'd expect the people working there to be trained a bit more on customer service. When I let the girl know I was there to pick up an online order and cued for the outside pickup service she just said they were "probably already on their way out there". I let her know I had been waiting a while for my order to be brought out but she didn't really seem like she cared. She wasn't even apologetic! When I asked if I could just pick it up in store, you know - since I was already in there - she said I couldn't and that I had to go back outside and wait. I was so surprised how the situation was handled I just walked back out. I did end up getting my order eventually but I'm just completely disappointed in their service and how absolutely DREADFUL their employees are. If I could give zero stars I would. These people do not deserve to have jobs if they're going to act the way they do towards paying customers! Seriously, just do us all a big favor and quit. Received my email and text saying my order was ready. I drove down to the store. I waited at the customer pick up outside.I called them because my order said it was not ready after all. Coming from Rancho Cucamonga I was a little annoyed, so I called them, they couldn't find my order and my car got disconnected somehow. So I went inside and talked to the manager and she said my shoe case was in high demand. I went to the floor and looked for the suitcase, and there were multiple items there. We have been here three times and while our first two visits were fine, the most recent visit on Sunday was off-putting to say the least, due to one male cashier. Prior to that most recent visit, my partner called and asked if a few specific items were in stock so that our drive from LA/Echo Park would not be a waste of time. The woman on the phone was of huge help with nice phone/customer service manners. We quickly grabbed the items we wanted to purchase and unfortunately when it was our time to pay, the male cashier made us feel like we were bothering him. He barely greeted us. Just a hostile vibe. I was willing to let that go because we all have our bad days. I wanted to use my Pop Rewards discount and glad we got to use it at least for our shopping haul of utility shelves, bench, and bookshelves. It's always so confusing when a retail worker makes you feel like this! I used to work retail in my college days and was always nice to customers even when I had customers straight from hell! To make matters worse, we ended up picking a letter holder item (not on our shopping list HAH) spontaneously. The male cashier said we couldn't buy it because it was an item for display only. We thought - Okay, our mistake but can we please get a non-display one then? The cashier didn't even try to get us the item. Then told us it should be upstairs on the second floor.... then shortly said the item is not available for sale anymore within that one minute. No apologies whatsoever. Container Store Pasadena, please get your business in order. I wish we had gotten one of the female cashiers instead. I recognised her from the past (and more pleasant) visit and if we had had her to help us, perhaps it wouldn't have tainted our view of this retail store. read more

While MariKondo'ing (reorganizing) our parent's pantry, we decided to get some bins so we can categorize our noodles from the kilos of tea we have. Of course that means a visit to our local container store! It is located in Old Town Pasadena, which is a popular locations for locals and tourists. There's street parking, but it is difficult. I would recommend the parking structure by the Scientology building for 90 minutes free parking ($5 flat rate after that in case you decide to extend your stay). It was fairly well-staffed for midday Wednesday and Thursday, and the employees are very nice and helpful! There was a bit of restocking on Wednesday, so it was a little messy, but how else are you going to reorganize a store? Didn't bother me as I saw the tidy aftermath on Thursday. We were able to get our deep, clear bins (our pantries run deep) and for our large pantry, it took about $180. They are really nice bins, but it feels a little pricy, even with the sale. You can join their program and you get 15% off total purchase on NON-SALE items until April 28, 2019 if you feel like buying something soon. Now that I've been here, I'll consider this location for future home organization. They are nicer items (at least from say low-cost options like Daiso), so be prepared to pay a higher price. read more

The last time i visited the container store was when I was living in NYC and I remember it being vast and wonderful. I just moved to Pasadena and was excited to get all my organizational supplies here, but it was a disaster. This place sells goodwill quality containers for an astronomical price. The wicker baskets are all broken and frayed. Nothing has prices listed on them and half the items in the store aren't even marked with a price. I picked up a basket that was marked $26.99, and when I got to the register it rang up for $52.99. If I wasn't already rubbed the wrong way with the high prices and pretty sub par damaged product, this organization store was the least organized place I've been to in a while. The things you want to buy are stacked so high you can't reach them. The things you can reach are flimsy, damaged and expensive. This store is 2 floors of disappointment. The location of product doesn't make much sense and seems desperate for an organization expert. The highlight was the woman who rang me out. I was agitated with everything and was a bit short and kurt with her about my experience and she was absolutely nice and sweet. I wouldgo back just to offer her a job but I would not recommend anyone wasting time or money here. You can litterally get all the stuff they gave here for half the prices at: Walmart, Target, Amazon, Burlington, Hobby Lobby, and Macys. This was a huge waste of time. read more

I love the Container Store not because I need containers or drawer organizers or closet shelving. I love the Container store because they have the shelves of "bits" by the register. Little plastic things that you see and realize that you couldn't possibly live without. Today, I picked up a small cable winder for my nose cancelling headphones. Instead of a big tangled knot, I now have a nice organized cable. Awesome. You may need to ask a store associate for assistance locating items, since they have a 2nd floor as well and have a TON of products. The ONLY reason I didn't award five stars is because this store costs waaaay too much money....... or at least, I SPEND too much here. It is addicting, and they manage to come up with storage solutions that my husband and I need.... mostly in our bathroom, the one problem in our townhome. The Container Store has provided every single change we've made, and while I am grateful, my checking account is not. My husband expressed a desire to go here last weekend, his birthday weekend. I was surprised. We hadn't set foot in one of these stores in at least a couple of years now, and for him to announce this just surprised me. That being said, I walked over to the bath storage area...... mistake........ and found new storage ideas. Oh boy, bigger mistake...... cuz I bought them. $150 worth. Ugh. Got home, spent several hours re-doing the bathroom storage, only to find I needed more, and because I have serious issues with leaving tasks incomplete or partially done, we returned the next day for more, and I spent an additional $230. Major sigh. Am I nuts? Yes, that's already been determined. That being said, both of us love the new, sleek and shiny acrylic storage holders where I haven't seen elsewhere, so when I'm complaining about how much I spent, I also thank them for having what we want. I have always loved the Container Store and understand that extra patience is needed during Covid. But my experience on my most recent order has me questioning if I ever want to shop there again. I placed an online order for a set of cleaning gloves. They showed as in stock but I needed curbside pickup due to health concerns and the earliest pickup time was 2 weeks later. No problem, I can wait. So I get to the store and mark that I've arrived for pickup (via a link in their email). I waited at least 10 minutes before they came out, no "hello" or anything friendly, just "what's your name? Do you want it on your seat?" Not even a "have a nice day". Again, not a huge deal, I know people are stressed out right now. But it's not the same friendly customer service I've been receiving from other stores I've recently done curbside orders with. I get home and check the bag and see that they sold me a very clearly used pair of gloves. The packaging was torn and taped back together, the plastic tags were missing, and the gloves were very discolored. I tried calling the store immediately and no one picked up. I hung up after 10 minutes of no one answering, I did this 3 days in a row and never had anyone pick up. I have since also emailed Container Store via their online "contact us" link without a reply, and called their main customer service line and didn't get an answer. It gives you the option of leaving a voicemail for a callback, but no one has called back. At this point, I think I just lost the $10 I spent on used gloves that I can't use. But moreso, I lost one of my previously favorite stores... unless you can go into the store safely yourself, I would avoid this store and especially curbside pickup. read more

"Do not order from this store". I have been waiting 3 weeks for them to ship items that I ordered on line and promised me it would ship in 5 days. When you call the Customer service (CS) they only say "Do to covid there will be a further delays". I contacted after 12 days and still the same answer. Tell me they have no further information. Sorry I ask CS for a refund they tell me NO. Told me I can return after I get the product. At the same time they are promoting buying on there website and do not warn you on the bad customer service or the extensive delays in shipping. Friendly service in the store but good luck getting a human being on the phone when you call them. I was trying to order a 45lb IRIS airtight food container (made in the USA) for pick-up at this location but then it says it won't be available for another two weeks even though the store had some "in stock"? Hmmmm...After trying maybe 5 times and waiting minutes on hold each time, someone finally answered. The sales associate was able to confirm that they had the container I was looking for. He explained the discrepancy online was due to the current situation with safety from Covid-19. I guess the system only allows a certain number of orders for pick up and when it goes beyond the threshold for the day, they'll put you on queue. So if you see an item that you need and the store has it, call to verify and buy it direct unless you don't mind to wait two weeks or more. I'm using the IRIS airtight container to store my 50lb bag of rye flour so that it stays fresh for up to a year - though I doubt it'll go that far since I bake sourdough loaves regularly. The container is actually marketed for pet food, lol but it works really well for (bags of) flour and I highly recommend this technique to keep moisture and pests out of the flour! It's a smart purchase :) I might get a few more since I plan to purchase other types of flour soon from the mill. Thanks so much, TCS! read more

I went here to make a return. In the end the lady took the return but let me tell you about my OK experience. I bought $300 worth of clear containers to see if I would like them for my home. They were nice but to replace the plastic lighter containers we had before it didn't seem like a good fit although it seemed great on TV. I had these items for less than a month. When I came for the return, the lady (seemed like manager), was trying to put words in my mouth in order to not take the return..she said things like "they have served their purpose didn't they?" I answered "well they did" but it actually didn't because I ended up switching back to my old plastic colorful containers holding my stuff. She didn't seem like she wanted to take the return so I gave her another reason which was true, "we are moving out of state and these aren't going to fit in our car." Good luck on the curbside pickup. I had an order for curbside pickup at this store. I got there 11:36am on a Friday. Waited for 28 minutes then proceeded to park and go inside. I saw my order sitting at the back register. Two employees at the register with 1 manning the register and the other taking calls. If this store do not have enough manpower to take curbside pickups please don't have it avail where customers items are not being delivered as promised. They obviously forgotten my order and didn't bring it outside. Curbside pickup means curbside not in store. read more
